New Super Mario Bros 2 – World 4 Star Coin Locations

Here is the World 4 star coin location guide played through and verified by one of our hard working and mario addicted writers.  World 4 consists of mostly ice and water with the gold flower making appearances in world 4-1

 We have compiled a list of all the star coin locations in all 11 levels within World 4 including the A,B,C alternate path levels. 

 Some of these are pretty tricky to get to and are located in hidden areas and since we cannot take screen shots of each location we will do our best to explain where they are in text.   By collecting the star coins you can unlock special features in the game as well as unlocking the Star world (You will need to pay 90 Star coins to unlock the main path for Star world and to reveal the Star world you must complete World 6 Castle).

 

World 4-1 Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location First coin is easy to spot.  Shortly after the start of the game simply drop down to the lower floor and avoid the giant black spikey balls to get the coin. Star Coin 2 Location The second coin is also easy to collect. Ensure that you have the raccoon mario enabled then fly up to the icy wall before entering in the second ice cave. Star Coin 3 Location The last coin is just near star coin 2.  Go through the ice cave then fly upwards to a hidden path to the left wall.

 

World 4-Boo Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location The first star coin is in the room with the moving walls after the door to the top.  When the walls move back to the left wall jump up the ledge and get the star coin. Star Coin 2 Location After you make a sharp fall (the red down arrow) wall jump so you can stay in the same spot and the walls will move in to the location of the second star coin. Star Coin 3 Location When you are moving through a room with moving walls you see a blue P switch.  Instead of collecting the blue coins focus on moving up the platformswhen you see a spring board drop in jump to your left, there is the final star coin.

 

World 4-2 Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location Just after the start, perform a running jump after the red pipe to collect the Star Coin. Star Coin 2 Location After the Checkpoint Flag, as you come out of the red pipe. Use the Buzzy Beetle to hit the POW Blocks, Use Dash to move forward before the Buzzy Beetle hits the second to last POW Block that destroys the brick blocks to the Star Coin. If you fail to get it in time, simply triple jump into the red pipe and wall kick to get the Star Coin. Star Coin 3 Location The Final star coin isnt to hard to get, just before the flag pole hop on the red koopa once and throw it down at the start coin to collect it.

 

World 4-Tower Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location First star coin is located between two bone piranha plants.  As you approach them on the upwards moving platform position yourself under the coin, jump up and get it. Star Coin 2 Location You will need to be Mini Mario for this coin, enter the small pipe when the screen stops moving. Inside is the second Star Coin. Star Coin 3 Location The third star coin is near the top of the platforms just use the platforms to avoid the Piranha’s and grab the coin.  Get out quick so you don’t get trapped.

 

World 4-3 Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location You will need a Koopa for this coin, when you see the gold ring pick up the koopa, activate the ring thenthrow the koopa down the hill.  Run with the gold shell until it breaks the brick leading to the first star coin,  do a slide under the small platform to grab the coin. Star Coin 2 Location Second star coin is floating above some Piranha plants.  Make a running leap to grab the coin. Star Coin 3 Location After the Blue P there is a hill with a platform at the end.  You need to jump on that platform and make a running jump for the last star coin.

 

World 4-4 Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location Use the pully platform by standing on the right side first to raid the left, then hop onto the left one and make a jump for the coin. Star Coin 2 Location Just before the checkpoint flag there will be a lone brick grab a  Koopa shell and hit that brick to reveal a bean stalk. Climb the bean stalk and grab the star coin at the top. Star Coin 3 Location The last star coin is located abouve a series of pullies, you need to adjust the pullies then make a running jump to grab the star coin.

 

World 4-5 Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location Go up the first gold pipe you see in the level .  Kill off the Cheep Cheep then ground pound to overcome the water currents and grab the coin. Star Coin 2 Location This one is tricky, you think you can grab the coin easily but invisible blocks beg to differ, you will need to go up the right side then at the top go to your left. Star Coin 3 Location Not long after the second Star Coin, stay near the bottom and enter a green pipe. Inside, hit the switch to disable the current dodge the cheep cheeps and grab the last Star Coin before the ?  time runs out.

 

World 4-Castle Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location When you see the blue P don’t collect any coins before it.  Activate the P and then use the now converted bricks to the left to jump up and grab the coin. Star Coin 2 Location The second coin is wedged between a big spike ball and a couple walls, wait for the spike ball to move and grab the coin, but be quick! Star Coin 3 Location The last star coin is floating near the green pipe at the top of the room.  Jump on the catapillar blocks as they move across the room to grab the coin.  Use the green pipe to leave the room.

 

World 4-A Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location The first star coin is located near the start of the level but the walkway prevents you from getting it.   Keep going forward until you see 2 bricks in the walk way.  Ground pound the bricks to break them then go backwards to the left to get back to the star coin. Star Coin 2 Location The second star coin is located high above the pink toadstool just after the red ring.  Wait for a goomba to drop onto the toad stool then double jump off of it to get extra height to grab the coin. Star Coin 3 Location The third star coin needs a mini mario.  After a red pipe there is a couble blocks in the walk way, ground stomp it the make a mini mushroom appear.  Run to the right and wait for the mushroom to show up after the two blue pipes.  Now that you are mini mario you can go under the platform and grab the coin.

 

World 4-B Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location The first star coin is located along the Amp track move past the star coin then slip in between two of the amps and double back to grab it. Star Coin 2 Location After the checkpoint flag there is a large number of bricks, use ground pound to break them and enter a hidden area.  The coin is just above another Amp track. Star Coin 3 Location The last star coin is located just before the end of the cavern under 2 Amp tracks.  Use the donut blocks to lower yourself down to the star coin but jump off before the block falls.

 

World 4-C Star Coin Locations Star Coin Location Star Coin 1 Location The first star coin is located above a fuzzy with a couple pows and bricks, Use the bricks to jump up and grab the coin. Star Coin 2 Location Just after the midway checkpoint flag you will move up three moving platforms. At the top instead of going right, head left and enter a green pipe. Hit the two POW blocks to rid the room of Fuzzys and grab the Star Coin at the top. Star Coin 3 Location The last star coin is located just after the green pipe (at the end of the cavern) there is a big fuzzy there you will need to be fire mario and defeat the big fuzzy then use wall jump to grab the star coin.
