The Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim: How to Cure Vampirism

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, if you come in contact with a vampire, each time they land a blow on you, you have the chance to contract the Sanguinare Vampiris disease. This disease can be cured with any Cure Disease potion or spell, however if you let it run its course you will become a vampire, and your curing options get harder.

Note: Make sure you don’t reach stage 4 of vampirism while doing this, otherwise humans will kill you on sight. You need to feed in order to keep your stage from rising. To feed, you just need to sneak up on a sleeping human, choose the pickpocket option, and you’ll see the option to suck blood.

To cure full vampirism, head to Morthal and look for a man named Falion. Speak to him and he will tell you that he needs a filled Black Soul Gem in order to perform the ritual. Falion sells the Black Soul Gem, and the Soul Trap spell as well, so purchase both of these if you don’t have them already.

To fill the Black Soul Gem, you need to activate the spell on a human and then kill them within 60 seconds. Make sure not to kill anyone detrimental, like shop keepers, etc.

Speak to Falion again with your filled Black Soul Gem, and he will tell you to meet him at dawn at a spot near his house. Once you meet there, he will perform the ritual and you will be cured of vampirism.

An alternate method to cure vampirism is to become a werewolf, which instantly cures vampirism.
