Paris Prologue
Enjoy the opening cinematic. Seriously, the colors are vivid and if you’re new to this series, you might appreciate the cartoon-like graphics.
Once you have control of your character, go up the path for a quick cutscene with the chopper.
Smash the crates around you to get coins. There’s a whole bunch of them in this area.
Climb up the building and scale along the ledge. Continue along the top of the building for another cutscene with the chopper.
Climb up the rope and zipline your way across for another quick cutscene.
Use the ledge to get around to the front of the museum. Bentley will point it out to you. Make sure you go slow and take your time. Don’t get caught by the searchlight- make sure it’s completely out of the way before taking a few steps.
After the next cutscene, you will have control of Bentley the Brains. Head to the control room and use your hover pack to navigate the gaps. Is it just me, or does this totally look like some of the levels from Crash Bandicoot 2? Probably just me. Oh, make sure you pick up the Sly Mask that’s right along your way!
To disable the security system, you will need to complete a series of hacks. The interface is really cool and quite fun. Follow the instructions at the top of your screen. Patience is key here. If you get too far ahead of yourself you will run into the obstacle you need to get around. The fire wall is a great example.
Next, you will get control of Murray the Brawn. This big guy is your muscle. Playing with him is quite fun as well- he swings hard. Go straight up the path and collect the coins in your way for another cutscene.
Mash O repeatedly when prompted to do so.
The mission is a success! Now, you will need to make a getaway. Steer your way around the obstacles and keep on the gas! This is reminiscent a bit of the motorcycle mini game in Final Fantasy 7, eh? Oh. Just me again.
The Paris Prologue will end in another spiffy cutscene. So far, so good!
Turning Japanese
Select Sly to play the Photo Op job.
Go up the path and climb up the vine to find the Clue Bottle.
Make your way across the tops of the huts.
Once you reach the thing that looks like a wheel/giant gear, you will hit a cutscene.
Jump off the gear and head to the bridge. Take the path to your right and climb up to the rooftops to snap a shot of the Dragons Gates.
Make your way back towards the bridge and you will be able to snap a recon photo of the Sushi House.
To get the jade peach, activate the timer by the pond and quickly make your way across the rooftops, past the rope, and towards the end of the path.
Make your way up to the highest vantage point of the rooftops to get the right angle to take a picture of the Geisha house.
Once El Jefe comes out, snap a photo of him for a cutscene.
Once you have control of Sly again, go to the rooftops to the North for another cutscene.
Use your map to locate the three samurai armour pieces. You will have to approach the fat things from behind and take the pieces without the, noticing.

Use the map to locate Rioichi Cooper once inside the prison.
Take your armour off when you need to crawl under the small spaces, but make sure the guards aren’t watching or you will be caught. Immediately put it back on once you’ve stopped crawling.
In the last sequence you will have to quickly switch the armour off and on. You can’t jump in it, but you do need it to get through the fire. You also won’t have much luck dodging the pendulums with it, so get used to the timing of changing back and forth very quickly.
After the cutscene at the end of the prison path, you will have to use your costume to save Rioichi. Make sure you have it off when you jump and immediately put it back on when you land.
Once you get across all the platforms, you will be able to save Rioichi and complete the breakout.
After the next set of cutscenes, sneak into the sushi shop without being seen.
Once you have control of Rioichi, you will be able to get yourself to a much higher vantage point.

Sneak your way through the Geisha house and avoid the lasers, fire, and everything else that’s going to get in your way. Be patient when you reach the flames and take your time jumping from furnace to furnace.

Make your way to the CPU core and hide yourself behind the partitions to avoid the lasers and nano bot. Keep shooting the center of the eye to beat the CPU.
When you have control of Murray, go forward and lift up the gate. Continue along the path and hit the Giant Lamp Leaf.
Follow Bentley’s instructions to catch the fish. Put them in the carts around you and move on to the exit to complete Something’s Fishy.
Once you activate “Tiger Tail”, you will play Bentley and have him use his RC car. Your objective is to spy on El Jefe before the heist goes down.
Follow El Jefe once the timer starts and head straight up the path. Make sure not to fall into the water once you turn the corner.
In Spiked Sushi, move up the path as Rioichi and follow the map until you acquire the Poison Plant Seeds.
The final mission is Altitude Sickness. Pickpocket the key from the fatty samurai.
The big armour will come in handy once again as you will be able to use it to deflect fireballs on your way to El Jefe.
You will have some backup once you meet the boss’s goons on the bridge. Keep the spacing between your and your allies as big as possible.
After the next cutscene, Sly will challenge El Jefe on his own. Rioichi’s honor is at stake! Use the samurai armour to deflect El Jefe’s fireballs. Make sure you switch out of it right after- the armour really stunts your mobility.
The tiger’s attacks are predictable- once you deflect the fireballs back and stun him, get up close and land a few good hits. Beat him to complete Turning Japanese!
Go West Young Raccoon
In under arrest, make your way around the railroad tracks until you get Toothpick’s attention.

The next Bentley mission, Jailhouse blues, will require for you to get Bentley to the photo op.

After the next cutscene, use the map marker to find the Saloon for another cutscene.
Afrer the Bentley mini game, take control of Sly and head over to the Casino.
Avoid the search light and climb your way around the wall to make your way over across the giant card cutouts.
Once you accept Blind Date, follow Toothpick to the canyon for a cutscene.
Shoot down the targets to lower the bridge for the stagecoach. After the next scene, you’re going to havge to put your sharpshooting to work and keep the path clear for the stagecoach.
Hm. Jailbreak looks promising. I don’t remember the last time a mission opened with a sexy cutscene in this game..
Head due north on your map to reach the dock. Once you reach it, turn around and go back to the raft. You will have to repeat this process one more time to complete the mission.

Once you accept Starving Starving Hippo, run up to the penguin and press square to squeeze it.
Float down the stream on the chunk of ice and proceed up the snowy path towards the next map marker.
Run up to the pengun and press x to squeeze it again.

Once you have control in Copy Cats, turn the gear and head straight up the cavern path. Once you reach the giant door, sneak under it to proceed.
Jump from the ledge that says “Watch Your Step” on it and proceed. Watch for the enemies here- their reach is about 5 times the length of their body. Keep your distance from the lizard type things with the incredibly long tongues.
The last mini game of this mission is fun and self explanatory. Destroy the fortress- just fire away at the targets. Make sure to shoot the cannonballs coming towards you- it’s very to get caught up in your offense. Make sure you’re protecting yourself first and foremost and take your openings when they’re available!
