Beyond: Two Souls – Fastest Way To See All Endings

Beyond: Two Souls reviews split opinion and it continues to divide those playing it now into love it and hate it camps.

But those of you who have played it will likely have finished it by now, or at least nearing the finish line. You might start thinking about going for the Platinum, which includes unlocking the All Endings… trophy, unlocked for seeing all of Beyond’s 24 endings.

The good news is that it’s not as arduous as it might seem. The bad news is that it does involve some mind-numbing repetition. But still, if you want to get the Platinum, this is the fastest way to see all the endings.

THERE ARE SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ONWARDS.

The good news is despite the ’24 endings’ number being touted for Beyond: Two Souls, there are actually only eight endings that you have to view for the Trophy to unlock, as the other 16 are variants of characters being alive/dead at the end.

The fastest way to see all of the endings is to combine your playthrough with the Saved All Trophy (unlocked for saving all characters who can be saved) or A Better World (unlocked for letting every character die and choosing Beyond at the end).

Beyond Characters Who Can Be Saved/Need To Die:

Walter (Chapter: Homeless)

Saving Walter: After you tell Stan to leave the burning building, you’ll hear Walter shouting for help from behind the nearby door. Follow the prompt to knock down the door and then follow the prompts to save Walter.

Letting Walter Die: After you tell Stan to leave the burning building, you’ll hear Walter shouting for help from behind the nearby door. Try and go up the steps and the camera will pull you back towards the door with a prompt to yank the pad downwards. Instead, head up to the second floor again.

Jimmy (Chapter: Homeless)

Saving Jimmy: On the second floor of the burning building, there will be a door in front of you. Knock it down and you’ll see Jimmy trapped across a gap. Call Jimmy and he’ll shout that he’s too scared to jump. Switch to Aiden and possess Jimmy, then force him over the gap to save him.

Letting Jimmy Die: On the second floor of the burning building, there will be a door in front of you. Knock it down and you’ll see Jimmy trapped across a gap. Just wait here for Jodie to collapse.

Paul (Chapter: Navajo)

Saving Paul: After Paul is attacked, as soon as you regain control of Jodie, head into the back of the house and you’ll see Paul lying on the bed. Use Aiden to heal his injury, then talk to Shimasani.

Letting Paul Die: After Paul is attacked, as soon as you regain control of Jodie, talk to Shimasani and complete the ritual.

Norah (Chapter: Norah)

Saving Norah: After talking to Norah in the Infraworld, simply leave the room.

Letting Norah Die: After talking to Norah in the Infraworld, use Aiden to stop her heart. You’ll be prompting with a Leave/Stay choice if you try and leave the room before doing so.

Cole (Chapter: Black Sun)

Saving Cole: When Cole and Jodie make their way to the condenser wearing portable containment fields, they’ll be spotted by the entities and have to run for the door. You need to successfully complete this QTE and then return for Cole when he’s knocked down to save him.

Letting Cole Die: When Cole and Jodie make their way to the condenser wearing portable containment fields, they’ll be spotted by the entities and have to run for the door. Failing this QTE will see Cole killed. Alternatively, you can successfully complete this QTE but leave Cole to die when he’s been knocked down.

Ryan (Chapter: Black Sun)

Saving Ryan: When you encounter Dawkins near the Black Sun and have your final conversation with him, select Reason twice and Dawkins will kill himself. Alternatively, if Dawkins turns on Jodie following the conversation, use Aiden to kill Dawkins.

Letting Ryan Die: When you encounter Dawkins near the Black Sun and have your final conversation with him, select anything other than Reason to have Dawkins turn on Jodie. Then let Dawkins finish his speech and Ryan will rush in, and they’ll both be killed.

Beyond: Two Souls Endings – The Fastest Way To See Them All

The fastest way to view all the endings is to follow these steps. Bear in mind you have to wait for the credits to end for the ending to register and you have to replay Black Sun in its entirety, which can be a little tedious:

– Play through to the end of Beyond: Two Souls with all characters saved: Walter, Jimmy, Paul, Norah, Cole and Ryan. If any characters have died in your playthrough, go back to their respective chapter and save that character, then play through to the end. You can’t go back to their respective chapter, save that character and then use chapter select to skip to the end. You have to play through right to the end after saving that character.

– At the end of the game, with all the characters having been saved, choose Beyond (1st Ending).

– Wait for the credits to finish, then use chapter select to replay Black Sun. This time, choose Life and during the ending, select ‘Alone’ (2nd Ending).

– Wait for the credits to finish, then use chapter select to replay Black Sun. Choose Life and during the ending, select ‘Zoey’ (3rd Ending).

– Wait for the credits to finish, then use chapter select to replay Black Sun. Choose Life and during the ending, select ‘Jay’ (4th Ending).

– Wait for the credits to finish, then use chapter select to replay Black Sun. Choose Life and during the ending, select ‘Ryan’. It doesn’t matter if he has an eye-patch or not (5th Ending).

– Now you need all characters to die, so use chapter select to go back to Homeless, enable saving, and play through again. This time, let all characters die: Walter, Jimmy, Paul, Norah, Cole and Ryan.

– At the end of the game, with all characters having died, choose Beyond (6th Ending).

– Wait for the credits to finish, then use chapter select to replay Black Sun. This time, choose Life and during the ending, select ‘Alone’ (7th Ending). There will also be options for a ‘Zoey’ and ‘Jay’ ending but you don’t need to view these.

– Wait for the credits to finish, then use chapter select to replay Black Sun. In the condenser, after General McGrath appears, fail any of the following QTEs for Jodie to die in the Black Sun (8th Ending).

– The Trophy should unlock after the credits have finished!

Beyond: Two Souls Endings – Does It Matter If Ryan Has An Eye-Patch?

No. Any endings are counted as the same regardless of whether Ryan has the eye-patch or not from the interrogation scene. There are separate Trophies for talking during the interrogation scene or keeping quiet but either way, this section only has an aesthetic effect on the ending and doesn’t change the steps above at all.

Beyond: Two Souls Endings – Does It Matter If I’m Playing In Duo?

No. Duo registers endings in the same way that playing Solo does.

Beyond: Two Souls Endings – Does New Game Overwrite The Endings I Have Seen?

No. Beyond keeps track of every ending you’ve unlocked, regardless of whether you choose New Save or not (it also keeps track of the collectibles this way too).

Beyond: Two Souls Endings – Do Any Of My Other Decisions Matter In The Game At All?

No. The ending is only affected by which characters survived and what your final decision is.
