  • Upgrading

To upgrade your gear you need salvage, which can be found by opening crates or by searching dead animals or enemy bodies. Once salvage has been foud, it can be used to upgrade all your gear at base or during day camps. The first piece of gear to upgrade is the bow for a lo of reasons: it allows you to be more stealth and deal with enemies while remaining hidden but it can also be useful when facing enemies head on. With such versatility available, you may want to have the bow as strong as possible as soon as you can.

During later parts of the game the bow alone won’t be enough to win confrontations with the enemies: upgrading the rifle will allow you to obtain a good firepower for these fights.

All weapons can only be upgraded to a certain point: to upgrade them further you will need to find relevant parts to unlock a new set of possible upgrades. These parts, unfortunately, can only be found at random by salvaging so the best way to obtain them as soon as possible is by checking out everything you meet during your travels. Once you unlock the fire arrows you will be able to check out some hanging crates. Just burn the net and you will be able to salvage these crates as well.
