How Gaming Effects Everyday Life

As a gamer, there is always a burden we must carry – the fact that the real world exists.

Sadly, if we don’t participate in that real world stuff, people think we’re weird, or losers, and most of the time food is out there. So, in order to survive, we must become a part of it. But, as we gamers blend in, its always easy to spot a gamer hidden away, for it effects our every day life, with little things normal people might never notice. You see, gaming has become part of us, snuggled safely in our brains, and it can’t help but burst out excitedly when it thinks something in the real world could actually be about gaming. There are many ways that gaming effects our every day life, but here are some I’m sure many of us, or certainly myself, cannot help.

– When someone says they are off to the gym, your first initial thought is that they mean a Pokemon Gym. But no, alas they work with weights and rowing machines, not Brock or Misty.

– When there’s a strong wind, someone falls over, or, if you’re extremely classy, you’re about to burp or fart, you can’t help but shout “FUS ROH DAH” in your head for the awesome effect.

– You find that you have more friends on Steam, Xbox Live and the Miiverse than you actually do in the outside world.

– In your brain “COD” no longer means a kind of fish.

– While watching F1 racing, you can’t help but think it’d be much cooler with Red Shells.

– When someone offers you cake, you’re immediate response is “No, the cake is a lie”. Well it is!

– Whenever you find something you lost or even find something new, you are extremely tempted to sing the Zelda music as Link uncovers treasures.

– When you hear of a car theft, thanks to GTA, it doesn’t seem like a big deal.

– Night and day often have little meaning, as much of the time, gaming overtakes sleep, and the time periods merge together.

– When talking to your parents, using words such as “FPS “RPG” “MMO” “WII” they think you’re speaking another language.

– Thanks to zombie survival games, you think it would be the coolest thing ever, and actually want the apocalypse to happen.

– Because you like games, and games are awesome, obviously that means you’re awesome too. Well at least I think so!
