Every month (starting now) we'll be compiling a list of the ten or so best games for the Android and iOS devices for the month. They may not be explicitly designed as gaming devices, but the games that get on them are no less fun to play as their PC and console counterparts, especially when you're on the go. Taking the train to work? There's no better way to pass the time than to spend it playing a game on your phone or tablet.

This colorful little game lets you play as a stupid little bird who dodges things. Unlike Angry Birds, there's plenty of stuff to collect along the way and traveling a long distance takes you to new areas.

Test Chamber is a quirky little puzzle game that looks a bit like a crossword puzzle from an isometric viewpoint.

You play a totem pole that has to dodge arrows as you run towards the side of your screen. It's a simple little game with a fun mechanic.

This card battler is like a simplified version of Hearthstone that has a surprsing amount of players. Check it out if you want to get your feet wet but aren't willing to delve into an in-depth title like Hearthstone just yet.

You're a circle on the bottom of your screen and you want to get to the top. That's how simple this game is, but it's addictive as hell.

This pixel-art style game sees you skiing down a mountain. It's simple, yet fun and you get to buy a host of different accessories, abilities, and perks to deck out your skiier with.

Anodia 2 is a modern take on the classic Breakout! style of game. What's cool about this one is how uniquely randomized each level is.
