Call of Duty – Black Ops: How to Quick Scope

In the previous editions of Call of Duty, quick scoping was an extremely popular way to snipe people, and was especially popular on Youtube videos.. to let everyone know how awesome you are!!

But can you quick scope in Call of Duty: Black Ops? Well, sorry to say it, but Treyarch took a very firm stance against quick scoping and made it nearly impossible to perform in their game, calling it cheap, and unwelcome by the community.

They took away quick scoping in two ways. First, the Slight of Hand Pro perk (which allows you to aim down sights faster) doesn’t work at all on sniper class weapons. Second, when you zoom in with a sniper rifle, the scope bounces around a little and isn’t on the exact spot you were dialed into.  This essentially means you have to aim down the scope, then center your target again before you can shoot.

Personally I like this, because it’s much more realistic to how a sniper rifle should perform. Anyone that’s ever used something remotely close to a long ranged rifle in real life knows that aiming down a scope is no “quick” and easy task.
