Uncharted 3 may well be the highest scoring game to date, with perfect 10s from all over the gaming press. The game takes place after the events of the second, and follows Nathan Drake in his latest foray—this time into the Arabian desert in search of a lost city.
IncGamer calls the game's single player mode a "masterful execution" and lauds its competitive multiplayer for offering "all the bells and whistles". In similar praise, 1up says that the game's creators Naughty Dog "continues to prove they are masters of their craft." All in all, a game no gamer will want to miss.

There’s some brave design work in action here too – it won’t be a surprise for you to learn that there’s a chunk of the game set in the desert, but the way this is handled (at first, at least) will likely divide gamers into those that think it’s really clever and those that don’t. I’m in the former group, it’s a really smart move, albeit one without the payoff I was expecting. Other sections work flawlessly though – a woozy sequence through crowded streets, a surprisingly tender moment between two desperate people and a massive multi-level set piece that showcases some astonishing water effects.

Uncharted 3’s multiplayer elements don’t quite represent the same level of masterful execution as the single player, but they’re still more than worthy of sinking many a weekend into. Co-op missions take place on edited arenas taken from the single player, while competitive multiplayer offers all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a modern game. These include deathmatch and objective game modes, character customisation, XP-based levelling up and planned DLC. There’s also a rather neat ‘Uncharted TV’ feature that shows a loop of the best moments from the online community while you wait for the game to start.

This is probably my biggest problem with the entire series. Too often, it feels like the waves of enemies are never going to end, and after several chapters of playing loose with ammo and combat, the stark change always throws me. Speaking of the combat system, though, Naughty Dog has refined the melee combat once more to make for an incredibly enjoyable experience. While many have felt the melee system of the first two games felt a little convoluted, everything in Drake's Deception flows nearly perfectly, from straight-up one-on-one combat to multiple enemies at once, as well as special takedowns, environmental takedowns, and countering. All of these elements keep the action fresh and the gameplay near cinematic. The hallmark of the Uncharted series is that its games feel like action movies, and Naughty Dog proves once again just how well they know the PS3's outstanding capabilities of providing this experience.
