The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone has brought a ton of new content and explores a largely unknown territory from the base game. Therefore, it only makes sense that there is a ton of loot waiting for players to grab, if they’ve got a keen enough eye.
This secondary quest can be largely overlooked if you don’t spot the marker on your map, as it comes after a pretty hectic battle. Just after you’ve finished taking down the Ofieri Mage and the warriors that accompany him, you’ll come across a couple more Drowners near a wooden shack. Take down the Drowners from a nearby nest and head on inside.
Have a look around the cabin and grab a couple of broken rakes from the containers to your left if you feel compelled to do so. Face South inside the house and you’ll spot a ton of barrels on top of a cellar door. Use Aard to blast the barrels apart and gain access to the cellar below. Down there, Geralt finds a body that seems to have died of thirst. Near the body, you’ll find a key and some notes. Go ahead and give the note a read. Geralt learns about a treasure hidden in a locked chest on a ship. Head for the waypoint out at sea.
As you come across the area which the ship is located, you’ll find a tiny mound of land. As it comes up on your left hand side, make your way to shore. If you jump up onto here for a moment, you can grab yourself some extra loot, if you look closely enough. After the Runewright took all that coin off him, Geralt isn’t gonna be turning his nose up at free treasure.
Once you’ve grabbed the loot inside the algae covered chest pictured above, ensure you’ve got your crossbow equipped and head underwater within the outlined area. Two Drowners are guarding the treasure, but fear not, your crossbow will make surprisingly light work of the level 32 enemies.
Once they’ve been sorted out, dive down and open up that chest. Your spoils include, but are not limited to:
Not bad for a quick swim out to sea right? Be sure to stick with Twinfinite for all things Hearts of Stone.
