The fourth installment to 2014’s Thief, developed by Edios, features the return of the Master Thief, Garrett, a relentless outcast from a shadowy order, more commonly known as The Keepers. We follow his journey as he steps out of the shadows and towards The City, where the Baron’s Watch terrorizes and spreads fear amongst the citizens whilst protecting the wealthy.
Assisting with his thieving schemes, Garrett equips himself with a selection of tools, weapons and gadgets. Follow on to discover all of these items in our guide to weapons in Thief 4...
Bow
The Thief 4 Bow is Garrett’s vital asset, as he proves to be both deadlier and craftier from a distance. The compact bow fires a variety of different arrows with distinct purposes. This reusable weapon never loses power, can be folded up for stealthier movement and cannot be dropped or lost, making this Garrets most reliable and effective weapon.
Not only can this weapon be used to battle against enemies outside of Garrett’s direct reach, it can also be used outside of combat scenarios. Using this compact bow, Garret is able to fire arrows towards objects in order to unhinge them or create noises to serve as distractions - A handy technique to master for luring guards away from your desired pathway.
Arrows
Garrett can equip his bow with a variety of different arrows serving a selection of different purposes. A water arrow can be fired to extinguish open fires, blunt arrows can be used to break visibly loose pulleys or activate out of reach buttons, choke arrows will result in enemies left gasping for air and blast arrows... you’ve got it, explode! Firing an arrow to the knee is enough to cripple an enemy and gain an advantage, but mastering those head-shots will result in Garett equipping himself with the most lethal weapon.
Blackjack
This club like weapon can be used to knock out enemies, it's a reusable weapon and so it never loses power and cannot be dropped or lost. The Blackjack is your ideal weapon for close range combat, sneak up behind your target and with a whack on the head with this Blackjack means it’s nap time for any enemy guard.
Claw
Rooftops and ledges are Garett’s natural habitat, allowing him to cross The City quickly and undetected. His trusty claw allows him to grapple onto certain points, reach higher ground and traverse the rooftops. This device also has a strong and sturdy grapple-line, not only holding up Garrett’s weight but also his newly acquired valuables swiped from the innocent citizens of The City.
