SingStar Bollywood review

Dec 10, 2007

Usually you judge SingStar games by the quality of the track list, so when faced with 30 hits from Hindi cinema it all becomes a bit tricky. We’ve seen Mother India, but that’s about it. The songs all come from relatively modern Bollywood films such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Guru. Many even come from the same film, and are presented in typical SingStar style with clips of the films in the background. The one difference is that lyrics are put up phonetically so the songs can be sung by those who don’t know Hindi, Urdu or Punjabi. This makes a very unique experience, but also one that’s incredibly hard, so taking away SingStar’s strength as a party game accessible to all. Consequently we suggest you leave this to those who love and know their Hindi. They will warmly receive this bold addition to the SingStar series. We’ll just wait for a Eurovision version instead.
