The co-op third-person action moves south in Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel and we’re going to give you the tips you’ll need to take down this pernicious criminal syndicate. Overkill Mode returns from the first game and cooperation is key — there’s no competitive multiplayer here, just the hectic destructible battlefields built in the Frostbite 2 Engine. Keep your head on straight, because we’ll help guide your team to victory.

Cause and Effect
Following the intro scene, you’ll have a quick tutorial that will make you test out your rifle and sidearm weapon, how to use cover, how to perform a team breach and how use the really cool “Overkill” ability.
After you exit the Training Room, there will be a short cutscene, followed by a menu for you to select your weapons and attire before you begin your first mission.
Following a cool intro scene, proceed forward into the compound. As you move down the trail, you’ll approach two enemies up ahead. Use the crates as cover on the left until you get parallel with them, then take them out.
Help you partner raise the stable door on the left. Turn left around the corner, take cover hind the stack of chopped-up wood and kill the group of enemies in this area. As you advance toward the Range Rovers, watch out for enemies that will come out of the buildings to the right.
Active Overkill mode when prompted to here as you move forward and unleash unlimited ammo! Get to the dead end and kill the rest of the enemies coming up the path to the left before regrouping with your team.
Following a short cutscene, lift the door straight ahead and quickly take cover behind the short wall to the left. Chuck a grenade to clear out a good portion of the enemies, then kill the rest before proceeding to the next area just down the road.
Head down the path for a short cutscene. You’ll then have to choose which path you want to take. (After helping my partner over the gate, I chose the upper path, up and to the right.)
Take cover behind the crate just before the bridge and kill the group of attacking enemies. Advance and take cover hind the row of boxes and kill the lone enemy up on the roof to the right. Continue forward down the path, using the cars as cover as you kill all attacking enemies (watch out for enemy grenades when you’re near cars).
Head down the path to meet up with your team behind heading inside the chapel for a cutscene.
Head down the path and break off to the left side with your partner. After the path winds around, hop the fence to right, head through the doorway and chuck a grenade at the two enemies. Clear the rest of the area before heading toward the gate. After you learn that you can’t get in that way, follow your partner down the path on the right.
After you turn to the right, kill the three enemies hiding behind the stacks of barrels. As you continue around, there will be enemies hidden behind each stack of barrels, so whip out the shotgun and just start firing to catch them by surprise. Once you get back on the path, use the cars as cover as you take out all enemies in this area.
When you reach the warehouse door, perform a breach. The game will go into slow-mo, so you’ll have plenty of time to kill the three enemies inside. Turn right at take out the two enemies hiding behind the barrels. Kill the third guy in the hallway and breach the door at the end.
Following the cutscene, kill the two enemies hiding behind the stacks of barrels down the hallway. Turn right through the open doorway, the kill the group of enemies to the left before advancing toward the door up on the right.
Take cover behind the stack of nearby barrels and destroy all of the enemies attacking you from up ahead. As you advance, kill the guys who will be hoping over the wall to the right as well as the guys who will be coming out from the tunnel on the left. Clear the area and then head through the tunnel.
Following a short cutscene, use different objects as cover as you advance up the right side of the area. Flank the enemies to the left from this side, then take cover behind one of the white barricades. After you kill the rest of the enemies behind the barricades across from you, the game will go to a cutscene. You’ll then get to decide between staying with Rios or going after the girl. I chose to go after the girl.
Head for open door over to the left of the building, kill any enemies you encounter along the way. Once you get inside, head up the stairs, where you’ll have to kill a guy after you make your way up each set. Once you get to the third level, kill the guy on the MMG, then use it to protect Rios go to town on the enemies down below. There will also be a truck for you to take out eventually.
When prompted to, exit the MMG, turn around and breach the door on the right. Turn left, head up the stairs and kill the two enemies. Head up another set of stairs, kill the two enemies here, then head up the final set of stairs to find the girl hiding at the top hiding behind the stack of cans. After the chopper arrives, stand near it and help the hostage get inside.
You’ll then get to use a sniper while in the chopper to take out enemy forces. There come from all over, so do a good job scanning the area. Since you’re holding the left wall for cover, it would make the most sense to focus more on enemies coming from the right first.

Rally Point
This mission will start off in chaos! Once you get to your feet unload on anything that moves as you move down the street. Turn back around, where you have to kill enemies that will be dropping down from the roof on the left.
Continue forward through the opening in the wreckage of cars. Use cars as cover as you take out all enemies while advancing down the street. Kill the few guards up the steps of the building to the left, then follow your team off of the ledge and through the gate.
Breach the next gate, then head up the stairs. Head to the edge of the roof over on the left, then drop down and get cover behind a nearby car. Clear the street, then follow Amp through the open gate on the right.
Following the cutscene, quickly cut around the corner and hug the right wall to avoid MMG fire. Move to the end of the wall and call your teammate over to perform a step jump so he can kill the MMG.
With the street clear, move forward. Turn left and use the cars as cover as you kill attacking enemies. Turn left at the next dead and it will be more of the same. There will also be some enemies behind the gate up on the building to the right.
Clear this street of all enemies, then once you reach the dead end with the police cars, follow your partner through the door on the right. Perform a breach on the gate in the back left corner and turn right down the alley, taking out enemies that peek around the corner from the left.
Follow the alley around and keep an eye out for enemies hidden around corners and behind fruit stands (shotgun works great here). Follow your partner through the gate once you reach it. Breach the door, then turn right into the wide open space.
Move past the cars and kill the large group of enemies that will come running through the opening between the fences. Turn left and advance down the street, killing all enemies along the way. Turn right at the dead end and repeat.
This street will be tricky, since your parter will go down wounded a few different times and you’ll have to heal him out in the open. Also, there will be longer stretches of street without any cars, so use the planters as cover. Get to the end, then head left and follow your parter through the wide entranceway.
Breach the gate and head left toward the street for another war zone. Kill the enemies diagonally to the right from you, then turn right onto the road and take cover behind the nearby red car.
Advance and make a left onto the next road. Move from pillar to pillar for cover as you take out the enemies in the courtyard across the street from you. With the area clear, cross the street and head up the steps for a cutscene.
After the explosion, the courtyard area will become a giant cluster. Enemies will appear on all sides of you, so keep moving from cover position to cover position and stay close to your partner. When you finally see the orange icon on your screen, head toward it to complete the mission.

Outside Contact
Immediately after the intro scene, you’ll not only encounter heavy enemy fire, but they’ll chuck a couple of grenades at you. When they do, quickly run to the back of the room.
These guys will be well cover, so hop through the window an advance to closer cover. Take them out, as well as the reinforcements that drive up and group that comes from the motorhomes across the street.
Head down the street and take out the next wave around the gas station before returning to your vehicle for a cutscene.
Head through the fire-doused building buildings before turning left through the open gate. Follow the path around and perform two different step jumps at the walls. After the second, quickly grab cover behind one of the barricades and kill the enemies coming down the road from the left.
Head for the radar station. Move along the left side, back behind the portable. There will be a ton of guys as you move up the hill toward the satellites, so hold you cover and wait till it’s mostly clear.
Once you clear out most of the guys in front of the building, look right and take out the MMG in between the satellites. Get some cover and finish off the next wave of enemies that will come running through the doorway of the building. When the area’s clear, head inside the radar station.
Head around to the left and perform a partner breach on the door. The game will go slow-mo here, so you an easily take out the five enemies on the other side. You’ll then have the option to eliminate the sniper (“protect contacts”) or not. If you chose this (like I did), your partner will boost you up over the wall.
Go up the first flight of stairs, then kill the sniper through the door on the left. Pick up the sniper (if you don’t already have one) and use it to shoot the crane to drop the nose of the plane on the truck.
Next, go to the other window on the left and take out the four highlighted targets. You’ll then have to take out three more highlighted targets, but they’ll have snipers and know where you are, so you’ll have to barely peek around the wall, fire a shot and then quickly pull back to avoid getting hit.
After your partner informs Fiona that her friends are dead, another wave of enemies will show up. However, don’t worry about them, because a dude will come out of nowhere from up the stairs with a machete. Take him out and head down the stairs.
Head down the path toward the orange icon to regroup with your partner. Clear the junkyard area, then regroup again with your partner for a cutscene.
You’ll then have to secure the area. Make sure you take out the RPG up on the wing first, then find some cover and kill the rest of the enemies. Advance and head through the opening in the gate into the sewer tunnel. Drop off the ledge, turn right and head out to the aqueduct.
Perform a step jump with your partner on the left wall and breach the door. Breach the next door and wipe out the two enemies from the right corner before quickly taking cover behind the planter. Kill the enemies down the street and then advance.
Turn right, cross the street, take cover behind a planter and kill attacking enemies as you advance. After you cross under the bridge, there will be an MMG up ahead. Advance by going to back and forth across the street to various cover positions. Eventually, you should end up under an archway on the right side close enough to the MMG to chuck a grenade behind him and take him out.
Kill the rest of the enemies up on the ledge and under the archways before advancing and heading up the stairs. Heap your partner (who should be on the MMG) wipe out the wave of enemies that will be running down the street.
With the area clear, head down the stairs and back down the street. Make left into the alley and take out the RPG on the roof. Head back up the street and turn left to the dead end. Your partner should go back up to the MMG and shoot a hole through the sealed-up doorway under the “Carniceria” sign.
Head through, wait for your partner and breach the door. Turn left down the street for a cutscene. Whoa! Cool face tattoo. Switch to shotgun and unload on this big dude using blind fire. He’ll have some heavy armor on, so it will take quite a few rounds to take him down.
As you begin to move up the street, you’ll have a few grenades chucked at you, so quickly run back and take cover behind the planter on the left. Advance and clear the area. Watch out, though, for the sniper up on the roof straight ahead as well as other enemies that will drop off from the roof on the right.
Turn right rough the archway and the end of the street, then breach the door on the left. Take the stairs up to the plaza and breach the door. Kill the two enemies down the path, then proceed forward.
Chuck a grenade down into the courtyard area to wipe a couple guys out and also to ignite a cool fireworks display! Make your way around to the stairs on the other side. Kill the rest of the enemies down below, but watch out for the door behind you because two guys will come out looking to cut you up.
Cross the street and head up the stairs on the other side. Kill the three enemies down the path, then get your ammo ready, because there will be a ton of reinforcements down below. Find some good cover (don’t just crouch behind the railing because it will get blown away) and clear the area.
Head back down the stairs, cross the street and head down the alley. Take out the RPG that will appear on the roof straight ahead of you, then help kill the guy who attempts to melee your partner. Run to the end, then breach the door on the right for a cutscene.
You’ll then have the option of shooting or diving the car (shooting is always more fun, so I chose that). Since you have unlimited ammo with the MMG, it’s open season on anything moves for this next sequence (though the MMG will overheat, so don’t hold down on the trigger continuously).
You will eventually be prompted to take out other MMG guns on trucks and RPGs on roofs. These will be highlighted with red icons and should be fairly easy to take out. From there, it will just be a short stretch of road before you crash inside the compound and complete the mission.

Last Resort
Move up next to Fiona, than make your way around to the front of the water fountain. Take out the RPG up on the scaffolding to the left, then hop over the water fountain wall and take cover behind the police car straight ahead.
Take out the group of enemies coming down the stairs as well as the guys hiding behind the pillars on either side of the stairs. Advance into the hotel and kill any remaining enemies.
Wait for Fiona and your partner, then breach the double doors and wipe out all enemies in the lobby. Eventually, a couple of snipers will show up on the balcony behind you (above the entrance), so when you see the red lasers, take cover and then look for them hiding behind the pillars.
With the area clear, head for the double doors on the other side of the room. Right as you are about to approach them, an enemy will come busting through. Take him out, hug the wall for cover and clear the hallway.
Kill the handful of enemies that come pouring out of the elevator to the left, then follow Fiona inside for a cutscene. After you meet “El Diablo,” quickly kill all enemies coming through the large entranceway.
Advance, turn right through the open doorway and kill the two enemies behind cover here. Go left through the next doorway, kill the three enemies in this room, then follow the path around to the double doors and head up the stairs.
Breach the doors and kill the guy with the machete that comes flying around the corner at you. Go right through the doorway he just came from and follow the path around to flank the group of enemies at the other end of the main hallway.
Turn right into the next main room and clear it of all enemies. After you interrogate one of “El Diablo’s” men and survive the explosion, kill the guy with the machete that will come running toward you, then head to the end of the hallway for another cutscene.
There will then be a really coo sequence where you’ll be sliding down the hallway of one of the hotel floors. You don’t have to worry about steering yourself away from falling debris—just shoot any cartel members you happen to pass by.

Salvation
Head for the gold icon, which will lead you to a set of double doors around the side of the church. Breach the doors, then head up the makeshift ramp to the left. Wipe out the unsuspecting group of cartel members, then drop down and take cover behind a tombstone.
Clear out this section of the cemetery, then follow Fiona toward the double doors of the next section. Before you open them, some enemies will come busting through—take them out.
Head up the steps and through the door, then quickly grab cover behind the large tombstone to the right. Take out the two snipers on top of the structure in front of you, then head for it and call your partner to perform a step jump to get on top of it.
Once you clear the area, hop down and follow Fiona to the set of double doors. Kill the two enemies that come bursting through, then head to the next area. Grab cover on the wall to the left, then peek around to the left and chuck a grenade through the doorway where some enemies will be firing at you.
Head through the doorway, down the stairs and into the mausoleum. Breach the door, then turn right down the hallway. Go left through the hole in the wall to lead you back out into the cemetery.
Take out the unsuspecting group of cartel thugs, then clear the area. Several jeeps will then role up with more enemies for you to take out. Following that, proceed forward to the other end of the cemetery.
Kill the enemies that will try to flank you from the right, as well as over the wall to the left. These guys will have heavy armor on, so make sure you have so cover when firing upon them. With the area clear, head through the doorway on the right and into the next area.
Breach the door, then follow Fiona around to the “ruins” section of the cemetery. Nearly all of these guys will have armor on, so the best way to kill them is to advance from cover position to cover position and get close enough where you can melee them; however, these could leave you vulnerable, so perform your melees quickly.
Once this large area is finally clear, head to the gates at the end of the area to lead you to the catacombs. Following the cutscene, switch to the pistol Fiona gave you (which has a flashlight attachment) so you can see where you’re going through the sewers.
Eventually, you spot two enemies walking ahead of you. Aim for the head and take them down. Turn left at the dead end. Hug the left wall for cover and switch to your rifle or shotgun to take out the four enemies in the next room.
Turn the corner and make the left down the tunnel, switching back to the pistol to help see. Like before, two unsuspecting guards to take out up ahead, follow by another room with some light and a larger group of enemies.
From that room, go right, then make a left (you should pass another glow stick—these let you know if your going the right way). Melee the machete guy who attacks you, then continue forward. Go right at the dead end and breach the door at the end of the hallway.
This next section of the catacombs, guys will drop of the ceiling and surprise you. Kill them as well as the other enemies you encounter before reaching the door at the end of the tunnel.
Breach the door and perform a step jump with your partner at the wall. Take cover, then take out the two unsuspecting guards. Advance to one of the crates for cover, then begin to clear out the basement.
Advance to the door with the area clear, breach it and take out all enemies on the other side. Move forward and head through the doorway in the corner of the room. Turn left and wipe out all enemies down the hallway.
Head through the doorway at the end, then wait for your partner and breach the next door. Only about five enemies to take out here before breaching the door on the left. This area will be the toughest. There will be a ton of guys with armor and even a few with riot shields, so be careful when you advance and use grenades on large groups.
Head through the open door on the left, then turn right down the hallway and breach the door at the end to enter the church. Head down the tunnel, up the three flights of stairs and breach the door.
Following the cutscene, head straight down the hallway a ways before grabbing cover behind a pillar. A ton of enemies will come pouring out of the door, so chuck a grenade to take a good portion of them out.
Turn right for another cutscene. Kill the two enemies that come running around the corner. Make the turn, grab cover behind a pillar and eliminate all enemies down the hallway. When you partner, who picked up the riot shield, begins to advance down the hallway, get close to him (you should see a blue shield icon on the screen) to attach yourself to him and use blind fire to kill all enemies.
Get across the bridge at the end of the hallway. Breach the door and kill the two unsuspecting enemies inside. Use the MMG on the right and begin blowing away the balcony railing all around the outside of the church.
After you clear the balcony, you’ll get blown off your position for a short cutscene. Huge fire fight here. Take cover behind the pew and kill the grip of enemies that will be unleashed on you (hit the gasoline cans to create explosions and take out multiple enemies).
Once the church is clear and you hear from Fiona, head around to the left and through the open doorway. Follow the pathway around and breach the double doors on the left for a cutscene.
Aim for the drivers’ heads or shoot the tires of the vehicles in this opening chase scene. Following a short cutscene, you’ll then be allowed to use mines to easily take out cartel vehicles. Don’t waste them all at once, though, because you’ll only get six, and you want at least one for the last part of this scene (when the “Destroyer” shows up).
Unload crazy amounts of ammo on the Destroyer and shot to ignite any large tanks you pass to inflict damage upon it. Use any remaining mines you may have to take out cartel vehicles that show up.
You’ll have to fight off the Destroyer for a while, and even if you do get Overkill, you won’t be able to officially destroy it until it tries to ram you. When this happens, you’ll jump onto the front of it in a short cutscene. When prompted to, mash the button to plant the C4 charge in the hood to destroy it and complete the mission.

Enemy Territory
Fnd a piece of train car for cover and kill all attacking cartel members. Head back around to where Fiona is trapped with the area clear and help your partner free her.
Kill all reinforcements (watch out for the RPGs on top of train cars) before advancing. Follow Fiona through the gate and down the path. When you reach the village, take out the small group of enemies before advancing around to the left for another cutscene.
Perform a step jump at the brick wall with your partner. Head up the two sets of stairs, then kill all enemies down the street to the left. Follow your partner up the stairs to the right. After you get confirmation from the other team that they’ve secured Cordova, breach the door and kill the two enemies that will be waiting for you on the other side.
Walk to the ledge and use the sniper rifle. Zoom in as far as you can go, then help your other team out by taking out the red-highlighted targets. After the first four enemies, there will be two more waves. You’ll then have to sniper the driver of the truck coming down the road right at you.
Following the cutscene, head down the steps. Turn left at the gate into the alley. Follow the path around. Take out the enemies coming down the steps on the right. Turn right down the bank and eliminate all enemies around the small village.
Get down to the road and kill all enemies here before advancing. Turn right down the alley and follow the path around to the next area. Grab some cover and chuck a grenade to take out the four unsuspecting cartel members.
Continue forward and grab cover behind one of the stacks of cinderblocks on the right. There will be heavy MMG five on you, so get up the stairs to the left, take out the guy up here, walk around to the corner and kill the MMG on the back of the truck and any other guys you can spot from there.
Drop down and advance. Another group of enemies will be waiting for you at the turn on the right as well as a couple guys up on the second level to the level. Look for cover and take them out.
Continue straight forward, head down the steps and turn right through the doorway. Follow the path around to the next area. Move through the alley. Once you arrive at the next area, you’ll have to search the four highlighted stalls. The first two will be empty, but there will be an enemy in the third, so quickly melee him after you open the door.
Go left up the steps. There will be a handful of enemies in this area, so take them out, then breach the stall on the right to finally find Cordova. Following the cutscene, follow Cordova. Breach the gate he leads you to, then head straight through the open bay door.
Turn right through the two doorways, then go left up the stairs. Follow the path around for a cutscene. Following that, advance straight ahead to the next cover position while your partner provides covering fire.
From there, don’t worry about the sniper—just take out as many enemies as you can. Move up the makeshift ramp, take cover and take out the rest of the enemies. When your partner and Cordova pass you, follow them up the stairs.
Take the ramps up to the overwatch and kill the sniper. Turn around and head for the door on the other side. Wait for your partner and Cordova, then breach the door.
Turn right through the two doorways, drop off the ledges and then follow the alley around. Turn right, take nearby cover and clear this area. Move up with your partner, take cover once again and clear the next area to the right.
Keep and ear out for your partner. When he calls you, head over to the left to perform a step jump. From up hear, eliminate enemies on the roof across from you and flank guys down below.
Drop off the ledge at the end, turn left, move up to cover and eliminate all of the targets in this area. Follow the path around, kill the enemies that show up in the jeeps (as well as a few more on the rooms), then breach the door on the right.
Follow the path around to the next area. Take cover behind the sandbags near the white truck and kill all of the cartel members up the street to the right. As you advance up the street, make sure you stake out the RPG up on the roof to the right in the distance.
Turn left through the opening in the building and head up the stairs. Hug the wall, peek around the left and chuck a grenade up the ramp where two heavily armored enemies will be waiting. Kill the few enemies on the roof diagonally across from you, then push over the shedding wall to create a bridge to cross.
Cross the bridge, turn left and kill the enemy that blows up the wall. Head up two sets of stairs to take you to the next area. Hop over the wall, take cover at the next wall and shoot one of the red propane tanks to kill a couple unsuspecting enemies.
Advance from cover position to cover position to get to the far right corner of the roof. Wait for your partner and perform a step jump. Turn around the corner, kill the two enemies coming down the stairs and head on up. Kill the couple of enemies you encounter as you head up the ramps before taking out the sniper melee style in the overwatch.
Once the area is clear, wait for you partner to meet up with you. Then turn around, head through the hole in the wall, turn right through the doorway and follow the pathway around. Take cover at the bottom of the stairs and take out the attacking cartel members.
Follow the path around to the right, picking off enemies as they come running around corners. When you come to the short ramp, go up it and quickly take cover in front of you. Take out the enemies on the roof as well as the sniper on the far roof to the right.
Advance. Turn left at the dead end and kill the cartel thug. There’s a riot shield on the wall to the right after you turn right that could come in handy. If you decide not to take, take cover behind the white car on the left. Clear the street, advance and head up the stairs on the right.
Take cover behind the sand bags and kill all enemies in this area. Advance and kill the enemies that blow through the wall on the left at the dead end. Follow the path around and kill yet another group of enemies up the next street.
Head through the garage at the end of the street and breach the door. Follow the flights of stairs up to the next area where you’ll have to give Bradley support to help protect Cordova.
With the area clear, go left, push down the shedding, cross the makeshift bridge and follow the path around to get to ground level. Head up the street and kill the three unsuspecting guards. Meet up with Bradley and Cordova

Narco Hell
After you attempt to breach the locked door in the back right corner of the room, help your partner move the large vent to get through the gap in the wall. Wait for the cartel members to pass by, then advance and turn left through the open doorway.
Hop over the two barricades, then attempt to breach the door. It will be locked, so help your partner lift the nearby gate. Go left and turn right through the doorway. Turn left down the hallway and quickly take cover behind the bin so that the cartel members passing by don’t see you.
Advance and turn right at the dead end. Take out the two enemies at the next turn with head shots. Take out the rest of the enemies down the hallway and make sure you pick up their ammo. More enemies at the next turn, and then there will be another group to take out in the next area.
Continue to follow the path that will eventually lead you to a door on the left. When you breach it, the game will go into the slow-mo, so use that to your advantage to take out as many cartel members as possible here. Grab cover behind the wall, move around to the right and flank the enemies on the other side.
Head through the open doorway and follow the path around to the left. Take cover and clear out the next hallway. Enter the doorway on the right and clear the room. Head through the doorway on the right in this room.
Follow the pathway around and breach the door. Clear this room, head through the doorway on the opposite side and head up several flights of stairs. Breach the double doors for a cutscene.
After you recover your masks, breach the next set of double doors, take cover and clear yet another room. These guys, however, will have high-powered rifles, so as soon as you take a couple of them down, pick up their weapons.
Get to the other end of the room and then head up several more flights of stairs. Another door to breach, another room to clear. There will be enemies up on the catwalk in this room, though, so keep an eye out for them.
Get up the stairs at the other end of the room and finishing killing all of the cartel thugs on the second level. Locate the open doorway and head up yet again another set of stairs.
Following the cutscene, follow your partner down the stairs. Head down the pathway and perform a step jump on the brick wall to your left. Take cover behind one of the pillars and surprise the cartel members down below.
Drop down and clear the rest of the area before proceeding forward. Head up the stairs and breach the door at the top. Follow the path around and take out the unsuspecting group of cartel members around the turn.
Follow your partner down the path and perform another step jump at the dead end. Whoa! After your partner falls to the level below you, move to the left over the railing and protect him from getting ambushed by cartel members. Move along the railing to the left to get a better view and watch out for enemy fire that will come from across the way.
When the area is clear, your parter will shoot down the wall. Cross it and breach the door on the right. Head up the stairs and clear the next area. Get to the other end of the room and head up the stairs.
Make your way around the path and then take out the heavily armored dude that comes bursting through the doors. Kill the other two cartel members, then head up the next sets of stairs. Breach the door at the top and enjoy the slow-mo view as you take out cartel enemies on the roof outside.
You’ll then have the option to stay on foot or get in the chopper (I chose to stay on the ground). Get near the chopper and perform a step jump to get your parter inside. Next, turn around go right and head down the stairs. Make your way around the catwalk and kill the attacking enemies coming down the stairs.
Turn right through the chain-link fence gate and take cover behind the ventilation shaft. Get across the roof, head up the stairs, turn left and take out the RPG at the other end of the second level so the chopper can fly over.
Turn back around and head through the open gate at the other end. Turn left and get across the makeshift bridge the chopper created for you. Kill the lone enemy and turn right through the wreckage to save your partner. You’ll then have to use you pistol to kill the pilot of the enemy chopper that shows up.
Head up the steps with your partner and breach the doors on the right. Head down the stairs to the next area. Aw, the pot shop! Fight through cartel forces as you advance through the area to catch Salem. (Lots of holes in the walls here, which is perfect for flanking.)
Once you get the stairs and then the lower level, follow the path around (no enemies here) to a large vent in the wall and help your partner push it to get through. Turn right and clear out this section of all enemies.
After you get to the door, you’ll have to worry about those crazies that try to stab you with machetes coming down the hallway that’s on fire. Get through and then there will be yet another weed room full of enemies for you to clear.
Get to the other end of the room. After the explosion in the wall on the right, head through and drop down into the room. Breach the door, turn right and then take out the enemies around the corner to the left.
Once you reach the dead end, fire a few rounds at the blue barrels to create a hole in the ground. Drop down and turn right through the doorway. Follow the path around and kill the lone guard running toward you but follow your partner’s advice and don’t shoot any of the blue barrels here or you’ll be toast.
Wipe out the machete wielders along the way as you advance. Push the vent out of the way when you reach the next dead end. Follow the path around, kill the two enemies (again, no stray bullets!) and breach the door in the back corner.
Breach the door at the end of the hallway and head down the stairs. Following the short cutscene, you’ll have to kill the crazy “superhuman” Mexican. Quickly grab cover and shoot the gasoline tanks near him to inflict some damage on him.
After firing a few rounds on you, he’ll sprint at either you or your partner like a spider monkey. Pull out the shotgun and fight him off as best possible, but you’ll probably end up having to provide health for your partner or vice versa.
Don’t waste any more time. Flank him from one of the sides of his cover with your shotgun and unload on him. He’ll eventually run away to another point of cover. Look for more gasoline cans to ignite, then flank him again to finish him off and complete the mission.

Assault
Take out cartel members as you advance from cover position to cover position to get to Hacienda. When you’re just outside of the two towers with the gunners, wait until you have an Overkill stored up, then use as you advance and unload on them.
Take the cover that’s almost right underneath them. Clear this area of enemies, store up another Overkill and then use it to take down the towers. Head for the large double doors straight ahead for a cutscene.
Head up the stairs and through the doorway. Kill the machete wielder that comes running out of the door. Run to the end, turn right and take out the enemies down below. Get to the center of the area (near the water fountain) and revive your partner.
Find cover behind some sandbags and clear out the area. Following your discussion with your partner, cross the area and breach the door. Follow the path around and breach the door in the next room.
Wipe out the group of cartel members outside. Quickly move up to the stack of boxes for cover and clear out the area. When it’s clear, fire at the chopper that shows up. After it flies away, there will be another wave of enemies to take out. Following that, the chopper will return. Pelt it with several more rounds to finally take it down.
Turn right through the gate and head up the steps and through the doorway. Follow the hallway around to another door and breach it. Turn left around the corner and head back outside.
Take cover right outside the doorway and take out the enemies up ahead. Turn right around the cover and head through the doorway. Kill the enemies in the next room as you advance.
Once back outside, kill the enemies up on the roof to the left. Turn right and kill the enemies near the railroad tracks as you cross over them. Clear the enemies down the tracks.
When you reach the door, head inside and turn right up the steps. Breach the next door to head outside. Turn right and help your partner push the truck to use it as cover as you advance down the road.
Stop pushing periodically to take out enemies on whatever side you are on. When you reach the dead end, head up the stairs to the right to take out the rest of the enemies here from up top.
Head back down and advance past the smoldering wreckage of cars. Fight your way to the train tracks and when you reach them, chase after the guy in the red tank top heading for the tunnel on the right.
Following the cutscene, head through the tunnel to get to the other side. Flank the enemies here on the right side of the large rock. Then, head back around to the left and kill the group coming over the bridge. Head through the tunnel and take the group out on the other side.
Follow the path around and breach the door at the end. Breach the door at the other end of the tunnel and take cover behind the mineshaft car outside. Kill the lone cartel member to the right, then take cover behind the mineshaft car right before the bridge.
Kill the enemies down to the left as well as the few that come across the bridge. Make your way to the other side and take out any remaining enemies before heading up the stairs. Go right and take out the final enemy. Turn right and start the generator when prompted to.
Look down to the right and quickly chuck a couple of grenades at the huge group of enemies that comes pouring out of the mineshaft. Take out the rest of the enemies from up here before dropping down and heading into the mineshaft.
Follow the tracks around, which will lead you to a door on the right. Breach it. There will only be a few snipers on the upper rim of this area to star off, but then a bunch of enemies will come pouring out of the mineshaft exits.
Find cover near the mineshaft exits and when you see enemies begin jumping out of them, chuck some grenades for some easy kills. After you clear the area of all enemies, you’ll have to option to take the chopper or stay on foot (I chose the former).
Perform a step jump with your partner to get inside the chopper. Now behind the M32, take out anything that moves as you fly over the ridge up ahead. Once the chopper gets to the highest ridge and holds its position, look for the smoke trails and take out the RPGs way off in the distance.
You’ll then have to clear a wave that comes down the slope from the right, one from across the bridge and a handful of other enemies as the chopper flies to its last stop.

Confrontation
Use the M32 to take out the trucks driving along the freeway. After a really short cutscene where your partner flips you the grenade launcher, use it to destroy one of the highlighted targets on the cliff face to create an avalanche. Look for another target in the face of the cliff up ahead, then take out the RPG at the entrance of the tunnel.
Following that, there will be five more targets for you to hit on the face of the cliff to completely wipe out the convoy. The chopper will then lower and you’ll have to kill the drivers in the two jeeps.
After a failed attempt to rescue Fiona, take out the three towers you fly by, followed by two Destroyers and two choppers than need to be taken down. Following the cutscene, follow the path around to get to the crash site.
Take cover behind the container around the first turn and clear this area. As you advance, take out the RPG up on the wall to the left and watch out for the “Brute” on the ground (the heavily armored guy with the big machine gun).
Head for the burning wall with your partner to perform a step jump with the area clear. (If your having trouble fining the last enemies to clear the area, chances are they are up in the tower windows on either side of the wall.)
Sprint to the next area. Take cover behind a stack of rocks. Take out the sniper in the window of the tower and the two enemies on top of the wall to the right. Kill all of the foot soldiers in this area before turning back around and entering the door at the base of the tower.
As you approach the tower, take cover behind the barricade and wipe out the three enemies that come running out of it. Head inside and breach the door on the other side. Kill the group of enemies in slow-mo, then take out the enemies that pull up in the jeep.
Advance to cover. Take out the two snipers on the roof diagonally across form you. Move through the containers and kill all attacking enemies. When you get to the road, turn right, find cover and take out the two Brutes. Advance up the road to reach the crash site.
Following the short cutscene, wait for you parter to advance across the bridge with the riot shield, then move behind him and lock onto for cover. Take out enemies on either side of you and use blind fire to help take out the MMG on the truck.
After you pass and take out the enemies in the security shacks, stay attached to your partner as you move up the path toward the water fountain, killing the next wave of attacking enemies. Once you reach the gate, kill the two guards hidden behind the pallets on the right as you advance up the next path to finally find Fiona.
Following the cutscene, head down the hallway and breach the door. Take out the group of guards in front of you in slow-mo, then grab cover behind a pillar and eliminate the enemies up on the second level around the railing.
Clear the rest of the first floor, then cross the room and head up the stairs. Before you make the last turn, however, you’ll be met by a ton of attacking enemies (including on with a riot shield). Have your shotgun ready and be prepared to retreat to lure them down the stairs and pick them off while hugging the wall.
Once you get up stairs, make your way around and finish off any remaining enemies. Following the cutscene, take cover and eliminate the wave of enemies entering the lobby area.
Move across the lobby and breach the double doors. Turn right down the hallway and kill all attacking enemies as you advance. When you get to the stairs, wait for the guy with the shield and the few other enemies to come down and kill them from a distance so you don’t get cornered.
Breach the double doors at the top of the stairs. After the intense cutscene, clear the upper area of all enemies. Head down the stairs and do the same on the bottom floor before heading toward Rios.
Following another cutscene, unload on the group of enemies that will come pouring through the double doors across the room. Advance through the doors, down the hallway and then up the stairs.
Breach the doors. There will be several Brutes (who will also throw quite a few grenades) around the balcony, so take cover behind the corner of the railing and kill them from a safe distance.
After you make the turn around the balcony, turn left down the stairs to help your partner clear the bottom of the courtyard. Head up the stairs on the other side and kill the next wave of enemies on this side of the balcony.
With the area clear, breach the double doors on the balcony. Head down the stairs and breach the door at the bottom for another cutscene. You’ll then have to clear this courtyard of all Elite soldiers.
Once the Elites come down to the first level, there will then be a group of Brutes for you to wipe out. Make sure you use pillars for cover and don’t hesitate to use Overkill on them if you’ve got one stored up.
After the area is cleared, you’ll get another short cutscene. Salem will then show up in a Destroyer and it will be up to you to, well…destroy it (the torch gun works great). Make sure you keep moving because it will try to ram you even if you have hidden behind a pillar.
Once the Destroyer has been disabled, get to the back of it, plant the C4 charge and take cover behind a pillar to complete the mission and enjoy the final cutscene of the game.
