Crafting in Assassin’s Creed 3 can be a nice way to make extra money, and to get some nice weapons and upgrades.
In order to craft items though, you need to level up your artisans, which require you to do Homestead missions. This can be fairly time consuming, but it will pay off in the long run.
These recipes typically require raw materials that you can collect from hunting and skinning, from other artisans, from other crafted materials, and a few require a more rare material which is the Special Iron Ingots. These can be obtained by completing Miner missions, and there are also some in a locked chest behind your manor house.
