SoulCalibur V Guide: Cheats, Tricks, and Unlockables (Characters, Stages, Modes)

Cheats / Tips / Tricks

XP Farming: If you're looking for a rather cheesy way to gain experience in SoulCalibur V, we have a fairly simple process for you.

First things first, go online. Go to "Player Match" and create your own room. Once you've done this, set the available slots to two - if you intend to play with a friend, make sure one of the two is private. Set the number of rounds to 1; then go nuts. Play as many matches as necessary.

Unlockables: Characters

Algol: In order to unlock Algol in SoulCalibur V, along with his stage "Tower of Glory: Most Holy Dichotomy", you need to either defeat him in Legendary Souls, the Teramos Quick Battle, or Arcade Mode. Alternatively, you can gather together enough experience to reach level 31.

Alpha Patroklos: To gain access to Alpha Patroklos, either complete Episode 12 of Story Mode, or get to Player Level 15.

Dampierre: At the current juncture, the only way to unlock the quirky, absurd Dampierre is by pre-ordering the game. Until they release him as DLC, you're pretty much out of luck if you were looking to play as him. Sorry, folks.

Edge Master: Edge Master, along with his stage "Tower of Glory: Spiral of Good and Evil" can be unlocked either by completing Episode 16 of Story Mode or reaching a Player Level of 19. Take your pick.

Elysium: To unlock the rather chilling Elysium as a playable character (as well as her stage "Utopia of the Blessed"), you need to either complete Story Mode or reach a Player Level of 19.

Kilik: To gain access to the "Penitentiary Destiny" stage along with this Blast from the Past, either beat him in Legendary Souls or Arcade Mode. Alternatively, you can simply reach Player Level 9.

Pyrrha Omega: Unlock Pyrrha Omega and "Denever Castle: Eye of Chaos" by either defeating her in Episode 19 of Story Mode or reaching a Player Level of 23.

Unlockables: Stages

Ancient Citadel: Peacetime - To gain access to the Ancient Citadel, you need to either complete episode 4 in Story Mode, or gain enough experience playing online or offline to reach a player level of 7.

Astral Chaos: Pathway - There's only one way to gain access to this secret stage - you need to get to level 25. Have fun.

Conqueror's Coliseum: Underground Fight - You'll need a player level of at least 13 before you can start playing on this level.

Denever Castle: Assault - If you complete Chapter 18 of Story Mode, you'll unlock this stage along with last Rites on the Battleground. Alternatively, gain enough experience to reach a Player Level of 18.

Denever Castle: Eye of Chaos - You'll gain access to the Eye of Chaos once you unlock Omega Pyrrha as a playable character. See the Unlockable Characters portion of this SoulCalibur V guide for more information.

Last Rites on the Battleground - You'll unlock this stage either by completing Chapter 18 of Story Mode or gaining enough experience to reach a Player Level of 40. Story Mode is probably the easier route on this one.

Penitentiary Destiny - Unlocking Kilik as a playable character will grant you access to this stage.

Tower of Glory: Most Holy Dichotomy - You'll have to unlock Angol as a playable character before you can start playing on this stage. See the Unlockable Characters portion of this SoulCalibur V guide for more information.

Tower of Glory: Spiral of Good and Evil - Unlock Edge Master as a playable character, and you can start fighting on this stage. See the Unlockable Characters portion of this SoulCalibur V guide for more information.

Unknown Forest: Dark Knight - Either beat Episode 7 in Story Mode, or gain enough experience to hit level 21.

Utopia of the Blessed: You'll need to unlock Elysium as a playable character before you can start throwing down on her stage. See the Unlockable Characters portion of this SoulCalibur V guide for more information.

Unlockables: Other

Extra Route: To unlock the "Extra Route" in Arcade Mode, all you need to do is reach a Player Level of 17. Apparently, it doesn't really feature anything other than a lower, fixed camera angle. Kind of underwhelming, really.

Legendary Souls Mode: Basically, this is the "Hard Mode" of SoulCalibur V. It's a title that's well-earned, as it pretty much causes the A.I. to develop a taste for human rage, sweat, and tears. They will counter at every opportunity they get. They will exploit any weaknesses you display. They will do everything in their power to make you fail.

All you have to do to unlock it is complete Story Mode. Enjoy!

Soul of Devil Jin Fighting Style: To unlock the Soul of Devil Jin Fighting Style for SoulCalibur V's Character Creator, either defeat Haradain down the Asia Path of Legendary Souls or lay him out in Quick Battle. Alternatively, you can simply gain enough experience to reach a Player Level of 5.
