XCOM – Enemy Unknown: Unlock Secret Hero Units

There are some hidden hero units you can unlock in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, one for each major unit type.

These secret units are bad ass, however using them will keep you from getting achievements or trophies as long as you use them.

Eh, whatever.. might as well have some fun and beat some ass right?

To unlock these hidden units, either go to the Barracks or the Deploy screen and select the View Soldiers option. Choose any soldier and select Customize.

Change the name of the unit to the names listed below to unlock the hidden hero units.

Joe Kelly – This is a heavy unit. Joe Kelly is a comic book author that has worked on staples like X-Men, Superman, Green Lantern, Spider-Man, and more.

Ken Levine – This is a Sniper unit. Ken Levine is the co-founder of Irrational Games, which is primarily known for their successful Bioshock games.

Otto Zander – This is an Assault unit. Otto Zander is the hero of GuavaMoment’s XCOM Let’s Play series from the Something Awful Forums.

Sid Meier – This is a Support unit. Sid Meier is the co-founder of Firaxis, and is primarily known for the Civilization game series.
