Destiny: The Taken King Guide On How To Get Ecthar, Sword of Oryx

This guide provides detail on how to get to Ecthar, Sword of Oryx. This is pretty simple, you just need to take care of small things. So without much ado, let's start the guide on how to get to Ecthar, Sword of Oryx. During the A Sword Reforged quest, you are tasked to take out Ecthar, Sword of Oryx, who resides behind a closed door, in the Asylum on the Dreadnaught.

Many Destiny players are finding it difficult to open this door. Worry not we have found a solution: Head to 'The Founts' area on Dreadnaught patrol, and you will come to a room with a large chained mechanism in it. At the back of this area, is a large door, guarded by 3 'Warden's Knights' each with a different elemental shield.

To open the door and get to Ecthar, you need to kill all 3 Knights outside the door with 1 super. I advice you to shocklocked them all. It will open the door instantly with no dialogue. Ecthar can only be damaged by your sword.
