Empyrion: Galactic Survival is one of the new, popular survival games to land on Steam. The game is very complex and obviously some gamers may have a tough time finding out how to properly craft items, build bases and scavenge for supplies. Luckily there are some guides available for beginners.
YouTuber Aendams has a very thorough and useful guide for building a lot of the basic materials you’ll need to survive on the planet you crashed on in Empyrion. He lays out most of the basics in a 22 minute guide below.
You need to put all the resources and materials into the inventory menu of the constructor. You will need to ensure that your escape pod is powered up in order to use the constructor.
You’ll need 40 metal plates, 40 blocks and 8 fuel cells to make some basic survival gear.
You’ll also need an oxygen generator – you can put it in the water to generator oxygen. The generator requires a fuel cell to operate.
While the generator makes oxygen, you’ll need to build a base to start making food.
You need to use your drill to collect ore deposit. If you find an iron source you can use the drill to farm iron. You don’t automatically collect ore so you’ll need to pick it up manually as you grind down ore. If you find yourself drilling down into a ditch you can get out by using the jetpack. ‘Q’ is the default key for the jetpack.
Once you get back to the base you’ll need to melt the iron ore down into ingots using the constructor.
After getting enough ingots you can lay a foundation down for the base by pressing ‘Esc’ and clicking on the base icon. It’ll automatically put down a very basic foundation.
Up next you’ll need a generator. You’ll need very specific items to make a generator. You can view the image below so you’ll know what input items are required to construct or craft a small generator.
If you need a quick rundown of the items, you’ll need:
You can actually craft most of these items from within the constructor under the template for components.
Additionally you’ll need a fuel tank after making a generator. Aendams notes that it needs the [BA] signature, which means it’s compatible for working with a base.
Aendams has a second video below showing how the base works and how the components work with the base. Check it out below.
So basically once you put a generator down and power it up everything attached to the base platform will be powered up by the generator.
The second video covers the necessary steps to make a food processor, which you’ll need to survive on the harsh planet surface.
