Dark Souls 2 Standard Shields



Archdrake Shield – This shield location is the Lost Bastille. From the Exile Holding Cells bonfire cross the rampart, descend the ladder and go through the doorway and head right. Break through the boarded-up door and use the Antiquated Key to unlock the next door. Blow up the barrels at the top of the ladder to reveal a corpse. Loot the corpse to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 14 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 110 Counter.

Black Dragon Shield – This shield location is the Dragon Shrine. It is dropped by Dragon Knights leading to the Ancient Dragon. The shield requirements are 15 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 110 Counter.

Black Flamestone Parma – Visit Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle. Spend 8000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 8 Strength and 10 Dexterity. It offers 65 Stability and 100 Counter. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 50 Stability.

Bell Keeper Shield – This shield location is Sinner’s Rise. It is dropped by Water Giants. The shield requirements are 7 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter. It’s good against magic but only blocks 60% of damage.

Blossom Kite Shield – This shield location is in Memory of Vammar. It’s inside a metal chest before the Giant Soul. Loot the chest to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 12 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 100 Counter. This shield restores stamina when equipped.

Blue Wooden Shield – This shield location is the Forest of Fallen Giants. The shield requirements are 6 Strength. It offers 35 Stability and 100 Counter.

Bone Shield – This shield location is in Aldia’s Keep. It is dropped by Aldian Acolytes. The shield requirements are 8 Strength and 8 Dexterity. It offers 50 Stability and 100 Counter.

Bound Wooden Shield – Visit Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle. Spend 8000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 11 Strength. It offers 40 Stability and 110 Counter.

Chaos Shield – This shield location is in Aldia’s Keep. It is dropped by the caged Enhanced Undead. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter.

Defender's Shield – Visit Weaponsmith Ornifex in Brightstone Cove Tseldora. Trade Throne Defender Soul + 3000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 15 Strength. It offers 60 Stability and 110 Counter. It is one of Dark Souls 2’s best shields.

Drakekeeper's Shield – This shield location is Dragon Shrine. It is dropped by Drakekeepers wielding swords and shields. The shield requirements are 17 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 110 Counter.

Drangleic Shield – This shield location is the Forest of Fallen Giants. After defeating the Pursuer jump down the hole in the walkway beyond the boss fight area. Loot the corpse to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 16 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 100 Counter. It is one of Dark Souls 2’s best shields.

Golden Wing Shield – This shield location is the Lost Bastille. From the Salt Fort bonfire go down the ladder and head left. Cross the bridge and head through the doorway. Take the stairs to the right. When you reach the cell go through the door at the left. The back wall is a false wall. Head through here and through the false wall on your left. Jump the gap, slip down to the ledge on the right. Follow the path to a corpse. Loot the corpse to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 12 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 100 Counter. This shield can parry spells.



Great Spirit Tree Shield – This shield location is the Iron Keep. Head past the ironclad knight in ironhearth hall. Go through the door on the left and use a Pharros’ Lockstone. Break through the wall and head to Belfry Sol bonfire. You will eventually reach a room with some stairs. Take the stairs and loot the chest behind a false wall to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter.

Hollow Soilder Shield – This shield location is in the Forest of Fallen Giants. It is dropped by Hollow Soldiers with shields. The shield requirements are 8 Strength. It offers 35 Stability and 110 Counter.

Homunculus Wooden Shield – Visit Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle. Spend 8000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 8 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 50 Stability.

King's Shield – Visit Weaponsmith Ornifex in Brightstone Cove Tseldora. Trade the Soul of the King + 10000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 16 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 110 Counter.

Large Leather Shield – This shield location is the Forest of Fallen Giants. In the room with the Crystal Lizard is a corpse. Loot the corpse to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 7 Strength. It offers 40 Stability and 110 Counter.

Lion Clan Shield – This shield location is the Shaded Wood. It is dropped by Lion Warriors. The shield requirements are 8 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter.

Mirrah Shield – This shield location is Earthen Peak. Ride the lift to the top to reach an area with poison jars. There is a chest behind them. Loot the chest to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 12 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 110 Counter.

Moon Butterfly Shield – Visit Maughlin the Armourer in Majula. Loot the chest up the ladder to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 6 Strength. It offers 35 Stability and 100 Counter.

Porcine Shield – This shield is located in the Iron Keep. In between the Smelter Demon boss fight arena and the next bonfire is a chest. Loot the chest to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 9 Strength. It offers 40 Stability and 110 Counter.

Old Knight's Shield – This shield location is in Heide’s Tower of Flame. It is dropped by Old Knights wielding swords and shields. The shield requirements are 24 Strength. It offers 60 Stability and 110 Counter.

Red Rust Shield – This shield location is the Shaded Wood. After destroying the body of the Head of Vengarl you are able to purchase this shield for 4000 Souls. The shield requirements are 17 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 110 Counter.

Royal Kite Shield – Visit Blacksmith Steady Hand McDuff in the Lost Bastille. Spend 2400 to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 12 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 100 Counter. It is one of Dark Souls 2’s best shields.

Shield of the Insolent – Visit Grave Warden Agdayne in the Undead Crypt. Spend 6400 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter. This shield restores stamina when equipped.

Silverblack Shield – This shield location is Earthen Peak. It is dropped by Grave wardens. The shield requirements are 16 Strength. It offers 45 Stability and 110 Counter.

Silver Eagle Kite Shield – Visit Maughlin the Armourer in Majula. Spend 1500 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 110 Counter.

Spirit Tree Shield – Visit Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle. Spend 10000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 110 Counter.

Stone Parma – This shield location is Darkroot Garden. It is dropped by Stone Knight Horseman. The shield requirements are 18 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 110 Counter.

Watchdragon Parma – This shield location is the Dragon Shrine. After defeating the Black Phantom it can be found in a chest next to a petrified egg. Loot the chest to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 10 Strength. It offers 50 Stability and 110 Counter.

Wooden Shield – Visit Laddersmith Gilligan in the Earthen Peak. Spend 1200 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 7 Strength. It offers 40 Stability and 110 Counter.

Yellow Quartz Shield – Visit Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle. Spend 8000 Souls to obtain this shield. The shield requirements are 12 Strength. It offers 55 Stability and 110 Counter.

TIP: The Shield Crossbow weapon allows you to fire while guarding, so if this fits your character build visit Straid of Olaphis. He will give it to you in exchange for 1500 souls + the Executioner’s Chariot Soul.
