Metal Gear Solid V Guide: How to Get Missions 45 and 46

SPOILERS AHEAD

If you’ve been playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, then you may have noticed that this game contains a lot of content. So much content that a large chunk of it may never be seen, except by the most vigilant of players. One of piece of content that is definitely not for the faint of heart is Mission 46.

For those who have already “beaten” Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the noticeable gap between Mission 44 and 47 must be eating away at you. It turns out that this isn’t a mistake, since there are in fact a Mission 45 and  46, they just takes a helluva lot of effort to unlock.

While difficult to obtain, Mission 45 is the much easier of the two. But before you can even consider unlocking it, there are a few requirements that absolutely need to be met. You must have recruited Quiet, max out your bond with her, spare her at the end of Mission 11, and have the scientist exiled from Mother Base. This will unlock Side Op 150 for play. Enter and complete Side Op 150, and Mission 45 will begin immediately at the end of that. Complete Mission 45, and you can now begin the process of unlocking mission 46.

Now Mission 46 will take a ton of work, but don’t lose sight of your goal. You must complete every single campaign mission in the game (1-45, 47-50). After that, you must complete every single Side Op that is denoted by a yellow mark. After all of that, you still aren’t out of the woods yet. Metal Gear Solid V: TPP refuses to relinquish this mission without players devoting all of their time.

After completing every mission in the game, you must grind and upgrade your Mother Base as much as possible. Continue to pour your hard earned GMP into your Mother Base until Mission 46 is finally unlocked.

We won’t spoil Mission 46 for you, but suffice it to say that completing this extremely challenging operation will answer a lot of questions for those who were left a bit confused at the end of Metal Gear Solid V: TPP. So get to work and find out what you’ve been missing.
