Ultimate Achievements List: Boost Your Gamerscore

Nothing says Xbox 360 like it’s Achievements, and if you find your Gamerscore lacking compared to your mates then you’ll definitely want to follow this list: featuring the best, easiest and quickest Achievements to grab up to 10,000 Gamerscore in just one day.

King Kong

Gamerpoints: 1000
Time: 4-6 Hours
Missable Achievements: None

One of Xbox 360’s earliest titles also yields easy achievements to get you started. On the title screen where you have Play, Options and Extras to choose from, hold down both shoulder and both bumper buttons and press Down, Up, Y, X, Down, Down, Y and Y. Then a cheat menu appears. Enter 8wonder and you’ll have invincibility in the game and, fortunately, this cheat doesn’t disable achievements. All you need to do is push through the game and you’ll unlock every achievement, as they’re all tied into story progress.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Gamerpoints: 1000
Time: 5 Minutes
Missable Achievements: None
We all know about this by now. During the opening level, which doubles up as a tutorial, just rack up a 50 hit combo. You’ll unlock the five achievements for the 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 hit combos and you’re done. The easiest 1000 gamerpoints you’ll ever get. If you somehow screw it up and get hit, just restart it and do it again, as the start of the game is the easiest point to get the achievements.

Terminator Salvation

Gamerpoints: 1000
Time: 4-6 hours
Missable Achievements: None
To get the achievements for Terminator Salvation, you need to play through the game on the Hardest difficulty. Fortunately it’s neither particularly hard nor particularly long, and almost all the tricky ‘bits’ are dealt with by ensuring you have a healthy supply of ammo and pipe bombs at hand at all times.

TMNT

Gamerpoints: 1000
Time: 4-6 hours
Missable Achievements: None
It’s an easy game to get all the achievements for, with only two sticking out as potentially missable. For Clean Sweep (50 gamerpoints – complete a level without doing any damage), you need to sweep through a level without taking a hit. As you might expect, the first level is the best one for this. Just keep playing through it until you get it down without taking a hit, remember that you can take as long as you want.

For the Get Your First Coin achievement (15 gamerpoints – get your first coin), it’s only possible when you play through the game a second time after you complete it. Just run through the first level and you’ll notice coins scattered everywhere. Grab one to unlock the achievement.

Fight Night Round 3

Gamerpoints: 1000
Time: 6 hours
Missable Achievements: None
Fight Night Round 3 has achievements that are all related to its story mode and are impossible to miss, so you just need to complete the game once to unlock them all. Master the art of parrying and then counter-punching to make this even easier than it already is.

Jumper

Gamerpoints: 950
Time: 4 hours
Missable Achievements: Yes
Most of the achievements are extremely easy but there are a few you might miss. You need to get 45,000 experience points to get The Buffet but remember you can start a new playthrough and your experience points carry over. Long combos tend to unlock more experience points. The other one that might prove tricky is Hard Target (50 gamerpoints – Play through the game without dying) but if you turn off your 360 whenever you die, it won’t be ‘recorded’ as a death. It might seem long-winded but the game itself is only 2-3 hours long, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe

Gamerpoints: 925
Time: 8 hours
Missable Achievements: Yes
All the achievements are really easy to unlock, as they focus on playing through the game (which is extremely easy) and getting all the collectables (which isn’t particularly hard). The only achievement you likely won’t unlock will be Fury’s Fourteen, which is unlocked when you upgrade all the characters. This needs at least one more playthrough, so it’s your call whether it’s worth it to get the remaining 75 gamerpoints.

Alice: Madness Returns

Gamerpoints: 325
Time: 12 hours
Missable Achievements: Yes
There are plenty of achievements you get just by playing through the game. These are No Happy Returns (10 gamerpoints – return to Wonderland), Snicker-Snack (10 gamerpoints – acquire Vorpal Blade), Ground Pork (10 gamerpoints – acquire pepper grinder), End of Innocence (10 gamerpoints – complete Vale of Tears), Hatters Demise (10 gamerpoints – complete Wonderland chapter 1), Strange Hobby (10 gamerpoints – acquire Hobby Horse), Grim Folly (10 gamerpoints – Complete Wonderland chapter 2), Death by Darjeeling (10 gamerpoints – Acquire the teapot cannon), When Worlds Collide (10 gamerpoints – complete Wonderland chapter 3), The Harder They Fall (10 gamerpoints – complete Wonderland chapter 4), The End of Daze (10 gamerpoints – complete Wonderland chapter 5), The Strong Survive (25 gamerpoints – complete the game on Easy) and The Imaginative Endure (50 gamerpoints – complete the game on Hard).

Right after you grab the pepper grinder and get the Ground Pork achievement, you have the chance to get Grind Em All (10 gamerpoints – Kill 5 Bolterflies with the pepper grinder) before moving on. After the Vale of Tears rail station and defeating the enemies there, you’ll also be given the opportunity to upgrade your weapon. Doing so gets you Strike A Deal (10 gamerpoints – upgrade a weapon).

After you pick up the Hobby Horse, you’ll meet some ice snarks. Use Y, X, Y combos on them and you’ll unlock Weapon Schizo (10 gamerpoints – Hobby Horse to Vorpal Blade to Hobby Horse combo).

When you get to the caterpillars template at the end of Chapter 3, look to the left and use shrink to see the Dark Horse logo behind the stone structure. This will get you the Eyes on the Size achievement (10 gamerpoints – Find the hidden Shrink Sense decal). Chapter 4 is full of card guards, defeat 52 of them to get the 52 Pick-Up achievement (10 gamerpoints – defeat 52 card guards).

You should get No Quarter! No Mercy! Achievement during normal play (20 gamerpoints – defeat 100 ruin enemies). You can also get Calm In The Face Of Death during normal play (30 gamerpoints – while on your last rose, defeat 5 enemies without activating hysteria).

When you get down to your last rose of health when the screen flashes red but don’t click in the Left Analogue stick to activate hysteria. Instead, kill five enemies in this state. When you’re floating across steam vents, spent 7 uninterrupted minutes floating on one steam vent to get Venting Frustration (10 gamerpoints – spent 7 minutes on a steam vent).

After completing the first chapter, head back to the main menu and press X. Equip the new dress you unlocked to get Dress-Ups (10 gamerpoints – equip a different domain dress).

There are also achievements for fully upgrading a single weapon which gets you More Than A Mouthful (20 gamerpoints – fully upgrade a weapon) and hitting 4 enemies with a single Hobby Horse smash by pressing Y, Y, Y will get you Neighslayer (10 gamerpoints – hit four enemies with a single Hobby Horse smash).

Duke Nukem Forever

Gamerpoints: 635
Time: 6-8 hours
Missable Achievements: Yes
First of all, start on Normal. There are achievements for completing the game on the harder difficulties but this will crank up the amount of time taken. Completing the game on Normal will get you Let’s Rock (30 Gamerpoints – Complete campaign on Normal), Piece of Cake (20 Gamerpoints – Complete campaign on Easy) and Special Thanks (5 Gamerpoints – Watch the credits the whole way through). So that’s 55 gamerpoints.

There are also the boss achievements, which you can’t miss on your playthrough. These are A Good Dam Fight (25 Gamerpoints – defeat Battlelord on Hoover Dam), Beating the One-Eyed Worm (35 Gamerpoints – defeat Energy Leech), Not Bad For A Human (40 Gamerpoints – defeat Alien Queen), Octacide (25 Gamerpoints – defeat Octaking), One-Eyed Freak (10 Gamerpoints – defeat Cycloid) and Pit Champion (25 Gamerpoints – defeat Battlelord in Las Vegas). So your total for playing through the game will be at least 215 gamerpoints.

Next up are the alien kill achievements, which you should get on your first playthrough. These are Extermination (25 gamerpoints – Kill 50 Aliens), Annihilation (40 gamerpoints – Kill 100 aliens), Nuclear Devastation (50 gamerpoints – kill 250 aliens), Baron von Nukem (20 gamerpoints – shoot down 20 alien fighters) and Big Guns, Big Ships (10 gamerpoints – blow up 5 enemy gunships or dropships). This takes you up to 360 gamerpoints.

Now we’re getting to the achievements you might miss. For Downtown Barrel Beatdown (15 gamerpoints – kill 10 aliens with tossed objects), pick up and throw any items at aliens to kill them. This is easiest at the start of the game when you’re in Duke’s casino, as the combat is up close and there are lots of throwable items.

For Duke Angry, Duke Smash (20 gamerpoints – kill 15 aliens with melee attacks on steroids), whenever you pick up steroids, wait until there’s a horde of pigcops before using them. It will likely take three or four steroid uses to get this achievement. Also, wait until you have a beer before using steroids, then drink the beer and use the steroids. This will also get you Flagon of Chuckles (5 gamerpoints – Drink a beer), Juiced (5 gamerpoints – Take steroids) and Substance Abuser (10 gamerpoints – Drink beer while on steroids or vice versa).

Finally, when you get to drive the forklift, run over 6 aliens. Easy enough and it will get you Fork the Pork (10 gamerpoints – kill 6 aliens with the forklift). This takes you to 425 gamerpoints.

There are other easy achievements that are easy to grab. Using the Holoduke will get you He’s Got A Hologram (5 gamerpoints – Use a Holoduke). Nabbing 30 headshots will get you On the Noggin (25 gamerpoints – kill 30 aliens with headshots). Running over 15 aliens with the monster truck in the monster truck levels will get you the Road Rage achievement (15 gamerpoints – kill 15 aliens with monster truck).

Also, when you get the trip mines, charge enemies and throw a tripmine it lands on an alien. This gets you Sticky Bomb Like You (10 gamerpoints – put a trip mine on a live alien) and do it ten more times to get the Trapper achievement (20 gamerpoints – kill 10 aliens with trip mines). Your gamerpoints total will now be 475.

When you get the freeze ray gun, use it to freeze 15 aliens and execute them by pressing X up close to get Freeze Well (20 gamerpoints – kill 15 frozen aliens). Remember the ammo for the freeze ray regenerates when it’s not being used. Execute 5 more aliens this way and you’ll also get Judge, Jury, Executioner (20 gamerpoints – Execute 20 aliens).

You get the opportunity through the game to footstomp smaller aliens including ones you have shrunk with the shrink-ray. Just look at them and press X to footstomp then and kill 12 to grab the Hippy-Stomper achievement (20 gamerpoints – foot stomp 12 aliens).

Finally, the FBT achievement is awarded when you get knocked down 10 times. You get knocked down as part of some cutscenes but it won’t be enough. Look for enemies who knock you down as part of their attack patterns – the Alien Queen in the arena and the Cycloid at the start are perfect examples. Get knocked down enough times and the FBT achievement will pop (10 gamerpoints – get knocked down 10 times). This brings you up to 535 gamerpoints thus far.

Then there are random achievements scattered throughout. Look for the aliens that fire white goo at you. You need to be hit 10 times by these projectiles to unlock the I Need A Towel achievement (10 gamerpoints – get hit by 10 pregnator bombs). Doodling something on the whiteboard right at the start of the game unlocks Drawrings (10 gamerpoints – doodle on the whiteboard) as does picking poo out of the toilet and throwing it to get Turd Burglar (10 gamerpoints – find a piece of poo and steal it).

When heading to the TV studio at the start, run up to the food vending machine and his X 10 times. Then eat all the food from the floor that’s fallen out to get Noms (10 gamerpoints – eat 10 pieces of food).

After the TV show is cancelled, knockout the whiner backstage for Nobody Likes A Whiner (5 gamerpoints – knock out the whiner backstage). When you fight the Cycloid at the start of the game in the football stadium, look in the sky and shoot down the blimp for the Sunday, Black Sunday achievement (5 gamerpoints – shoot down the blimp above the stadium).

All in all, this gives you an easy 585 gamerpoints without too much sweat. If you really want to push yourself though, you can attempt Gunslinger (50 gamerpoints – carry the gold pistol throughout SP campaign) at the same time. This means you HAVE to keep your default pistol for the entire game. It’s not that tough but the difficulty comes in not accidentally swapping your weapon out, as you have to keep swapping your other weapon to ensure you have enough ammo to ensure having the gold pistol isn’t a huge handicap. Keep the gold pistol until the end though and that’s 635 gamerpoints. Not bad after 15 years of development.

LA Noire

Gamerpoints: 900
Time: 20 hours
Missable Achievements: Yes
Before you begin, bear in mind there’s an achievement for 5-starring every case. You want to avoid causing vehicle damage, civilian injuries or city damage and the easiest way to do this is to hold Y next to your car to make your partner drive. This skips the driving and thus means you won’t accidentally cause damage. However, doing so means you can’t complete street crime cases, as you won’t be notified of them.

There are a lot of story related achievements that you’ll get just by completing the game so we’ll focus on the ones that aren’t. During ‘The Driver’s Seat’, you’ll have to chase a fleeing suspect. Get close enough and you’ll get a prompt to mash A. Tackle the suspect and you’ll get Asphalt Jungle (15 gamerpoints – tackle and chase down a fleeing suspect).

Another method to stopping suspects is to aim your gun over them until the reticle fills up, which unlocks Not So Hasty (15 gamerpoints – stop a fleeing suspect with a warning shot). During the same case, when you head to Margaret Black’s house, solve the heater puzzle outside to unlock The Plot Thickens (15 gamerpoints – find and solve an inspection puzzle). Before you talk to Margaret, get the photograph signed by Nicole from the bedroom.

When the topic comes up during your conversation with Margaret, select Lie followed by the photo to unlock The Straight Dope (15 gamerpoints – use evidence to prove a lie).

You can also get The Third Degree achievement (15 gamerpoints – correctly answer every branch) in the same case. With Nate Wilkey, select Truth, Truth, Doubt, Truth. With Margaret Black, select Truth, Truth, Truth, Truth, Lie (select concealed photo), Truth. Finally, with Frank Morgan, pick Lie (select live hog receipt), Doubt.

There’s also an achievement for find every clue in a case. So again, it’s best to do this in The Driver’s Seat. There are 14 clues you need in total. There are 6 are the freight depot – the abandoned vehicle blood splashes (talk to the officer), receipt for live hog (boot of car), wallet (by evidence A), glasses (by evidence A) and pipe (by evidence B). Also check the blood in the car so that later in the case, a further clue will pop, when you’re informed the blood isn’t human. The remaining seven clues are in Margaret Black’s house. You want Cavanagh’s Matchbook (dining room table), Instaheat flyer (kitchen table), Instaheat receipt (next to the flyer), glasses case (Adrian Black’s bedroom), concealed message (photo in Adrian Black’s bedroom), train ticket (Adrian Black’s wardrobe) and water heater (complete the puzzle outside the house, on the right-hand wall of the house). All this will get you The Up And Up (30 gamerpoints – complete a case with a 5-star rating).

As you drive around during each case, you’ll be notified about street crimes that are occurring. Drive to them to begin the street crime mission. Complete one to unlock A Cop On The Corner (15 gamerpoints – complete a street crime case), complete 20 to unlock Johnny On The Spot (30 gamerpoints – complete 20 street crime cases) and complete all of them to unlock The Long Arm of The Law (30 gamerpoints – complete all street crime cases).

Then there are the case specific achievements. In A Marriage Made In Heaven, check the bin outside the café of the murder to the left to find the bloody knife to get Stab-Rite (15 gamerpoints – find the bloodstained knife on your first sweep). In Fallen Idol, you can get The Shadow (15 gamerpoints – tail a suspect without being spotted) as long as you don’t skip the event and when you barge into the fight in the motel, you can also get Keep A Lid On It (15 gamerpoints – win a brawl without losing your hat). You can also get Traffic Stop (15 gamerpoints – disable a suspect vehicle with help from your partner) during one of the vehicle chases in this case but there are plenty of chances to get this achievement during the game.

In The Red Lipstick Murder case, talk to Dick McColl at La Bamba Club. When it comes to ‘suspect seen with victim’, choose Truth. This will unlock Red Heels (15 gamerpoints – get Dick McColl to give up the license plate).

In the Set Up case, follow Candy without using cover on RB or going incognito, just keep your distance at an absolute maximum. This will net you The Moose (15 gamerpoints – follow Candy Edwards without going incognito). In Manifest Destiny case, when talking to Felix after killing the rooftop shooter, choose Doubt then Lie, using the sniper’s pocketbook as evidence, to get the Fighting Sixth achievement (15 gamerpoints – get Felix to give up names of involved marines).

During A Walk In Elysian Fields case, when talking to Leland Monroe, choose Doubt, Lie (selecting Elysian Fields Flyer as evidence), Doubt then Lie (selecting poor cement quality) to get the Huckster achievement (15 gamerpoints – outwit Leland Monroe).

Other achievements – use four intuition points in a single interview to unlock The Hunch, it doesn’t matter what case you do this in (30 gamerpoints – use four intuition points in a single interview session). If you smash your car enough and cause enough damage to the city in a single case, you’ll eventually pop Public Menace (30 gamerpoints – rack up $47,000 of penalties in a single case). Smashing up around 60 cars seems to do the trick.

Finally, you need to drive every vehicle in the city to unlock Auto Enthusiast (15 gamerpoints – drive 5 different vehicles), Auto Collector (15 gamerpoints – drive 40 different vehicles) and Auto Fanatic (30 gamerpoints – drive every vehicle). There are 95 in total and you only need to get in the car for it to register, as it will be flagged up in the corner of the screen if you haven’t driven it. Check in the Extras bit to see how many more cars you have to go.
