Bloodborne comes with its own set of unique weapons that sway away from the more medieval-styled ones of Dark Souls. Instead of your conventional fancy swords and lances, you’ll get odd weapons that can transform, and also firearms for some long ranged stuff.
For more help on Bloodborne, read our Beginner’s Guide, Character Class Guide and Cleric Beast Boss Guide.
There are various similarities in the mechanics to the Souls games though: each weapon can be upgraded various times, and the concept of scaling also returns, this time with Strength, Skill, Blood Tinge, and Arcane.
The damage scaling of the weapon directly depends on how you have invested your points into these various attributes.
Trick Weapons are basically your right-hand default weapons in Bloodborne. They come in various shapes and sizes, but what’s unique about these weapons is that each one of them has two transformations.
For example, a Kirkhammer can act as a shortsword with a lot of speed, but then be transformed into a powerful hammer with a lot of reach and impact (but slow speed).
Trick Weapons do not come in one form. Each Trick Weapon in fact comes in three forms: Normal, Uncanny, and Lost. The Uncanny and Lost weapons have completely different locations from Normal ones, and generally have more powerful Gem Imprints on them.
Each weapon can be upgraded several times in the Workshop in Hunter’s Dream, and you’ll need Blood Gem for that. Below is the list of the Trick Weapons in Bloodborne, their starting stats, and the locations of their Normal variants.
