The Year Of Luigi Comes to an End

This past year has seen our much beloved hero, Luigi, emerge from the shadows of his brother Mario, and at last take the spotlight he deserves. Nintendo announced the Year of Luigi, an entire year (more actually) to celebrate our dear green plumber, and release a series of games entirely dedicated to him, such as Luigi’s Mansion 2, Super Luigi Bros, and Dr Luigi. It would seem that we all have great love for him, and it has been a great year of fantastic games and ghost hunting to the fullest. Long live Luigi!

Shiguru Miyamoto has today announced that, to our great sadness, that on the 18th of March the Year of Luigi will officially finish, and Luigi must hand the baton back to his plumber counterpart. He confirmed that while the Year of Luigi is coming to an end, it was a great year nonetheless, and he very much enjoyed all the love and adoration of the fans throughout the period. With one month left of the wondrous year, Miyamoto asks that everyone vent out as much love for Luigi while they can, and that we not forget him any time soon! I’m sure we won’t!
