Assassin’s Creed 3: How to Assassinate Enemies

In Assassin’s Creed 3, you can (of course) assassinate people without ever having to enter full on combat. Assassinating your enemies quietly can also help you get through missions a lot more undetected as well, since you can pick everyone off one by one with no one being the wiser.

To assassinate someone, you just need to sneak up behind them and tap the attack button (X on PS3, A on Xbox 360) for a stealthy assassination. If you want to perform a more gruesome assassination that will alert all nearby enemies, then hold R1 on the PS3 or RB on the Xbox 360 while you press the attack button to perform a high profile assassination.

You can also perform an air assassination, which is also a high profile assassination that will alert nearby enemies. To perform an air assassination, you just need to have your enemy in your sites as you drop from a height and press the attack button before you land. This can sometimes depend on what you drop from though. Dropping from roof tops for example allows you to drop almost directly down for an air assassination, but dropping from a tree requires your enemy to be out just a little bit. Also, if you’re not too high up, you can perform the assassination without even dropping down first.

The important thing is to keep an eye on your hidden blades, as they’ll light up white when the target can be assassinated.
