With a successful karaoke game formula nailed, it wasn't hard to predict that Sony would start churning out updates for the series as often as they could get away with. Now we're on the sixth instalment of new songs. We've had duets and pop and rock. Now it's the turn of anthems.
You'd expect the likes of the Manics' Design For Life and Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis. Unfortunately these appear to be anthems chosen by 12 year old girls and cheesy gay club-goers. How else can you explain the likes of Dead Or Alive's You Spin Me Round, The Weather Girls' It's Raining Men and the Pussycat Dolls' Don't Cha?

Then there are just poor choices that are about as anthemic as the local school's choir. Leanne Rimes' Can't Fight The Moonlight and Charlotte Church with Crazy Chick, for instance.
Basically, ladies do alright with Singstar Anthems. The boys have got about three of the 20 (down from the usual 30) tracks included to choose from and that's if they don't mind singing Queen, Take That and the Scissor Sisters.
