You may have heard — or experienced for yourself! — that Fallout 4 is not a particularly easy game. For those looking for a slight edge to help them through it, a powerful new glitch has been discovered that will allow you to manipulate the Fallout 4 economy to your advantage.
This tip comes via IGN's Fallout 4 Wiki, which lists a glitch that it calls "infinite money bartering." Here's how it works, step by step:
First, gather a few hundred bottle caps. Then, go to any merchant in the game who sells ammunition. Select any ammunition type, and purchase merchant's entire supply of that type.
Now here's where things get weird. Once you've purchased all the ammo of a certain type, sell back ONE (1) of that ammo type you just bought. Don't finalize the deal, the however. After selling that one unit of ammo, then sell the full stack of ammo, again, without finalizing the deal. Somehow the game doesn't comprehend this and will let you keep the one unit you bought in your inventory, and you'll be able to sell it back infinitely, over and over.
There are a few caveats to this glitch. First, you'll only be able to earn as many bottle caps as that specific merchant has on them at the time. If you want to earn more, you'll need to find another merchant. And there's the second, caveat: It sounds like this glitch is itself, well, glitchy, in that it doesn't work with every single merchant in the game. You'll need to test it out to discover who will and will not hand over their wallet full of caps.
Either way, it's a nice, easy way to give yourself a boost if you're struggling in the wasteland. Just be sure to give it a try before the inevitable patch that fixes things.
