As you control your 'Inkling' through the game, there will be various bosses to fight. If you need some help, we've compiled this boss guide to help you through to the end of the game!

Splatoon (Wii U) Review

Dj Octavi0

This is the last boss. This is the longest boss battle. The first thing you need to remember is to dodge his homing missiles by attacking them with your rifle. Then, watch out for the robotic hands he'll send your way. Shoot one of the hands so it flies back and punches him. Once you can catch up to The Octobot King, he'll try to shoot you with a charged missile. Shoot it so it will turn back towards the boss.

Next, Dj Octavi0 will use a ink laser in addition to the other attacks. He'll charge up for this, so you'll know when to do. Do the same strategy as before to get to the third phase of the fight. In the third phase, watch out for balloons that cover the ground in ink so you can use them to swim away. You'll also need to destroy the boss' spheres ASAP before they can spawn enemies. Other than these changes, keep following the initial strategy.

The final phase is the same, but he'll attack more and be faster. Take your time and play it safe in order to defeat him!

The Dreaded Octonozzle

This boss fights with evil ink, but you can beat him by following this strategy. First, you'll need to shoot at the suction cup areas on his neck. After you shoot this, you can then shoot the side of his head and swim up in order to hit his tentacle, the vulnerable spot. This is how you can defeat him. You'll need to do this twice.

Remember, while you are fighting you'll need to dodge his cannon attacks. As you continue to fight him, he'll continue to quicker. Dodge whenever possible and take it slow to reap the rewards – a Zapfish.

The Mighty Octostomp

This boss is very large, and likes to charge at you in order to crush you. In order to defeat this guy, you need to attack his vulnerable spot. The first thing to do in this battle is to cover the ground in paint, so you can swim away from him as a squid. This way, you'll avoid his charges. Once he lands on his face, shoot at the panels on his sides and eventually the tentacle on his back, using the squid ability.

Keep shooting and he'll start shrinking! He gets tougher as he gets smaller though, so what out. He'll also start to his faster. But as long as you stay calm and keep going, you'll beat him! Once you defeat him, you'll get a Zapfish and a Sunken Scroll.

The Rampaging Octowhirl

This is a smaller boss who is really fast. It has two main attacks – an ink sprinkler and a charge attack. Try to avoid both in order to avoid damage and setbacks. In order to defeat the Octowhirl, you'll need to shoot ink all around the area first. This is so you can swim around, and also so the boss will get stuck in it, revealing his weak tentacle. Shoot the tentacle. Beware – every time you do, the boss gets a little faster.

The Ravenous Octomaw

This boss is one of the most challenging. It will try to eat you by dipping into his ink and then popping up. You need to dodge by watching for his fins. When it's teeth are surrounding you, shoot out a tooth and escape by swimming. After you do this, the boss will appear with a missing tooth. Shoot out the remaining teeth over a few turns and when the teeth are gone, throw a grenade or bomb into his mouth. This stuns him so you can shoot his tentacle on the tail, killing him and getting a Zapfish.
