Clash of Lords 2 Hack for Jewels, Gold, and Souls

The next big thing in mobile base builders is here. IGG.com’s Clash of Lords 2 puts you in charge of a small village, beginning with a few structures like a Gold Mine, a Gold Vault and a Town Hall (this will be well known for players of Clash of Clans or Boom Beach) . Your goal as Lord of the village is to earn money through your gold mines, or by defeating another village in battle, in order to construct and level up your village’s buildings.

If you haven’t played a mobile game of this genre before, first of all what are you doing, and secondly, Clash of Lords 2 does an excellent job at easing new players into what turns out to be a very rich and complex genre. A faerie-like character takes players through the first few hours of game play, making helpful suggestions like when to construct certain buildings or invade other villages, and explaining how to claim rewards earned through achieving specific objectives.

While there are only a few buildings available to players just starting off, each time the Town Hall gains a level, more options open up, giving players the choice to invest in walls and cannons for defence, or more Hero Halls to allow holding onto larger, more powerful forces.

As opposed to other base builders, where training army troops requires time (or there’s always the option to use real money to speed up the process), Clash of Lords 2’s Hire a Hero system makes sure that you can always jump right into action and invade a village. Combat is based on Heroes and their abilities, rather than waves of units crashing into buildings. Players can choose from a huge pool of Heroes, with abilities ranging from healing your other units to big AoE explosions, all with the propose of helping you conquer and expand your village empire. Using your favourite Heroes repeatedly over time earns them XP, and levelling up Heroes earns them more stats and upgraded abilities.

Cheats, Hints & Tips for Clash of Lords 2 Game

Use the free Jewels you get at the start of the game to begin construction on a Builder’s Hut. Having three Builders instead of two greatly increases the rate your village can grow at, and you can only construct a Builder’s Hut with Jewels that cost real money. Take advantage of the Jewels given to you at the start.

Remember to log in each day. Logging in for multiple days in a row nets you more Jewels and larger rewards!

Put some time into browsing the Heroes available to you, and stick with the ones you choose. Levelling up the proper Heroes early could lead you to stomp your way quickly up the ranks, but constantly changing your Heroes is inefficient XP wise. Remember, its better to level one or two quickly rather than your whole team slowly.

Scope out your enemies village before committing to the battle, and determine the best place to deploy your forces. You normally want to deploy your Heroes as close as possible to the enemies’ defences, taking them out as soon as possible, which leaves the rest of their village defenceless.

Don’t try to battle a village if you think you can’t win. The gold penalty for finding a new opponent is way easier to cope with than a loss, quicker and less expensive too.

Our Review

It’s hard not to talk about Clash of Lords 2 without comparing it to the slew of freemium base building games out there: Age of Empires: Castle Siege, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Empire: Four Kingdoms. The core game play structure shared throughout them all has become so refined over the past few years that Clash of Lords 2 can’t just rely on that core, everyone knows the tricks to making a great base builder by now. To properly review this, we must discuss what Clash of Lords 2 does, if anything, to set itself apart from the pack.

Clash of Lords 2’s Hero system really shakes up the staleness of the base building genre, and from early levels it’s easier to feel a sense of accomplishment in victory, just because you have more interaction with the battlefield. In other base builders, players must level up a considerable amount before unlocking items or spells that directly affect battles. Clash of Lords 2 gives players this power from the get go, and I can see players really enjoying that higher level of interaction.

As you can tell by the screen shots, Clash of Lords 2 sure looks great. The cartoonish in game models are easy to tell apart from one another, which is quite welcome in a game where there’s regularly more than units on the map. And each Hero has its own, unique 3D model. I know, players wouldn’t expect anything less these days, but it’s still something to be admired. Sometimes things get a little hectic in Clash of Lords 2 battles, and its hard to tell what’s going on, but zooming in on sections of the map makes it easier. If you have the choice of playing this on either a tablet or a phone, go for the tablet.

Although I haven’t found the need to use it yet, the 24/7 in game live chat support really goes a long way to assure players they won’t have trouble losing their account, which is nice to know considering some people put a lot of money into Clash of Lords 2. It’s these little touches that Clash of Lords 2 relies on to set itself apart, and I think its working.

The bottom line is that Clash of Lords 2 is a very polished mobile game; it looks great, it sounds great, and I didn’t experience one crash on my outdated and typically buggy iPhone 4s. You would think developers would stop caring about making their games run on obsolete devices, but hey I appreciated it all the same.

The Game-play Ratings

Artwork: I give Clash of Lords 2 a 9/10 for artwork. When developers have a big enough budget for a mobile game, they want it to look amazing, and Clash of Lords 2 is no different. From the loading screen to character sprites to the many in-game menus, all the artwork and visual design elements are in line with the game’s overall style, and this uniformity makes Clash of Lords 2 look marvellous.

Music & SFX: I give Clash of Lords 2 a 9/10 for music and sound effects. It seems obvious that a lot of time and effort has been put into sound design for this game. Each building in Clash of Lords 2 (and as you would expect in a base building game, there’s a lot of buildings around) plays it’s own, unique sound when selecting it. Even little confirmation sounds when pressing a menu item adds a nice personal touch to the game, and this isn’t even mentioning the game’s main theme music, which I love. Excellent sound design all around.

Story & Originality: I give Clash of Lords 2 a 6/10 for story and originality. I appreciated how IGG.com tried to fit some story into a game that honestly doesn’t need one, but after the opening cut scene it was like they threw the story away. If there was more of an overarching story I would feel more compelled to play, and I’m sure that’s the same for many players out there.

General Gameplay: I give Clash of Lords 2 a 6/10 for general game play. There’s not much to criticise here without critiquing the genre as a whole. There are entire periods of time where you can’t do anything but watch and wait, and where’s the fun in that? Sure, fans of base builders are going to enjoy this one, and the Hero abilities give battles in Clash of Lords 2 a strategic depth that isn’t present in its competition, but once you get used to it all it, I found it became a little dull.

Addictiveness: I give Clash of Lords 2 a 10/10 for addictiveness. This is the category where most mobile base builders will thrive, which shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who’s played them before. At the height of my previous Clash of Clans addiction I was frantically checking on my base every two minutes, making sure I didn’t give any builder a break. And Clash of Lords 2 is no different. This is either the game that you install, play for two minutes and forget about, or its the game that you get way too far into, breaks your sanity and causes your friends to talk about “that game” behind your back. My bet’s on the latter.

Overall, I give Clash of Lords 2 an 8/10.
