Like the other games in the Mario & Luigi series, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team features several different badges that the brothers can equip to give them a special skill. This skill can apply a buff to the characters or a de-buff to enemies when it is used. These badge effects can only be used when the player fills up their “Badge Meter”, found at the bottom of the screen. There are six badges for each brother, and they can be combined to create 36 different badge effects.
Restores 30% of Mario and Luigi's HP.
Restores 50% of Mario and Luigi's HP.
Restores 80% of Mario and Luigi's HP, revives fallen characters and cures negative status effects.
Restores 30% of Mario and Luigi's BP.
Restores 50% of Mario and Luigi's BP.
Restores 80% of Mario and Luigi's BP.
Hits a single enemy for 30 damage.
Hits a single enemy for 80 damage.
Hits a single enemy for 160 damage.
Hit all enemies for 20 damage.
Hit all enemies for 50 damage.
Hit all enemies for 100 damage.
Forms a barrier that makes Mario and Luigi invincible for 3 attacks.
Forms a barrier that makes Mario and Luigi invincible for 6 attacks.
For 3 turns, Mario and Luigi will be immune to becoming KO'd.
Defense is increased temporarily.
Increases the Badge Meter's charging rate during battle.
Power is increased temporarily.
Enemy's power is decreased temporarily.
Enemy's defense is decreased temporarily.
All enemies are made dizzy (does not work on certain enemies; i.e. bosses).
Removes all beneficial status effects from enemies.
Foes will be turned into a type of mushroom if possible.
Chance for lucky hits is temporarily increased.
Will either fully heal Mario and Luigi or bring both their HP to 1.
Will completely charge the Badge Meter or empty it.
Everyone in the battle has a 50% chance of becoming KO'd when hit.
Gives everyone in the battle a random status effect.
Everyone in the battle has their power temporarily increased.
Everyone in the battle takes damage.
Enemies will drop more coins.
Enemies will grant 30% more EXP.
Randomly applies an effect from an item in the player's inventory.
Chance for lucky hits is temporarily increased.
The status of the characters is returned to what it was the previous turn.
Makes all enemies stop temporarily.
