Everyone’s favorite Edenian princess is back in Mortal Kombat X and she is better than ever. While her Royal Storm variation may seem very similar to her MK9 iteration, she actually plays very differently. Here we will break down her Royal Storm move set, string attacks, and some basic BnB combos.

BnB Combos:

Forward 1, 1, Fan-Nado, jump, 1, foward jump, 1, Fan Throw, (fall to ground) Fan Throw, dash foward, Throat Slice

A fairly easy 28% combo

Finding Truth, Fan Throw, dash forward, Rightful Heir, Throat Slice

Another simple 28% damage combo

Keep in mind, one of Katina’s brutalities is to end the match with a Throat Slice while holding forward. This can be achieved fairly easily once you get these combos down!

Tips

A common problem with Kitana players is they try to perform their BnB combos only. It is just as important to get damage in between each combo than getting the combo’s themselves. Be smart and do not keep trying to spam Fan-Nado in order to pull off your combo. You will get punished. Know who you are playing against. Kitana can be a good zoner if she needs to be! A combination of reflects, fan tosses, and air floats can seriously confuse opponents at a range. If you need to rush down, remember to use sprint when you can. Also remember to mix up your attack strings up close. Doing this will make your opponent think twice between blocking low or high. Putting all this together, Kitana can be a devastating opponent to face online. Good luck and have fun!
