If you want to get the Viper Venomous Steel Sword diagram in the Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone expansion, you will have to follow some steps to get to it. However, there will be spoilers in this guide, so if you want to continue reading, you’ve been warned.

Upon doing the beginning main quest in the Open Sesame in the Hearts of Stone expansion, you will have the opportunity to buy the diagrams for the armor. Later on, you will learn that the same mission at the end, you will also be able to get the diagram for the weapon too.

Once you reach the vault at the end of the quest, this is after you have sided with one of the Borsodi brothers and picked your final choice, you will be able to go in the second room of the vault and loot it. Once inside, make sure you open every chest to get as much treasure, because too much isn’t always a bad thing.

However, if you are speeding through or in a rush, make sure you get the chest to the right of the House of Maximilian, which will grant you the diagram of the Viper Venomous Steel Sword inside the chest. Something worth mentioning, you will need to be level 39, which is one level higher than the armor, to use the sword.

In addition to this, the sword has a 15% chance of causing poison damage and grants bonus damage in combat. Moreover, it also grants a higher chance of inflicting critical damage to enemies, and increases your Aard intensity. However, it doesn’t do well at piercing armor and usually results in it not piercing it at all, if that concerns you.

For those that want to craft this weapon and wield it, make sure you have two Leather scraps, two Dark steel ingots, one Monster brain and two Emerald Dust. Take these materials to the blacksmith to have them craft it and that’s it. If you follow these steps, you should be able to get the sword.
