Journey is a different sort of game, and that’s why we’re doing a different sort of walkthrough. Instead of giving you a straight-forward guide on completing this odd indie adventure, we’re going to take you on a trip through the world and show you all the possibilities. Secrets are scattered around that can require some serious explorations. If you can’t find these hidden sights, don’t worry, Game Front is here to help you solve the mysteries of Journey.

The Journey Begins
As the mysterious red cloaked protagonist, you begin your journey in the middle of the desert with the bright white sun beating down you. At the start you will be kneeling. Move the left stick to continue forward. The Six-Axis can be used to turn the camera, but it’s preferable to use the right stick for comfortability. Continue forward to the sandy hill where pillars with flags draped on them are waiting for your arrival.
When you reach the top, you’ll see the summit of the enormous mountain you will be heading toward. The title of the game will also appear. Slide down the dune, then walk across the graveyard of pillars. Walk to the platform up ahead adorned with floating pieces of fabric and a strange looking obelisk.
As you approach, you will gather the fabric, thus giving you a scarf which gives you the power to jump great distances the longer the scarf becomes. How do you get the scarf longer? You must find glyphs scattered about the levels. Now head toward the summit. You will pass by broken stone structures protruding from the wind swept sand, that provide more patches of fabric to power up your jump.
WALL: As you move forward, look to your right and in the distance, you will see a silhouette of a building that looks like giant pillars holding it up. When you get there, it’s actually just a building with a broken wall. Enter it, then press “circle” to light up the stones and a glowing light will etch characters on a wall.
Keep making your way to the daunting summit ahead. You’ll see a partially constructed bridge. The path will lead you down a small valley, where many broken structures rest. To continue, the beam of light coming from the obelisk is where you’ll need to go.
GLYPHS: In this valley are two glyphs. They are glowing, so they shouldn’t be too hard to miss. One is floating above a broken stone structure, near the centerpiece, and the second is floating just below the centerpiece or small tower
To continue, head to the top of the small tower in the middle of the valley. Hold “circle” to gather up the fabric. You will shoot into the air. When this happens, glide over to the beam of light emanating from the obelisk. From here, hold “circle” to light up each pillar. You will absorb their essence. The door will then open for you head into the next level.

Sandfalls
As you emerge from the arch way, you’ll need to cross the bridge directly in front of you to reach the beaming obelisk. To do this, you must float down to the sand and find the stones protruding from the sand that vent air. They are easy to find since the red cloth is fluttering up from them. Hold “circle” to activate it. It will build a beautiful carpeted bridge that connects the broken bridge.
When the bridges are all connected, simply start from the beginning of the bridge, the lowest side, and you will torpedo all the way to the obelisk to reach the next level.
GLYPH 1: To get the first glyph, fly down from the entrance of the level to your left. You will see a rock formation with three rocks next to each other. One of the glyphs is the middle of these rocks.
GLYPH 2: There’s a wall behind the highest point on the broken bridge. On the left side of the bridge, will be a glyph that’s hidden behind a narrow sandfall.
GLYPH 3: On the right side of the bridge, also on the wall, you’ll see another sandfall, only it’s much wider. Above it, is a glyph. Use the stone vent to reach up and grab it.

The Dunes
Walk over the dunes. In the distance you will see a stone vent. Head to it, then activate it with “circle”. A carpet creature will be released. From that stone structure, turn right at about a 90 degree angle with the summit on your left side. You will see pillars sticking up from the ground, some of them broken. Use the stone vent to grab the GLYPH 1 stationed above one of the pillars.
From here, continue your path toward the summit. As you make your way across the dunes, climbing over about three dunes, a structure will be visible on your left side. It will be WALL 1 .
Behind that wall will be a tall sand dune, climb it up. Eventually if you keep heading in this diagonal direction, you’ll find another stone vent for which to release four carpet creatures.
Head back toward the summit as you pass by the wall again. You will pass by a tower that’s broken down to it’s first floor. In the distance you shall see a streaking light coming from the summit.
GLYPH 2: Keep moving forward. Climb the highest sand crest ahead toward the summit. When you reach the top of that crest, follow it to the left. You will see some ruined buildings. This little area contains a small tower. Use the pieces of fabric to catapult your way up the tower for the second glyph of the level.
Now, move forward from the tower with the summit to your left side. Make your way across the dunes to the previous wall. From here leave the open door next to the wall. Keep heading in that direction to find WALL 2 . On you way to this next wall, the carpet creatures will be nearby. Use the vent nearby to release another carpet creature.
Now head toward the summit. Eventually you will find huge structures in the distance that contains a tower and some bridges. Make your way up the tower using the carpet creatures to head to the next level.

Ruined City
You begin the level “sand surfing” accompanied by the carpet creatures. As you slide with the wind at your back, you’ll pass by broken bridges and sturdy archways.
GLYPH 1: As you pass the towering tower in the middle. Head for the center. You’ll be on a bridge with a glyph at the end of it’s launching off point.
Make your way through the tunnel, via the rock wall. You will break through a sandfall. From here as you burst your way out, you can see a glyph right underneath the sandfall, perched on a ledge.
GLYPH 2: Once you’re in control, float your way to the perch to grab the glyph.
WALL: From the perch, float all the way across the level, past the vent in the middle and opposite of the perch. You’ll head up some rocks and sand, activating a wall.
Look for the archway with the light coming from it. The sun rays will be hitting the ground, where a slew of fabric patches will be swimming in the air. Activate them, then fly through the archway up above.
GLYPH 3: When you land down below you will be “sand surfing” once more. As you slide your way through, toward the center, look for the rock ramp that will lead you to a narrow rocky pathway with an arched bridge above it slightly on the right side. When you make it, follow the narrow path. At the end will be a glyph.
WALL 2: Eventually you will land underground with the obelisk in front of you. Before you head there, however, head left of the obelisk to activate a wall.
After you’ve activated the wall, head to the obelisk to gain access to the next level.

The Underground
Head toward the bright light coming from up above. You’ll pass sandfalls, archways and rays of light glimmering down on the sand. You will also come across structures, some tunnel-like, from which you can enter.
GLYPH 1: As you keep moving forward, look for one of the tunnel-like structures resting on top of another, creating a sort of ramp. Head inside from it’s highest point, leading down into the sand to grab a glyph.
Keep moving forward to the next bright light from above. When you reach the edge of the sand cliff, you’ll see a winding structure up ahead with flowing carpets that look like how seaweed acts underwater.
Jump toward the left side of the structure where the light is glimmering down on the raised tunnels. When you reach the end, make a right.
GLYPH 2: Follow that path. You will pass by two groups of flowing carpets. When you reach the second one, underneath, inside one of the tunnels, will be a glyph.
Head back out, then jump toward the narrow archway, where a beautiful sea of carpets will be flowing. You will also come across carpet jellyfish.
GLPYH 3: Right before you head to the next archway, as you float across the room, there will be a group of jellyfish. Make your way up from each jellyfish. There is one up above that won’t be able to see normally. The highest jellyfish in the room will have a glyph above it.
After you’ve grabbed it, exit the room via the next narrow archway. Drop down to the sand below and you’ll get an uncomfortable feeling. You will witness huge stone creatures that seem to eat the patches of fabric for breakfast.
WALL: As you make your way into the room full of pillars, make a left after the corridor, to activate a wall.
Now head forward past the ominous pillars and snake-like statues. Watch out for the spotlight the hulking stone creatures use. Stay on the left side.
GLYPH 4: If keep on the left side path away from the spotlight, you will reach another glyph behind a wall with an arched window design.
Continue moving ahead through the darkness to the tall archway. You will begin to slide down and the stone creatures will spot you, turning the color of their spotlight from calming turquoise to frightening red. It should be okay as long as you keep sliding down at break-neck speed.
A pillar of light will emerge when you reach the temple ahead, blocking off the stone creatures.
Now activate the obelisk to reach the next level.

Vertical Temple
As you enter the level, you’ll notice a tower in the middle, platforms hanging out from the side, and sunlight up above. Head toward the shrine with the three lights, past the tower. Activate it. A sea of misty sand will rise up from the ground, elevating you to the next level. Jump on the closest platform above to your left.
GLYPH 1: From this platform, look toward the tower. You’ll see a glyph on a small ledge attached to the tower.
From this ledge, jump to the next highest platform. From here, the platforms that you jump across will wind itself around the tower, continuously elevating you higher and higher.
When you reach the last platform, a shrine will be up ahead. Activate it to let the misty sand ascend once more. From the shrine, jump toward the jellyfish as you head up. It will lead you to an opening inside the tower.
Head through to the other side. You’ll see more jellyfish and a shrine up ahead.
GLYPH 2: Before you head to the shrine, exit from the tower, then use the right most jellyfish to float down to a building down below on the right side. You’ll see the shining glyph through the arched windows. Grab the glyph.
Now jump back toward the jellyfish to access the next shrine.
WALL: Face the shrine, then make a left from it. Hug the wall. It should be on your right side. Keep moving forward and you’ll see a carpet whale emerge from a tapestry-ed room. Enter that room to activate a wall.
GLYPH 3: Go behind one of the tapestries on the left side of the circular room, from the entrance, to grab a hidden glyph.
GLYPH 4: Exit the room, then ride the whale as it comes along. As it ascends above the mist, look toward the tower and enter it to find another glyph.
Ride the whale once more, until you reach a platform that just hugs the mist from the bottom. It is connected to another platform by carpet. Follow the carpet to the next platform, then the next. Jump to the next shrine, then activate it.
The sandy mist will rise up one last time. Jump to the top of the tower, then activate the obelisk to reach the next and final level.

The Summit
This is it, the push for the summit. Instead of sand, you’ll be faced with the bitter cold of snow. Move up through the valley, past the pillars. To your left is a vent. Activate it to thaw out a carpet creature. Keep moving forward with the moon toward you.
As you move up, you’ll notice the wind is very strong. Seek refuge behind the pillars so the wind won’t blow you back. Keep doing this until the wind stops. Keep heading up until you reach the cliffside.
Hang a left on the cliffside, toward the safety of the temple ahead. Enter it to activate the lantern, which will warm you up with it’s warm, soft, yellow glow.
WALL: Use the fabric patches to catapult your way up in this same room, toward a wall you can activate. Now head back outside toward the bridge. Warm up the frozen carpet to make your way across. Head through the narrow archway to the other side.
As you make your way up, you can feel the cold wind getting stronger. Push forward up the mountain. You’ll see the stone creatures flying around using their spotlight. Hide inside the structures littered about.
WALL 2: On the left side of this snowy valley, you’ll find a cave where a wall is hidden.
Keep hiding from the stone creatures until you reach a valley featuring three archways. As you enter this narrow passageway, the camera will pan up, using an overhead view. Keep moving along this path.
You’ll reach an open area with frozen carpets, the ones that look like seaweed. The camera will also pan up, telling you where you need to go. Use the carpets to head up and into the next archway.
Soon you’ll reach a cliffside balcony where the strong howling winds can push you back once more. As you hear the wind coming, stand behind the rocks to not get pushed back. Continue doing this as you keep climbing up.
You’ll reach a carpet that you need to thaw, to get across. From there, when you get to the other side, turn left and the white snowy mountain will fill up the screen. The summit will be looking down upon you with periodic lightning strikes crashing in the distance. You will keep getting pushed back and forth due to the violent wind. Eventually you will slow down and collapse, but the story isn’t over yet.
From here, your life will be rekindled. You will be shot through the sky in epic fashion. When you emerge above the clouds, all the creatures that helped you out on your journey will be here. Ride them to the once elusive summit.
Jump from rock platform to rock platform as well as carpet bridges, as you make your way through the arches. When you reach the arch with the beaming light, slide your way down the hill as you zip by rocky arches and snowfalls.
Use the carpet seaweed to maneuver your way up each next rocky platform. As you exit from the waterfall, use the jellyfish to float your way across the chasm below. Follow them to the next archway.
Ride the carpet whales across the majestic waterfalls. As it takes you up, use the carpet seaweed to hit one last sparkling archway. Follow the path up as you begin to glow. The summit is just up ahead. Ride the wave right to the very end.
Climb up the path to the light as the screen gets brighter and brighter, narrower and narrower. The screen will fade into white. Congratulations! You’ve just beat the amazing Journey! Bask in the glory as you watch the credits roll.
