Over the years, we've gotten used to Gamescom being one of the biggest weeks in the gaming calendar for PlayStation. That's not entirely true in 2015, though, as Sony has opted to forgo its annual press conference at the German show in favour of Paris Games Week a little later in the year. The decision seemed sound at the time, with the Cologne convention in close proximity to E3, but with Microsoft opting to go all-out during the event, we're beginning to question the strategy.
Either way, with the industry descending on Europe, you can expect some major PlayStation news – even if the majority of it will be coming from third-party publishers. EA's holding a press conference later this week where you can expect new information on Star Wars: Battlefront and Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, while Square Enix and Activision will both be hosting livestreams for Final Fantasy XV and Call of Duty: Black Ops III respectively. All that's left for us to tell you are the times.

What do we expect to see?
Well, you're going to see lots of FIFA 16 that's for sure. In addition to the ever-popular soccer simulation, expect more on Star Wars: Battlefront and Mirror's Edge Catalyst. We're also hoping for a better look at Mass Effect: Andromeda.

What do we expect to see?
With the game having been in development for almost a decade, we're hoping to see plenty more of Final Fantasy XV. Above anything, though, we just want a darn release date – and we want the publisher to actually commit to it this time.

What do we expect to see?
You'll no doubt be seeing new Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer modes and single player gameplay during this stream. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's blowout at last year's convention was pretty in-depth, so expect something similar for this year's game.
Which streams will you be joining us for this year? Is there any news that you're particularly eager to hear at Gamescom 2015? Are you disappointed that Sony's not holding its customary conference? Listen to some Rammstein in the comments section below.
