Your goal of this game is to become the best Dragon Caretaker and ultimately, you can discover the ultra rare Diamond Dragon. In Dragon Story, you are able to collect, breed, battle, and win new dragons and eggs. Each Dragon has its own personality and you can even breed your own unique hybrid dragon of your own choosing.
There are monthly World Events in Dragon Story where you can win exclusive new dragon eggs, habitats and or colorful habitats. Colorful habitats include castle towers, flowers, and more. You will also have a farm where you can grow magical food to feed your dragons. Like humans, Dragon’s also grow through stages. The dragons grow and evolve through four different stages. The currency for this game is silver and gold. Both the silver and gold are given to you automatically when you first start the game. When you run out of silver, you can receive them free from the villagers. The second currency is gold and you start off with 40 gold bars. Gold speeds things up a lot faster if you do not want to wait. To get gold, you can complete quests and try your luck, or, if you don’t want to waste time, you can purchase them from the game. The current top in app purchases is different amounts of gold and starter packs. These gold range’s from the prices $0.99 to as expensive as $14.99.
When you first start Dragon Story, you will be able to acquire one fire egg and one forest egg. The game will lead you through a very short tutorial, where you will learn how to hatch, buy a habitat, and farm food for your Dragon’s. The first egg you will have to hatch will be a fire egg, this contains a Fire Dragon, where you will also be prompted to buy him/her a habitat. After you purchased the habitat, you can start growing food in your farm. At the beginning, you will be able to only farm impruberries, buffbeets, and fireapples. Impruberries cost 30 coins, every 30 seconds and contains 6 foods. Buffbeets requires 120 coins, takes 3 minutes, and yields 20 foods. While fireapples costs 650 coins, takes 1 hour, and yields 100 foods. After you successfully farmed food for your Fire Dragon, you will then ask to give him or her a companion. You will be asked to hatch a Forest Dragon, where they will need a habitat matching its own color. After that, you have the option of seeing how gold works in the game. By using gold, everything will become faster and be completed. In order to level up in the game, you will need Experience Points. You can gather experience points by completing tasks such as purchasing habitats, clearing away trees, and collecting harvests and more. After your dragon has grown more mature, you can place up to two dragons in one habitat. When you reach level 5, you can upgrade your habitat to allow more dragons to live in it.
The best feature about this game is the ability to help and receive help from other people. You can visit other Dragon caretaker’s habitat to gain experience points, while if others visit your habitats, they will be able to leave behind silver or even gift you gold! While linking your game to a Facebook account isn’t required, and creating a Storm8 account to update your status in the game and make new friends, this would surely help you in the long run when you need to upgrade your habitats for your lovely Dragons.

Also, be sure to make sure that in your game settings area that your push notifications are on for breeding! As you progress and reach higher levels, you will be breeding your dragons. These eggs would take much longer to hatch due to your high level, so you would like the game to tell you when it finished breeding and hatching.
By level 10, make sure you save at least 12,000 silver coins so you can upgrade to a larger farm. The large farm will take 3 hours to complete unless you use gold. Further on the game, you will need to clear away debris and trees, and these will cost as low as 50 silver coins to 5000 silver coins to clear them away. You need to clear them away to expand the area. It is also wise to stock up on silver coins because you will need to buy the evolve temple in the market to evolve your dragon!
Get a second dragon’s nest. Getting a second dragon’s nest will make things much easier for you! Last and final tip would be to remember to leave a message on another player’s wall when you visit their habitat! That way, they can return the favor, and if they don’t have you added, you can also leave your username.
Overall, I am super pleased to play Dragon Story. Although the process is super tedious, it is similar to many other farming games out there. I really enjoy the part where we can raise and breed Dragons; it is super exciting, as we cannot do this in real life. Dragon story brings two genres into one game, farming and action. In order to make our dragon’s big and strong; we have to farm food for them. In the game, we are also given the option to battle other dragon’s to receive coins and prizes.
The graphics of this game is really smooth and vibrant. The colors really pop out and no two dragons look alike. The excitement and anticipation of waiting to see what your breeded egg will look like is one of the greatest rewards. Maybe by accident you will breed the ultra rare Diamond Dragon? The music in Dragon Story is also very dreamy. It’s calming, and fits the scene and sitting very well. The tutorial for this game, unlike many others, is very short and to the point, letting players experience everything within 3 minute.
As good as this game is, there are several cons. The first con would be the pop up ads that would constantly show up during game play. If the user pressed it, the user would be prompted to a download page of an ad or another game. While I understand this is the main revenue for Dragon Story, I feel that the ads they choose to put in their game should be related to them as well. The second con would be the pricing. The prices for this game are unreasonable, whether it is about silver coins or gold. Many people also complained that they lost interest when they saw how long it takes to complete everything. If Storm8 would give Dragon Story more options of free ways to obtain gold, whether through quests or anything else, more users would be playing this game more.
Artwork: 8/10 for Artwork. The artwork is colorful and vibrant. The game is based off of the wonderful and mythical Dragon’s, how can it be more awesome than that? Along with the hundreds of different looks and styles of appearances of the Dragon’s and habitats, this is a unique game.
Music & SFX: 8/10 for Music, it is whimsical and fun. The music and SFX of this game gives off a whimsical feeling. It enchants the player and allows them to feel relax and comfortable.
Story & Originality: 7/10 for story and originality. There has been other games featuring similar stories, but Dragon Story by far has the greatest interface, artwork, and sfx.
General Gameplay: 9/10 for General Gameplay. This game was short, to the point, and it wasted no time in sucking you in. Furthermore, interface was simple so that anyone can just pick it up and play.
Addictiveness: 7/10 for addictiveness. Due to the long time of breeding and hatching eggs once you reach a higher level, sometimes it becomes unbearable to wait. This kills the addictiveness factor and makes the player want to play another game meanwhile. During this process, the player might be hooked onto another game by then.
Overall Rating: 8/10 for Dragon Story! You should play this game for the mythical Dragon’s and lovely background music.
