How to duplicate items in 'Borderlands 2'

In the original Borderlands, one of the most often used loopholes in the game had to be the item duplication. With two users playing an online game together, a few quick steps would allow players to easily share a cherished weapon that they’ve found.

This same trick still exists in Borderlands 2, and we’re here to show you how to do it. There are a few different methods to do it, but they’re all essentially deviations of the one we’re bringing you today.

A player will essentially need to select the weapon they wish to duplicate, and toss it to the ground. The player that drops the weapon then needs to go to the dashboard or XMB, and then join the game again.

Since the game doesn’t save when you “quit” in this method, the other player will be able to pick up the weapon you just dropped and it’ll still be in your inventory upon returning to the game.

Have you tried the item duplication trick in Borderlands 2? What’s your favorite weapon that you’ve discovered in the game? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss Borderlands 2 in our forums.
