Hyrule Warriors playable Characters confirmed

Nintendo are gearing up to release the latest in a long line of The Legend of Zelda games, particularly after releasing a character reveal trailer on YouTube. The playable character roster of the new game, Hyrule Warriors, has thus been released. By who are these figures? Listing 10 characters as playable is a big change to the traditional Legend of Zelda framework, but most are returners that fans should feel rather at home with. Alongside the familiar however, players will be able to progress and unlock brand new playable characters in the course of the game, bringing something new to the renowned series. Hyrule Warriors, as named after the location where many previous Legend of Zelda adventures took place, will be available exclusively on the Wii U as of release date September 26th this year. It was about time our character wish lists were fulfilled! Well now we can share the announced character roster list for Hyrule Warriors with you, detailing exactly who we’ll be dealing and fighting with.

1. The Hero – Link
Not needing an introduction to the immense Legend of Zelda fanbase across the world, Link is the leading protagonist of Hyrule Warriors. In addition to his iconic green tunic and hat, Link will sport a blue scarf for his appearance in Hyrule Warriors.

2.
Hyrulean Captain – Impa
Having featured in many forms over the Zelda period, Impa is part of the Sheikah and cares for Princess Zelda. On this occurance however Impa will be coming forward to centre stage, wielding a mighty sword as captain of the Hyrule Guard.

3.
The White Sorceress – Lana
Hyrule Warriors will be Lana’s first appearance in the Zelda franchise, the white sorceress was created especially for the upcoming Wii U game. Her abilities are expansive with her spellbook in hand, but Lana primarily uses her mystical leaves to defeat the enemies she encounters.

4. Sheikah Warrior – Sheik
The mysterious warrior, who is less mysteriously known to be Zelda’s alter ego, returns to the Legend of Zelda series to fight beside the Hyrule Warriors. Sheik’s knives and speed will be yours to control in the course of the Hyrule Warriors game.

5.
Goron Chief – Darunia
The Gordon people were first encountered by Link in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, where they were a powerful yet friendly force. In Hyrule Warriors Darunia will be at Link’s side, battling through the game with apparent fiery and brutal attacks.

6. Zora Princess – Ruto
Feeling most at ease in water environment, it will comes as no surprise to any loyal The Legend of Zelda fan that Ruto’s attacks and fighting style feature the element. The Zora Princess was first encountered in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time but will be yours to maneuver throughout the upcoming Hyrule Warriors game.

7. Twilight Princess – Midna
First seen in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Midna sought to defeat Zant and return the Twilight Realm to a state of peace. This imp is expected to help Link along his path, just as she did previously with manipulation abilities that crush enemies.

8. Princess of Insects? – Agitha
Agitha unique skill set will include the power of insects as she features in the Hyrule Warriors game alongside the likes of Link and Darunia. After an appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Agitha is making a playable character entrance to the series with her butterflied and beetles. Watch out for the creepy crawlies.

9. The Goddess Sword – Fi
Fi is first seen in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword as the personified form of the Goddess Sword. She stays true to her identity in Hyrule Warriors as current gameplay footage reveals Fi’s transformation into the sword to attack, but she also harnesses some magic powers too.

10.
Princess of Hyrule – Zelda
It would be near impossible to have a game based on The Legend of Zelda without the titular character herself, Zelda. In Hyrule Warriors, as in many of the Zelda game installments, Zelda is the princess of Hyrule. But on this occasion Zelda will be equipped with her Light Arrows and blade to do what she can against the forces of evil.
