Wolfenstein: The New Order Weapon Locations and Upgrades

The New Order is both a continuation and reboot of the Wolfenstein series as it takes place after all the previous installments of the game but in an alternative timeline. Don’t worry, once you've discovered all of the weapon upgrades and locations you’ll still get a chance to exercise your Nazi-cyborg destroying abilities but without all of the paranormal elements of the previous installments because they’ve been replaced with retro-futuristic technology. Sure you’ll start out small with just a knife and pistol but you will get your hands on various weapons as you progress throughout the game, which can be controlled using the in game weapon wheel system for fast weapon switches that do not pause the game's action. Whether you’re playing on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 or PC, read on to find a full Wolfenstein: the new order weapons list

Melee

Knife:
For those who like to get up close and personal with their victims, the knife can be a great way to perform both silent, stealthy kills or full on stabbing sprees in the midst of war. The knife becomes a throwing knife after a certain amount of melee kills. The ability to carry more throwing knives can be unlocked in a similar fashion after a set amount of throwing knife kills. Always remember that you need to compensate for the trajectory of the throwing knife when at a distance and that missing a knife throw may alert your enemies that are in close proximity.

Light guns

Handgun 1946:
This semi automatic handgun can be suppressed which makes it perfect for stealthy situations. The magazine holds 10 rounds and headshots with this weapon will kill an enemy with one shot!

Handgun 1960:
The 1960 handgun is an improved version of the 1946 handgun. This model boasts a three-round burst to compliment its semi automatic mode and even has a recoil compensation system. The magazine holds 20 rounds and can be used with a silencer but only in semi automatic mode.

Weapon Upgrade Location:
The Handgun 1960's silencer can be found in the Asylum by climbing on top of the furniture barricade in the hallway in one of the first areas. On top of the barricade is a staircase, which leads to a secret location that contains the silencer and some other goodies.

SMG:
This fully automatic sub machinegun has low recoil, full automatic fire rate and a 40 round magazine, which make it a formidable weapon in the right hands. This gun is an excellent choice for medium ranged combat at first but becomes much less useful once the German assault rifle becomes available.

Heavy guns

Assault rifle:
The assault rifle that you come across first in the game is slightly less accurate than the SMG but comes with a semi automatic mode as well as a full automatic mode.

Weapon Upgrade Location:
This rifle can be upgraded with a rocket launcher attachment at the start of chapter 12. If you climb the ladder and enter the broken train carriage nearby you will find the rocket launcher upgrade on the first floor.

AR marksman:

This weapon has two fire modes, Semi automatic (Sniper rifle) and full automatic (plasma mode). It can only be found after 1960 and has many drawbacks including the lack of an available suppressor as well as the fact that it’s power battery’s energy can be drained fairly fast.

Weapon Upgrade Location:

This rifle is upgraded automatically with the full automatic plasma mode once you get to the space base and grab one off of one of the enemies you kill. Although this is an upgrade it also removes the scope from the gun.

Double-barreled shotgun:
This shotgun is much more powerful than its automatic counterpart but can only hold two rounds before it needs to be reloaded. Luckily a single blast is usually more than enough to blow an enemy away entirely and it’s also pretty effective on drones.

Automatic Shotgun:
The automatic shotgun is very useful as it contains a full automatic mode, which is lethal to humans and dogs at close range. Unfortunately this is not usually the case with robots unless they are hit in their weak points.

Weapon Upgrade Location:

The shotgun is upgraded automatically at the start of chapter 11. The upgrade makes the shotgun shells bounce off of surfaces.

Machine Guns

Machine gun 1946:
The MG46 is a fully automatic weapon capable of clearing enemy lines in a matter of seconds with its 4-barrel spin and 250 round drum magazine. This weapon is usually located on a mount but it can be removed for mobile combat purposes.

Machine gun 1960:
The MG60 is essentially the same as the MG46 but with near limitless ammunition as it uses a rechargeable power battery as its power source. This gun is usually the primary source of the Nazi’s super soldiers and it can also be taken from a mount and used as a mobile weapon.

Explosives

Hand grenade:
Grenades are similar to knives in the fact that their capacity can be increased as the amount of grenade kills increases. In a similar fashion the ability to throw back grenades is also unlocked in due time. These grenades are frequently found throughout the game and are powerful enough to kill and injure enemies as well as destroy enemy gun turrets.

Tesla Grenade:
This grenade has an EMP charge, which is extremely effective against mechanical enemies. The grenades casing is also magnetic and will stick to nearby enemies as well as disabling them temporarily.

Laserkraftwerk Weapon's upgrade guide

The Laserkraftwerk is unlike any other weapon in your arsenal and its power is defined by the upgrade system. At first this is just a laser cutting torch which helps to cut though some fences but over time you will find enough weapon upgrade locations to make this your most important weapon.

Laser Cutter Upgrade:
This is found in chapter 4 inside the coal loading room on a catwalk during the prison escape. The upgrade changes the humble Laser cutter into the LaserKraftwerk weapon.

Full Automatic Upgrade:
This upgrade is found in the hanger during chapter 6 inside one of the bottom rooms on the map next to one of the commanders.

Reflection Upgrade:
This upgrade allows the beams from the laser to bounce off of a surface once although the reflected beams do less damage than direct hits. The upgrade can be found in chapter 7 once you are receiving the power saw and fall into the sewers. If you follow the path until you pass through the hole in the fence and then pass the small room with pickups, instead of heading left to the main objective, take a right and follow the sewer until you see the upgrade near a metal gate.

Strobe Upgrade:
The strobe upgrade is found in chapter 9 after you collect the welder and knock a ladder down using your laser. After climbing this ladder the upgrade is in a yellow box to the right. This gives the weapon the ability to produce a flash of light, which blinds enemies whilst firing.

Tesla Upgrade:
This upgrade gives the weapon a slight stun ability around mechanical targets close to its firing path. It can be found in chapter 10 after taking an elevator up to the train, the upgrade will be in a yellow box between two crates.

Portable Reactor or Generator Upgrade:
This generator recharges the Lkw's battery power slowly. It is found towards the end of chapter 11 once the achievement has been unlocked and you are in the treasure room. You will need to solve a puzzle in order to unlock the upgrade.

Targeting Scope Upgrade:
This scope allows the Lkw to track, target and fire at multiple enemies at once but using the scope also drains the battery power. This upgrade is also found in chapter 11 in a room that needs to be broken into by touching wires. Once inside the room you use the Lkw to cut a small panel and the upgrade is found inside.

LaserKraftWerk Weapons Cheats

A final upgrade with no official documentation can be found in chapter 14 by climbing a small ramp. The upgrade is in a yellow box in-between two machines. This upgrade increases the laserkraftwerk's battery ammo capacity by 25 bringing it to a grand total of 505.
