Skyrim: How to Reset Your Skill Tree

You were never able to reset your skill tree (aka Respec) in Skyrim before. If you wanted to roll a different class, you were forced to start a new character.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve put a lot of hours into my main character. Not to mention the hours I would have to spend traveling to the places I’ve been to a million times on a new character. It’s just not super appealing to me.

Well, Bethesda has finally granted our request in the latest Dragonborn expansion.

Without ruining any of the story, once you complete the main quest in Dragonborn, you’ll be able to turn in a Dragon Soul in order to set one skill tree. For example, if you are tired of One Handed and want to try out Two Handed, you pay a Dragon Soul to put your One Handed skills from the tree back into your available points to spend on Two Handed, or whatever else you may be interested in.

If you haven’t tried out Dragonborn yet, I think you’ll be in for a nice surprise. It adds more functionality than story compared to the Dawnguard expansion. New shouts, new equipment, a new island to explore, and resetting your skill tree alone makes it near worth the price for me anyway.
