Before continuing, I stopped and replayed the early stages on Hard and Hardest to beef up my weapon selection. It’s a good idea to go back to early stages to earn the biggest weapons every ten missions or so.
Remember back to mission 6 in the underground cave? This time you’ll travel deeper into another chamber full of giant red ants. These ants are tougher but they don’t spit acid.
Grenades, Shotguns, or anything else that’s close-range will do the job here. When you’re outnumbered, all that matters is bringing enough firepower. Especially in Mission 22.
If you haven’t farmed for better weapons on harder difficulties yet, do it now. Here, you’ll be stuck with a small squad in a massive pit while bugs appear from above.
This mission is dependent on how much firepower you can bring. Explosives are going to be a dangerous prospect, with spiders and dead bodies dropping down directly from above.
Bring fast-firing weapons and try to handle the chaos.
The giant robots are rampaging through the city. Nothing special here, just take on each Hector one at a time.
Don’t draw multiple Hectors in and get yourself surrounded. Rocket Launchers or any weapons that can hit the walkers at a safe distance will help.
For this mission, you start on a cliff above the UFOs. Drop down onto the beach and wipe out the transports.
Drones like to swarm, but they’re a minor threat compared to the insects. If you keep weaving, they’ll almost always miss.
Another breather mission pits you against giant ambushers and regular jumping spiders. Just retreat and lead the spiders away, then deal with the webs. Rocket Launchers or Sniper Rifles will do the job if you’re afraid of getting caught in a web string.
This is when things get tough. This is a brutal mission, pitting the EDF troops against wave after wave of bugs. Bring explosive weapons to soften the hordes before they’re on top of you.
Thankfully, there are plenty of allies to find. Run forward and recruit the Rangers before moving back. Snipers and Fencers will help even the red ant population. When you’re surrounded, run around to recruit the rest of the soldiers to stay close.
This simple mission introduces the Red Flyer Drones. They’re tougher and stronger, but still easy to avoid. Make this mission easier with Missile Weapons for their lock-on capabilities.
This large flat field is perfect for ranged combat. Bring Rocket Launchers or Sniper Rifles with a close-range secondary.
The first wave of Hectors is destroyed thanks to some EDF support. Hang back, then deal with the stragglers. Next, you’ll need to handle Shield Walkers protecting some of the Hectors.
It’s a long and grueling fight. Make sure your weapons are versatile, and try to upgrade with Hard or Hardest weapon sets.
Back into the tunnels beneath the mall. You should be pretty familiar with the area this time, and the combat is pretty much the same.
You’ll need to go in deeper this time. Punch through the hordes with shotguns, flamethrowers, or swarms of grenades. The last underground mission ended in a large room with red ants. Jump to the bottom to keep going down.
Clear each wave, and another will appear. Use the new red enemy markers to guide you through the level.
You’re overwhelmed and surrounded. From the start of the level, turn right and fight down this tunnel. The fewest bugs appear here. Break through, then use the free tunnel to retreat while fighting the incoming aliens.
This way, you won’t have bugs directly on your back while trying to fight. Avoid getting surrounded, then hunt down the remaining aliens to complete this tricky mission.
Missions 31-40
Mission 31: Charge Phase 3
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Spiders, Ants, Queens
Another grueling mission with a tough ending. When you reach a massive chamber with a land-bridge, don’t drop down. Cross the bridge to reach the queen’s hall.
Surprisingly, you’ll have two queens to deal with. These giant ants spray a steady stream of damaging acid. Strafe left or right and roll to quickly get out of the stream.
They’re huge targets. The first is the hardest it’ll continue to spray acid through the entrance. Draw the ant guards out, then go inside to deal with the queen between acid attacks. There’s a second queen in the darkness ahead.
Mission 32: Thunder
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Hectors, Shield Walkers, Drones, Mothership
The Mothership is back. You don’t need to completely defeat it, but destroying the Genocide Gun is required. Shoot the giant red diamond attached to the huge gun protruding from the bottom of the Mothership to destroy it.
Once the giant ship’s weapons are destroyed, you can clear out the remaining Hectors and Shield Walkers. With enough of the enemies down, start shooting the exposed red core underneath the Mothership. Eventually, panels will appear and start shooting.
The upper panels shoot inaccurate laser beams, while the lower panels launch explosive plasma. The explosives are slow, but they’re much more dangerous than the lasers. Destroy the lower panels first. Keep shooting the red core, and eventually the giant Mothership will retreat.
Mission 33: Infiltration
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Spiders, Web Spiders, Tunnels
This simple kill mission is complicated by tunnels. Waves of Spiders will spawn from the cave entrances, so you’ll have to move forward quickly. Beware the web spider’s net attacks.
Mission 34: Convergence
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Drones, Transports, Spiders, Ants, Red Ants, Hectors
Bring a Rocket Launcher or Sniper Rifle, you’ll need something with 3000m range to deal with the transports in the distance. Shoot the red core whenever they’re open while retreating and fighting the waves of insects they drop.
Aim carefully, you should be able to shoot the core between the hatch panels. There’s no need to get directly beneath the transports.
Don’t shoot at the drones. If you don’t get close or shoot at them, they won’t attack you. Save them for later.
Mission 35: Inferno
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Drones, Red Drones, Queens
Prepare for an intense fight. If you haven’t farmed for weapons by replaying early levels on Hard, Hardest, or Inferno – now is the time to do it. A giant horde is coming your way, and there’s no way to handle their numbers without powerful weapons.
A Queen will appear with several Red Drones after the first wave. Red Drones might be tough, but they aren’t that dangerous. Focus fire on the Queen and kill it before it gets close.
Mission 36: Starship
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Mothership, Drones, Hectors, Transports
This is it. The final battle against the Mothership. If you remember the previous encounters, know that destroying the giant gun is your first priority. Destroy the Genocide Gun by shooting the red diamond, then shoot the exposed red core of the Mothership.
Once the Mothership takes enough damage, panels will appear and start firing. Destroy as many as you can, but take out the lower panels first. Before the Mothership is destroyed, it will deploy massive new guns that can kill your EDF soldier almost instantly. Stay far away from the Mothership to avoid these, and shoot the red circles on the sides of the guns.
When the mission starts, you’ll want to destroy the transports as quickly as possible. The fewer enemies you have to deal with during this tough boss fight, the better.
Mission 37: Dense
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Tunnels
This is a nice breather after the intense fight against the Mothership. Multiple tunnels are dotted around the end of this dock.
Fight straight down the road, then destroy the shipping containers to give yourself a clean shot against the clusters of tunnels. Bring them down one at a time to end this mission.
Mission 38: Crossing
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Hectors, Tunnels, Ants, Spiders
There are tunnels visible right away. The Hectors are armed with artillery, but that’s easy to dodge as long as you keep running. Take down the visible tunnels across the valley first, then deal with the Hectors.
The first tunnel is left of the road, clearly visible. The second tunnel is up on a hill near the road. It can be tough to eyeball, but it’s there.
Mission 39: Search
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Stingray M2 (Lv20)
Enemies: Ants, Bees
Destroying the first wave of ants leads to the appearance of a new enemy. Bees are a flying enemy that fire shotgun-spread needles at their target. They’ll stop for a moment to attack, making them just slightly easier to shoot than drones.
Unlike drones, bees are single-minded and stable. They won’t flop around when shot, so you’ll need to keep moving and shooting to stay alive. To attack, the bees need to be relatively close, giving you an edge if you bring shotguns or assault rifles.
Mission 40: Waterside Bugs
Weapons: AF19 (Lv32) / Cascade 1 (Lv10)
Enemies: Bees, Spiders, Tunnels
The enemies spawn from the canal beneath the bridge ahead. There are multiple tunnels down there that release bees or spiders. Jump down into the canal to crush the tunnels fast, and this mission shouldn’t be too bad.
Like any mission with spawners, you can farm for armor or weapons easily. Just destroy the rest of the tunnels until one is left, then clear out the wave as it appears and collect your spoils.
Missions 41-50
Mission 41: Annihilation
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Stingray M4 (Lv40)
Enemies: Transports, Ants, Red Ants, Earth Eaters, Scout Drones, Advanced Transports, Bees
After destroying the first two transports, a new and impressive Ravager weapon will appear. The Earth Eaters are massive panels that appear in the sky, blocking out the sun and stopping any air-drops.
The Earth Eaters come in two varieties so far – red and blue. When the panels in red open, they’ll spawn enemies. The blue panels unfold and fire massive killer beams. Whatever you do, don’t stand underneath the blue Earth Eaters!
Destroy enough of the panels, and a new type of Transport will appear. These tougher Advanced Transports drop larger waves of enemies, including the new Scout Drones and Bees. Don’t bother destroying the new transport UFO, just keep killing enemies until you’re ordered to retreat.
Mission 42: Natural Calamity
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / MLRA-30 (Lv21)
Enemies: Drones, Earth Eaters, Scout Drones,
The Earth Eaters return and spawn Scout Drones. These slow, stable drones hover above and fire accurate laser beams. When they’re shooting, roll and destroy them as quickly as possible. If they gang up, they can kill your EDF trooper fast.
Watch out for the blue Earth Eater panels, and try to smash the red panels to halt the flow of Scout Drones. But, they’ll only spawn a finite number of drones. After the first few waves, the mission will end.
Mission 43: Steel Beast
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Earth Eaters, Deroys
The red Earth Eaters spawn massive tripods called Deroys. These deadly new Ravager weapons come armed with plasma artillery, lasers, and a stomping attack.
Stay far away. When the Deroys stand near your trooper, they’ll launch their sharp foot out like a spear. Target the large center with rockets to safely bring the Deroys down.
Mission 44: Void Ship
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Spiders, Ants, Red Ants
The new transports return for another fight. They might be bigger and tougher than regular Transports, but they’re easier to hit from the front and back.
The core becomes exposed while spawning enemies, with the metal shields only blocking the sides. There’s no retreat this time. Stand your ground and take out every advanced transport as it teleports in.
Mission 45: Blue Fighters
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Advanced Hectors
The Ravagers just keep sending new enemy types your way. This time, the advanced Hectors drop out of the massive transports.
These blue-hued robots come with upgraded plasma beams. Later, they’ll have a personal shield. There’s no way to shoot through the red shield, you’ll have to hit the Hector from the back or sides.
Sometimes, that just isn’t possible. When the shielded Hectors are coming straight for you, shoot the exposed gun on their right arm to destroy them.
Mission 46: Earth Defenders
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Shield Walkers, Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Bees
This is a straight-forward mission. Groups of insects and shield walkers are scattered across the landscape. Simply hit each target, one at a time.
Mission 47: Mountain Pass Trap
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Stingray M4 (Lv40)
Enemies: Ants, Spiders, Web Spiders, Bees
The Earth Eaters that appear near the end of the mission aren’t really a threat. The valleys are populated with web spiders. Jump down, or hang out on the cliffs above, and clear the winding passage to reach every group of enemies.
Mission 48: Fortress Frenzy
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Walking Fortress, Ants, Red Ants, Drones
The giant Walking Fortress is one of the tougher opponents you’ll face in EDF2025. This giant spawns waves of enemies. When the hatch opens on the chest, the red core becomes vulnerable. Because of the awkward position, the core is especially tricky to hit unless you’re almost directly beneath the walker.
Watch out for the main cannon on the fortress. It fires explosive plasma blasts – destroy it before going for the core. Hit the vulnerable point enough, and the walker will spawn more laser guns. Destroy those too, they’re incredibly accurate.
The walker is faster than it looks. Watch its trajectory, the walker will trudge toward the edges of the map before turning around. Put yourself in its path and shoot up when the hatch opens. There’s no need to destroy the thing, once it leaves the map completely you’ll have won the mission.
Mission 49: Pincer
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Hectors, Advanced Hectors, Ants
Turn right and punch through the shielded Hectors to the right. If you can avoid the pincer attack, this short mission shouldn’t be too difficult.
Mission 50: Ravages of War
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Bees, Tunnels
Just another standard tunnel and bug hunt. Hit each tunnel in your path and clear the nests to finish this filler mission.
Missions 51-60
Mission 51: Air Mobilization
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / MLRA-TW (Lv47)
Enemies: Drones, Red Drones, Scout Drones
Missile Launchers are a life-saver against huge swarms of flying enemies. Bring one or two on the ride, and don’t worry about hitting distant Transports or anything like that. This is all about you and tons of flying drones.
Swat these annoying pests out of the sky with any weapons that lock-on and home in.
Mission 52: Bug Invasion
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Spiders
Go back and replay Missions 1-5 on Hardest or Inferno to upgrade your arsenal if this mission is giving you trouble. This is just a slug-match against a massive army of insects. Without strong weapons, you’ll get crushed.
Mission 53: Transport Ship Surprise Attack
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Drones, Scout Drones, Ants, Red Ants, Spiders
Bring some heavy Rocket Launcher artillery to deal with the transports as they teleport in. Take down each wave of transports and defeat the standard enemy waves to complete another simply mission.
Mission 54: Bug King
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: King Spiders, Spiders
Rocket Launchers or Sniper Rifles are your friend here. Stay far away from the King Spiders, these enormous monsters fire a wide spray of webs that can hit hundreds of meters away. More than a few strings can kill you in a second.
Continue to retreat while picking off the spiders. Whenever you have a clear shot, unload into the King Spiders. Killing them quickly will make this battle much more manageable. They’re easy to see, and easy to shoot anywhere on the map.
Mission 55: Crazy Skies
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Earth Eaters, Scout Drones, Deroys
It’s you versus the Earth Eaters. The deadly skybound shapes are bringing even more firepower. Some panels will be covered in lasers and plasma guns. The individual turrets can be destroyed with rockets, but there’s a better way to weaken the Earth Eaters.
Aim for the massive red cores. Destroying the sunken cores will kill every conjoining Earth Eater panel. Target the sunken red cores first, then go for the blue beams and spawners.
Destroy enough of the Earth Eaters, and the mission will end. Don’t worry, you don’t have to kill all of them.
Mission 56: The Fleet Below
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Transports, Ants, Hectors
After that intense fight, this is an easy battle. Drop down the hillside, destroying each ship on the way. On the lowest level, several artillery Hectors are waiting. Don’t shoot at them right away, they’re inactive and won’t pay attention to you.
Mission 57: Bad Premonition
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Ants, Dragons
Come equipped to fight flying enemies. After the first waves of ants, the new dragons will attack. These deadly lizards swoop across the sky and strafe with fireballs. When launching an attack, dragons fly directly for you and land.
While on the ground, dragons will try to bite like the ants. The best strategy is to keep running backwards, rolling when necessary, while unloading powerful shotguns or assault rifles at the diving dragons.
Mission 58: City of Horror
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / MLRA-TW (Lv47)
Enemies: Dragons
The dragons are back, and there’s even more of them. There’s nothing else to recommend. Try returning to Mission 4 and farming for Inferno weapons if you’re having trouble.
Mission 59: Mountains Ablaze
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Deroys, Dragons
If dragons weren’t bad enough, you’ll need to deal with Deroys too. Take care of the Deroy before it tries to stomp on the EDF troops like a bug, then pick off the dragons.
Mission 60: Breaking Through
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Web Spiders, Spiders, Tunnels
Nothing special here, just a ton of huge web spiders. Watch out — web spiders can launch their webs through buildings. Bring explosives and destroy any buildings blocking your way.
Any structures with webs attached can’t be demolished until the webs are destroyed. Clear a path through and bring the bugs down.
Missions 61-70
Mission 61: Bug Tower
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Bees
The massive bee nest might look imposing, but you don’t really need to worry about it. Fight the bees it spawns, and you’ll win this fight. Don’t worry about range, bring Missile Launchers to swat the bees.
Mission 62: Fortress Attack
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Walking Fortress, Hectors, Ants, Drones
Time to finally destroy the Walking Fortress. The walker will slowly circle the map, try to position yourself so that the fortress is walking towards you. It’s faster than it looks, and can easily out pace you.
Bring a launcher and fire at the hatch on the chest when it opens. Avoid the stomping feet, and shoot the plasma cannon on the back end of its torso. Do enough damage, and new laser rifles will appear. When they do, back off and destroy them at range.
Mission 63: Mountain Liberation
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Spiders, Ants, Red Ants, Dragons
The groupings of insects aren’t interested in you at the start of the mission. Pick them off, one at a time. Each time one or two waves are destroyed, a swarm of dragons will descend.
Move slowly and handle each group alone. Bring explosives to bombard the unaware bugs and you’ll clear the mission in no time.
Mission 64: Sniper Attack
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Drones, Scout Drones, Spiders
Time for a change of pace. Instead of hunting bugs, you’ll take a sniping position on a skyscraper. Spiders swarm the ground floor, so it’s important you don’t jump down or accidentally destroy the building.
Bring Rocket Launchers or Sniper Rifles, just be careful with explosives. One stray hit can bring your safe zone down.
Shoot the transports in the distance and wipe out the spawning drones. When the skies are clear, Wing Diver reinforcements will sweep the spiders below.
Mission 65: Towering Beast
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Super Deroy, Transports, Ants, Hectors, Advanced Hectors
The title is right. The giant Deroy is armed with 3x the firepower of a regular Deroy, and it’s massive gait makes it surprisingly fast. It’ll close in and start stomping you before long. Immediately retreat and pelt the giant with rockets. It’s big, but it isn’t invincible.
The segmented laser cannons on its legs can be destroyed, They don’t take much damage, but they’re pretty hard to peg. Wipe out the ant waves from the transports and take note of the health drops, they might just save your life.
Mission 66: Teeth of the Universe
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Red Ants, Tunnels, Advanced Transports,
From the starting location, turn to face the red ant swarm and look on the hill where the canyon splits. Clear the trees, and you’ll be able to spot the tunnel. Destroy it to stop the spawning ants before the giant transport arrives.
The UFO unloads a wave of dragons, so you don’t want to have red ants on your rear the whole time. Finish off the lizards, and this relatively simplistic mission is over.
Mission 67: Giant Ship
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Argo, Scout Drones
Now things get interesting. The huge warship is armed to the teeth with lasers, plasma, and artillery cannons. Just don’t stand in front of it. Keep strafing to the side and use extreme-range weapons to hit the thing. It’s a big target, you won’t miss.
There’s no special weak-points here. Just shoot the thing. Once you’ve done enough damage, the Argo will transform into a walker. Stay far, far away. Don’t get close, and keep shooting.
Mission 68: Spearhead
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Shield Walkers, Spiders, Tunnels
To complicate the fight, you’ll have to destroy Shield Walkers to find and crush the tunnels across the mountains. Bring close-range weapons, you won’t be able to destroy the tunnels from a safe distance like usual.
Otherwise, this is a pretty standard mission with no surprises.
Mission 69: Tower Siege
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Bees
Back at the bug tower, you’ll get your chance to destroy it. There’s no special trick, just unload rockets into the dark holes. You can shoot the hive anywhere to inflict damage, but focus on the dark areas to curtail the spawning bees.
Mission 70: Den of Thieves
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Spiders,
Back underground, you’d think arming for close-quarters combat would be a good idea. Really, the chambers in the nest are vast. Wipe out the spiders from above before jumping down, and don’t miss the flamethrower team on your map.
Recruit the EDF Rangers, then continue into the hive. In the next chamber, sweep up the spiders to complete the mission.
Missions 71-80
Mission 71: Death Queen
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Bees, Death Queen
You’re already surrounded as the mission starts. Pick a direction and shoot through the bees to escape. Clearing this area will lead into the Death Queen’s lair.
The giant Queen bees are just like the King Spiders – bigger, more powerful, but an easy target. Kill the first Death Queen through the narrow passage into its chamber, then deal with the second one before it gets close. It’s needle attack can send your trooper rag-dolling if you’re not careful.
Mission 72: Machine Squad
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Hectors, Deroys, Super Deroy
The massive UFOs in the distance drop waves of Deroys. Destroy the transports first, then target each Deroy one at a time. Keep moving, the Hectors will continuously pelt your position with artillery until they’re destroyed.
When the first waves are wiped out, Earth Eaters will drop in to spawn two giant Super Deroys. To help distract them, don’t recruit the nearby EDF soldiers. Let them stand on the main road, and position yourself so the Deroys wander into them.
Instead of attacking you, they’ll waste time trying to kill the AI soldiers. While they’re busy, just keep shooting.
Mission 73: Monster Party
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / MLRA-TW (Lv47)
Enemies: Dragons
Grab a Missile Launcher and go to town on another swarm of dragons. Its a simple mission – just a slug-match between you and a few waves of dragons, but it can get tough. Take a powerful Assault Rifle or automatic Shotgun to help handle the dragons after they land.
Mission 74: Labyrinth of Light
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Shield Walkers, Advanced Transports, Ants, Drones, Deroys, Giant Deroys,
This mission is a pain. Giant shields block your shots everywhere you go, and transports will constantly spawn new waves of enemies. You’ll need long-range weapons to shoot down the transports, but those weapons won’t do much good in the tight confines of the shields.
Work slow, and take care of every shield unit on the starting dock before crossing the bridge toward the warehouse area.
Mission 75: City Flaws
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Earth Eaters, Bees, Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Tunnels
There’s a line of tunnels spawning bugs along both sides of the canal. Pick a direction and destroy everything before doubling back and taking out the remainder. It’s easy to get overwhelmed if you aren’t aggressive!
Mission 76: Monster Camp
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Dragons
EDF actually has some reinforcements for you this time. Use the extra soldiers as bait for the incoming dragons and ants, and wipe out the hordes while they’re bunched up.
Huge armies of enemies will appear after each wave. Take note of the other EDF positions in the area, and fall back behind them so they can absorb the brunt of the alien’s attacks.
Mission 77: Fallen Flagship
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Brain, Super Deroys, Hectors, Shield Walkers, Scout Drones, Earth Eaters
The Ravager leader has been found, and its protected by an army of powerful robots. You’ll have to clear them all out, including the Shield Walkers. Don’t worry about the brain yet, just start taking care of the enemies in the crater.
Bring a Rocket Launcher or Sniper Rifle and target the huge red “head” above the armored section of the Brain. When the Earth Eaters appear, destroy the red cores to expose the head of the brain. Dish out enough damage, and the leader will retreat.
Wait for the Shield Drones to walk up the hill to you, or jump down early on and destroy them. There’s no way to leave the crater once you jump in.
Mission 78: Heaven’s Army
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Dragons, Bees
Nothing special going on here, just another fight against transports as they spawn airborne enemies. Shoot down the transports with long-range weapons, and bring a Missile Launcher or any other favorite weapon to deal with the annoying bees and dragons.
Mission 79: Encircling
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Transports, Advanced Transports, Bees, Ants, Spiders
UFOs have the city encircled, and each one opens to drop waves of new enemies. Prepare for a long fight, and bring the right weapons to knock the transports out of the sky.
Target the weaker ships first if you can, but it’s always a good idea to shoot at any transport while it’s open.
Cross the bridge over the canal to slow down the enemy onslaught. The trench will slow down the ground-based enemies, but you’ll still have bees on your back. Take down the transports one at a time.
Mission 80: Divine
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Super Dragon, Dragons
Another boss appears after taking out the puny giant dragons. The gargantuan Super Dragon is fast, bring Rockets and Sniper Rifles to target the monster’s wings. It’s tough to hit, but if you damage the wings enough, the beast will fight on the ground.
Like regular dragons, the boss circles its prey before swooping down and spraying the area with fire. Its fire is extremely powerful, so don’t lose track of its position when new waves of regular dragons show up.
If you can bring the Super Dragon down to the ground, you’ll just need to back away and pelt the creature from a safe distance to win the fight.
Missions 81-85
Mission 81: The Threat
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Bees
Like Inferno or any of the other missions in the wasteland, be prepared for a grueling fight. Waves of ants, red ants, bees and spiders will appear in the distance.
Wreck the hordes from a distance, you’ll need to do as much damage as possible before they close in. The battle really gets tricky near the end, when three waves appear and surround you.
Choose one of the waves and rush forward, wiping it out before the other two groups crawl all over you. Earth Eaters will appear, but they won’t attack.
Mission 82: Battle to the Death
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Argo, Advanced Transports, Scout Drones, Hectors
The Argo is already transformed, waiting to fight on the beach with transports, and drones at its back. Don’t try attacking the Argo head-on, its twin cannons can kill you in one hit.
Destroy the drones, then pick off the transports when they open. Try to save the giant Argo for last.
Mission 83: Massive Mobilization
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Advanced Transports, Hectors, Advanced Hectors, Scout Drones, Ants, Spiders, Deroys
More long fights against hordes of enemies! Bring weapons to take down the Hectors and transports before they even get close. Scouts are annoying, but they’re easy to pick off with a good assault rifle.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed early on as every transport drops its payload of enemies. Keep running away from the transports, and try to position yourself in front of them. Even from the sides, you’ll usually be able to shoot through the panel armor if you’re very careful.
Split time between whittling down the enemy hordes and shooting the transports as they open. The faster you bring down the transports, the more manageable this mission will be.
Mission 84: Scorching
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Ants, Red Ants, Spiders, Scout Drones, Hectors, Bees, Advanced Transports
Yet another grueling mission in the wastelands. This time, the bugs are joined by Hectors and Scout Drones to make the fight even harder. After the first few waves, three Advanced Transports will teleport onto the scene. Pick them off to complete the mission.
Firepower is the name of the game here. If it becomes too brutal, just lower the difficulty down to Easy. After unlocking a level, you can replay it at any difficulty level.
Mission 85: Star Eaters
Weapons: AF20 (Lv46) / Cascade 2 (Lv31)
Enemies: Brain, Earth Eaters, Advanced Earth Eaters, Mutant Earth Eaters, Drones
This is it, the final battle against the Brain. This is easily the longest battle in the game, so strap in and prepare for a long one.
At the start of the fight, the Earth Eaters are your standard variants. Target the massive red cores to knock groups of the panels out of the sky, exposing the brain. Don’t forget to blow open any enemy spawning hatches, too.
Once the Brain is exposed, blast it with everything you’ve got.
There are three distinct phases to this fight, and after damaging the Brain enough, it will instantly destroy every Earth Eater in the area so they can be replaced. Don’t bother hunting down and destroying every Earth Eater, shooting the brain will do it, too.
Try to keep your health full before entering the second phase of the fight. The Earth Eaters are always at their most deadly right when they appear.
When the Advanced Earth Eaters appear, destroy as many of them as you can, as fast as possible. Target the giant red cores to drop the conjoining panels out of the sky, shoot the hatches as they open, and always target the largest turrets first.
As the second wave of Earth Eaters appears, take note of the reverse-pyramid shaped blue gun panels. If they open while you’re underneath one, you’re dead meat.
With the Brain exposed a second time, keep pelting it with rockets or sniper file until the final phase begins.
The Mutant Earth Eaters are almost as big as the Brain itself. They don’t cover the Brain’s weak point, but you’ll want to destroy them quickly anyway. Just as they descend from space, look directly above. If you’re standing underneath one, move away.
The circle of Mutant Earth Eaters spin around the Brain, firing panel-sized blasts of explosive plasma. Don’t get caught standing underneath one of these. Luckily, the new Earth Eaters have no specific weak point. You can shoot the sides the bottom – any part of these red Earth Eaters is vulnerable.
Shoot them down and move out of their line of fire. When you’re in a safe place, deal the final blow to the Brain and save the Earth. EDF! EDF!
