Drugs have always been a theme in the Fallout game series. They are mostly chemical nature. They have useful effects on the character and often help to improve the performance or endurance, or just have a healing effect. In Fallout 4, the selection has been increased so there are now 33 different types of drugs. All have a different effect and some Chems can be addictive. What Chems are there, what impact they have and how you can cure the addiction, we have summarized all the useful information in a guide below
Some of the Chems can be found right at the beginning of the game. They can be hidden anywhere. Search for the drug especially in coolers or in the remains of your enemies. You may be able to use to improve your skills for a certain time to heal or to simply sell.

You can craft your own drugs at a laboratory station. Some you can find easily others you get as part of a quest. Look around everywhere: In Vaults, settlements or with your companion Curie.
Cure Drug Addiction
Have you found favor from the effects of individual drugs, it may happen that you will depend on this. There are three different ways to cure drug addiction:
- Expand capacity in the skill tree (Perk "drug resistance")
- Dependence heal with drugs
- Healing by doctor
Once you have reached level 22, you can unlock the perk "drug resistance". For this one you need Stamina 4. This effect reduces the chance of becoming dependent on Chems by half.
Do you still want to invest your hard-earning skill points in other skills, then you can still heal your addiction. Use this drug, because there are special Chems that free you from the drug addiction. And finally you can see Dr. Ron in Diamond City and let him heal at your dependence. For this, you have to pay him 75 Caps.
