Act 1
Rules for Survival
Don’t get shot.
Use short, controlled bursts.
Watch your bullet drop. The further away an enemy is, the further the bullet drop will be.
Patch your wounds. If you do get shot, heal yourself so you don’t bleed out.
Keep a full magazine. Use tactical reloads for one extra bullet.
If in doubt, fall back.
Keep the enemy suppressed.
Command your squad. If you don’t give them orders, they will become useless.
Beware of confined spaces. Assume there is an enemy ready to kill you around every corner.
Welcome to Tajikistan
Before the mission actually starts, there will be an introductory video. I recommend watching this video, because it contains important background information about the game.
You start out on the Afghanistan/Tajikistan border. You’ll start outside in a base. Knox will be talking to you. He’ll start moving, follow him. He will lead you to a firing range to the south east. Once you get there, take your position in the firing range.
This part acts as a short tutorial. Aim down site with your rifle, and shoot the targets down range. Crouch to have better accuracy. Once Knox instructs you to do so, switch to your sidearm and shoot the targets. Once you’re done, turn around and head to the ammo crate near the first gate. Follow Knox and form up with your squad.
You get thrown into the action almost immediately after that. Mortars start exploding around you, and Knox orders you to get to the Humvee. Follow Knox to the vehicle. If you get lost, it’s the second to last Humvee. Board the vehicle, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Listen to Knox. Usually, what he has to say is very useful and important.
Eventually, you will reach a small village. Exit the Humvee and head directly up the road towards the objective. Remember to command your squad. At this part, command them to follow you. Cut through the village left of the very tall building. Keep going north until you start getting shot at by enemies. Take cover, and kill them one at a time. Remember, this is NOT and run-and-gun game. Keep cutting north and north east through the village until all the enemies are neutralized. Remember, if you get lost, follow the red flag icon on your screen.
After all the enemies are dead, Knox will instruct you to form up on him. Head North out of the village until you reach a road. Wait there until Knox and everyone else gets there. Once everyone is there, board the Humvee again. If your squad won’t get in, command them to board the vehicle or follow you using the command options. After everyone’s in the Humvee, enjoy another ride.
Keep an eye on the vehicles ahead of you. After a short trip down the road, one of them gets hit with an IED. Immediately get out of your vehicle. Very soon after, enemies will start attacking from both sides. Your objective is on the left side. Move west and set up a defensive perimeter. I recommend finding a building with good cover, and commanding your team to defend the building. The best building is the L shaped building to the west. Take cover on the roof of it, and wait until Knox gives you the order to move out. Get back to your Humvee. Board the vehicle, and enjoy yet another ride.
You will reach a large village. Exit your vehicle and head north east. Use the buildings as cover, and suppress the enemies across the village. Make good use of your commands. I suggest commanding your squad to use suppressing fire on the enemies. If you run out of ammo, there will be an ammo crate in front of the first building to the right of the road. Move west until you see a large building with Marines in front of it. Use the stairs to get to the roof. If you get lost, just follow the red flag icon on your screen. Keep using suppressing fire on the enemy.
After you’ve neutralized a decent number of enemies, head back to the main road. More north to the other side of the building. Instead of heading directly across the bridge, use the small bridge to the right. Suppress enemies as you move across the village. Move north west through the village. Beware of confined spaces, there will be enemies everywhere. Check your corners, and be aware. If you do get shot, dress your wounds so don’t bleed out.
Once all the enemies in the village are suppressed, head back to the main road. Knox orders the vehicles to head up the road. Keep suppressing enemies that try to move up the road and wait for the Humvee. Once the area is completely secure, board the Humvee.
Congratulations, you survived your first mission. Welcome to Tajikistan, Marine.

Meet the Neighbors
When the mission starts you’re in a Humvee. Knox explains the plans for the mission so make sure you’re listening. The vehicle will come to a stop. Exit the vehicle and head east towards the white truck. Make your way around the outside of the village, and make your way to the house marked by the red arrow. Take position on top of the house and watch the other side of the village towards the north east.
After a moment, enemies will show up where you’re watching. I suggest commanding your team to defend the house you’re standing on. Take cover, and don’t get shot. Charlie and Alpha squads will search the town. Wait until they give the all clear then head back to the main road. Move up the road and take the first left heading north west.
Almost instantly you will be shot at by enemies. Take cover and push forward up the road. Suppress any enemies in the group of buildings where they are shooting from. Once that area is all clear, continue to push forward up the road, taking cover along the way. Further up the road it will come to a curve. At the first building by this curve there is an ammo crate, be sure to resupply. Head north on the road. There will be enemy contact but nothing too intense, just make sure you continue to take cover.
Follow that road until you come to another curve. Find a good spot with cover where you can watch the convoy. They’ll get attacked, and will ask for assistance. Run down the hill to the convoy to help them. If you can’t find them, they’re marked by a red arrow on your screen. The enemies will be located in a small courtyard. Just like any other firefight, take cover and suppress all of the enemies. Once they’re all neutralized, head back to the main road where the vehicles are. Stay with the EOD team.
Follow the EOD team up the road to the north west. Continue until you come to another small village. To the left in the village there will be a blue car with an IED attached to it. Stay away from the car so it doesn’t explode. Protect the EOD team. The enemies will come from the west. Take cover and be prepared to suppress more enemies.
The EOD team will say they need to do a controlled detonation, and they need some time. After this is when the enemies attack from the west. Make sure you’re still in cover and command your team to suppress the enemies. You will be fighting them at a distance, so remember to account for bullet drop. Also remember to listen to your squad, they will call out enemy positions so you can kill them.
After some fighting, you’ll hear a voice say “They’re in the village, I think they’re trying to set off the IED!”. At this point, turn around and go back into the village. There should now be enemies shooting from north and west. Continue to defend the EOD team. After most of the enemies are suppressed, they will start to fall back. Rally up with Knox east of the village. There should be a red flag on your screen telling you where to go. Wait there until the EOD team sets off the IED. If you want to see an explosion, turn around and look at the village.
Push east to the next village. Follow the main road east towards the village. The first building you pass has enemies in it. Be sure to suppress the enemies before continue down the road. Charlie will ask for assistance. Now you have to use fire support for the first time.
Use the on-screen instructions on how to request fire support. Before you request the support, make sure you’re at a good location where you can see the farmhouses you have to destroy. Down the road there should be a building with a car and clothes hanging in the yard. The roof of this building is a perfect spot to call in your fire support. DO NOT MISS. You only get one chance to hit the target. Place your artillery on the farmhouse where Charlie is pinned.
The first artillery strike was not good enough, now you have to request close air support. Call in the close air support at the same place you called in your first artillery strike. A plane will come in and destroy the farmhouse. You’re done with fire support for now.
Head south east down the road. Stay cautious, there will be a truck with a mounted machine gun and multiple enemies on board. Keep moving south east and wait for Knox to tell you to shoot the truck. Suppress all the enemies on board, and move east up the road where the truck came from. Keep following the road. Go north east towards the red arrows on your screen until you reach another village. Beware of confined spaces once you reach the village.
Fight through the village, and move north. Take your time, and take cover. Command your squad to suppress the enemies. They will start to retreat from the village. Once they do, move east towards the school. Neutralize all the enemies in the school building at the east of the village. Command your team to secure the building. There will be heavy fire coming from the building, so be careful.
Once the building is secure, Knox will tell you to go to the extraction point. Head south west until you meet up with Knox, there should be a Humvee near him. Get into the Humvee.
Enjoy the ride, and the end of the mission
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Protection Detail’ for completing the mission ‘Meet the Neighbors’.
The Human Terrain
When the mission starts you’ll be in a helicopter. Knox will explain the mission. Just wait for the helicopter to land.
When it lands you’ll see red smoke to the north east. Go in that direction and move up the road to the front of the convoy. Ahead of the convoy is a small village. Take cover in the buildings to the left, you will be attacked.
Check all of the buildings and suppress all of the enemies in the village. Command your squad to secure buildings and suppress enemies, it will help greatly. Keep moving east through the village, taking cover as you push forward.
Once you hear an all clear on the radio, move to the end of the village where the fruit stands are, and wait for the convoy to pass. Once Knox tells you to board the Humvee, move to the front of the convoy and board your vehicle.
You will reach a set of buildings with a courtyard to the left. The convoy will stop. Get out of your Humvee. Use the buildings as cover and order your squad to suppress the enemies. Once you reach a destroyed truck, turn right to another courtyard with a yellow car in front of it. There are more enemies in this area. Keep moving east, while killing any threats. Beware of confined spaces.
Push to the end of the village. Start moving north until you reach a series of courtyards. There is a lot of open space here, so try not to get shot. Move east through the courtyards until you reach a tractor. Then make the first right you can, and move south.
Push south into another village. Try not to push too far into the village, it is not necessary. Once everyone is suppressed, there will be an all clear on the radio. Move south east towards the red arrow on your screen, and wait for the convoy. Board your Humvee when Knox instructs you to do so, and enjoy not being shot at for a few moments.
The vehicles will come to a stop once the dam is in sight. Get out of the Humvee and move up the road toward the dam. If you don’t see the dam, just follow the red arrow on your screen. Turn left at the fork in the road. Stop, and take cover.
Enemy trucks will move down the road toward you after a few moments. You either need to destroy the trucks or snipe the driver. Either way, you need to eliminate the hostiles. I recommend putting a mine on the road to explode the trucks. The trucks will come from the east.
Knox will give the all clear when the trucks are taken out. Move back to the main road and follow the convoy south east toward the dam.
After some traveling down the road, you’ll see a small village. You can either flank the enemies, or push straight through the village. I recommend flanking the enemies. Make a choice, and suppress all of the enemies in the village. Move to the north side of the village and exit through the main gate.
Wait for the convoy, and follow them down the road towards the dam. No Humvee ride, you’ll have to walk. There will be enemy contact further up the road. Use your squad to suppress the enemies. Once it’s mostly secure, the convoy will start moving down the road again.
Move up the road to the east. You will reach another small village. Once again, you’ll have to suppress all of the enemies. Take cover using the buildings on the left side of the village. Beware of confined spaces here. Keep pushing east through the village until you hear a voice on the radio saying that the compound is clear.
Keep moving towards the dam, but cut through the trees to the north east. There will be RPG guys in the trees, so make sure you take them out. Push north east up the hills until you come to a small building. This is the first of a series of buildings, use them for cover so you don’t get jumped by hostiles.
The are you will be moving through has a lot of open areas, and there are enemy snipers. Keep your head down and use cover as you move east. Remember to use your squad commands to have your squad secure buildings. When you reach the last set of buildings, Knox will tell you to hold the line.
You will need to defend the area, so I suggest commanding your squad to defend a building. Take cover, don’t get shot, and suppress all enemies. The enemies will come from all directions, so be aware. You will have combat support available, so be sure to put it to good use. I recommend using artillery to take out groups of hostiles and RPG teams. Defending the convoy is your main priority, so do not let the enemies get to it.
Once Knox tells you to, head west towards the main road. Go into the building marked by a red arrow, and order your squad to defend the building. Most of the enemies will come from the north and north east. When Knox tells you to move forward again, move west to the road and follow it up the hill to the convoy.
At this point, the convoy is almost at the dam. Stay with the convoy and defend it from any hostiles that try to approach it. You will have combat support available, so use it if you need to. The convoy will get attacked from the north and north east, so keep defending. Remember, if the trucks get destroyed the mission is failed.
You will hear on the radio that all the enemies are dead. Knox will order you to mount up, so board your vehicle in the convoy. Ride the Humvee all the way to the dam.
Congratulations, the convoy made it to the dam successfully. Hopefully, you didn’t lose any trucks on the way.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Venomous Bite’ for completing the mission ‘The Human Terrain’.
Almost Too Easy
Once again, you start out in a helicopter. Your objective is to go straight into the enemies base of operation, and clear it out. Knox explains this in the helicopter. Wait for the helicopter to land, and exit.
Turn to the north and move to the red arrow, which is located on the road that cuts into the mountains on the north. There will be enemy contact immediately. Suppress them, and move up the road that cuts through the mountain.
There will be enemy contact all throughout this road. Around the curve, you will pass a small house, then another larger house. Check them both for enemies, they hide in buildings along the road. Keep moving up the road until you reach a more open area. Check the building on the west side for enemies.
Keep moving through the mountains, following the road. There will be a white van. use it as cover, there are enemies ahead of it, and in the courtyard to the right. Clear them all out and move forward.
Move even further up the road. Not far from where you just had a firefight, there will be more enemies. Use the small wall on the right side of the road as cover if you need to. Check all of the buildings ahead of you for enemies. Clear all of the buildings. Remember to use your squad commands to have your squad secure buildings.
After Knox talks on the radio, move north east down the road. A plane will fly over you. When it does, turn north and follow the road down the mountain. There will be enemies around the curve, so suppress them. Follow that road until you have a clear view on the target to the north east. There will be some broken barriers on the left side of the road, this is a good spot.
Look at the target to the north east, and use combat support. Call in the combat support on the target and wait for the bombs to drop.
Continue down that road, suppressing all enemies along the way. There will be an enemy hiding behind the small building around the first curve in the road, suppress him and keep moving. The road will stop curving and move straight to the north east. There are enemies here, so move up and suppress them.
Move down that same road. There will be a building on the left side. Secure that building. There will also be a small building to the north east, make sure no enemies are hiding there. Once you are sure there are no enemies, move up. There will be a group of buildings behind the first building to the left. Clear them all out.
Follow the road you were originally on. It should turn north, then continue north east. There are multiple buildings alongside this road. Command your team to secure any buildings that you pass. You will come to a large building next a destroyed truck. Secure that building. There are multiple enemies in this area, so be careful as you move up.
Once everything here is clear, the fire team objective will be completed. Knox will get on the radio, and confirm that everyone is cleared out. There will be more combat support for you, so use it to destroy the three targets to the north west. DO NOT MISS. You have limited resources, so destroy as many targets as possible with what you have.
After you’re done destroying the targets, move back to the road and move west. Continue down the road. There are a few curves, and you will come across a few enemies. Once you reach a group of small buildings around a curve, take cover and suppress all enemies. Keep moving down the road.
There are multiple enemies on this road, so stay aware. Once you reach a small building at the end of a curve, with barriers in front of it, get off of the road and move north east towards the river.
There are enemies across the river, so do not stay out in the open. You will see a bridge that goes across the river. Move across it. If you don’t clear out most of the enemies first, you’re going to be an open target for enemy riflemen. Suppress most of the enemies on the other side of the river first, then move across the bridge.
Once you are across the bridge, take cover. Start clearing buildings and suppressing enemies. I suggest starting with the small courtyard on the right side of the road. There will be a few enemies hiding in the small building.
Move to the left side of the road and clear all of the buildings here. Beware of confined spaces. Also, remember to use your squad to clear buildings, instead of just rushing in yourself.
After everyone is dead, your fire team objective will be complete and Knox will get on the radio. Go back over the bridge to the right, and move north down the road. Listen to Charlie and Alpha argue while you are moving down the road.
Knox will talk on the radio, telling you what you have to do next. Do not cross the first bridge you see. Instead, head towards Alpha team. Help them suppress their enemies, which are located to the north.
After you are done assisting, move west down the road. This part will be a heavy firefight, so be prepared. You will reach another bridge. There will be an enemy shooting RPGs at you. Suppress him, or it will be extremely difficult to move across the bridge.
Move across the bridge, and move into the building directly across from it. Exit through the gate to the north east, and continue north until you reach a fork in the road. Once everyone is suppressed, Knox will inform you to go to the next objective. Go east, and move down the hill to the road next to the river.
Move north east down that road. You will find out that there is no air support, so you will be assaulting on foot. Stay on that road, heading towards the first bridge that you passed. At any point, if you get lost, follow the red flag on your screen. Follow the road until you reach that bridge.
Cross the bridge to where Alpha team is. Suppress any enemies in the area. Go east down the road. Alpha and Charlie team will be with you. Make a left at the fork in the road. Now Alpha and Charlie team will not be with you. Suppress all enemies in the buildings to your right.
Keep moving, clearing out all the buildings. There will be heavy fire, so stay in cover. Once the first set of buildings is clear, move to the next set. Beware of confined spaces here, enemies will try to rush you if you get too close. Try to take them out from a distance.
After the second set of buildings is clear, move until you see a large building. Clear it out then move on the road going south east. You will come to a courtyard with a destroyed truck in front of it. Suppress all enemies near this area, and Knox will call for extraction.
More south east up the road, then move down the road to the south. Move towards Alpha and Charlie team, and meet up with them. You will find out there will be no air support. You will come to a large village occupied by enemy soldiers. There is heavy fire here, so take cover outside the gate, and suppress the soldiers inside.
Be patient, and do not rush. This part make take a few minutes to clear everyone out. When a good amount of the enemies are dead, move in and clean up the rest. Once you reach a checkpoint, head back down the mountain and move west. Follow the road west all the way to the bridge you crossed before.
Further down the road from the bridge, there will be a Humvee waiting for you. The Humvee will drive you out of the area.
Good job. You got the job done, despite your air support being withdrawn.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Doing It The Hard Way’ for completing the mission ‘Almost Too Easy’.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 50G achievement called ‘Operation Enduring Shield’ for completing Act 1 of the campaign.
Act 2
The Wrong Way
For this mission, I suggest using a scoped assault rifle or a sniper. You will need to kill enemies from a distance. Scoped weapons make it easier. They help significantly in this mission.
Once again, you’re in a helicopter. Knox informs you that the Chinese have entered the fight. You will have no air support during this mission, because communications and satellites are down. After Knox is done talking, the helicopter will land. Exit the chopper.
When you exit the helicopter, turn right and cross the ditch. Head in that direction towards the red arrow. You should pass a burning tank on the way. Keep moving towards the arrow. Follow the road through the battle zone.
The red arrow is inside a small courtyard with a well in the middle of it. Knox will inform you that they met up with gunslinger. Order your squad to defend the building. Hold your position, the PLA will attack you. Suppress everyone as fast as possible. Most of them will come in from the east.
While you’re holding your position, there will be vehicles that attack you too instead of just infantry. Knox will order you to prioritize the AT gunners. They are destroying your tanks. Shoot anybody that has anti-tank weapons. Basically, kill any enemies with a rocket launcher first. You need to keep most of your tanks.
When Knox tells you to fall back, turn around and head back the way you came from originally. While you are falling back, you may want to throw smoke so they can’t see you. They have snipers, so if you don’t pop smoke you may get shot while running away. Move back to the second compound.
Hold your position again. You need to kill the enemies as fast as possible. Do not let the PLA get too close, or you could get overrun. The only objective you have right now is to hold them off. They will keep attacking from the east, but if they get too close they could come up behind you.
They will start dropping mortars, and Knox will order you to fall back again. Turn around and move to the third compound. Remember to throw smoke for cover. When you reach the third compound, order your squad to hold the building in the center. Take cover and start suppressing the enemies again.
Go up the stairs of that building, and take cover behind the sand bags. The PLA will start to get even closer, and will have heavier support. After a few moments of fighting, you will be ordered to fall back once again. Pop some smoke, and fall back to the fourth compound behind you.
The radio will inform you that support will be there soon. So try to stay calm, and keep suppressing the PLA as fast as possible. Command your team to hold the third building. This is your last defensive line. There is not a lot of cover here. Move to the top of any of the buildings, and take cover behind anything possible.
Once again, try not to let them get too close. They will get to close eventually, and Knox will order you to fall back again. You do not have any more defensive lines. Turn around, throw a smoke grenade for cover, and move towards the red arrow on your screen.
You will come to house with a large yard. You have to defend once again. Move to the top of the house and order your team to defend the building. There is ammo, and grenades at the base of the building. Resupply, and start defending.
Look towards the east, down the road. Enemies will continue coming from this direction. After defending for a few moments, someone will come on the radio saying they are sending air support because the air space is now clear. Knox will order you to fall back, so turn around and follow the other teams.
Knox will inform you to call in air support. You will have mortars available. Shoot them at the enemy to suppress them. You will hear a chopper crash on the radio. Turn around and head down the road towards the red arrow.
You will reach a small village, you are getting close to the extraction point now. Move done the road. The plan is to defend the landing zone until the chopper arrives. Move to the top of a building, and command your squad to defend the building.
After some time, the PLA will attack. A plane will fly directly over you. The Chinese will start to move into the town. They will come from the east once again, so look down the road to the east. Suppress any enemies that you see, and do not let them get too close to the landing zone.
After a few moments Knox will order the chopper to pick you up. Good news, right? Wrong. Your chopper gets destroyed by the PLA before it even reaches you. The anti-air is too hot for chopper extraction, so you have to use a Humvee. They are nearly destroyed, so you have to hold off the PLA while they try to fix the vehicle.
Pick a building, and continue defending. Try not to let the PLA get too close to the Humvee. The Chinese will start attacking from the south east as well as the east. Soon, Knox will have a Humvee fixed. Now keep defending while the other vehicles are being repaired.
Knox will find anti-tank weapons. This foreshadows that there will be some tanks. Take the anti-tank weapon and move to the top of a building. Destroy any tanks and APCs that come anywhere near the vehicles.
Tanks and APCs will move up the main road, so destroy them. Also keep an eye on enemy vehicles in the distance. Soon, Knox will say that the vehicles are operational. Alpha and Charlie team will board and leave first. Then, Knox will move to the Humvee. He will order you to board the vehicle.
Board the Humvee, and drive down the road out of the area towards Alpha and Charlie team. Follow that same road. After you reach a curve in the road, you’ll reach a small base. Turn right into it, and exit the vehicle. Gather near everyone else.
Once everyone arrives, listen to Knox’s small speech. PLA will start to attack the base, so you need to provide cover. Move to the east side of the base, near an ammo crate under the net. Head up to the tower and look towards the enemy. You’ll need to suppress enemies and vehicles.
Stay calm, and stay in cover. There will be heavy enemy fire, and explosions going off around you. Destroy any vehicles you see moving towards the base. If you run out of ammo, move back to where you got the anti-tank weapon and get some more ammo. Replenish your ammo quickly, the enemies won’t wait while you are reloading.
The enemies will start to fall back, but there will be a PLA attack helicopter that will move in. Go back to where the ammo is and pick up an anti-air weapon. Move to the top of a building, and aim at the enemy chopper. After you lock on, shoot the anti-air launcher and destroy the chopper.
Move back to a position where you can suppress enemies. Continue to destroy tanks if they get too close. They will keep attacking from the east. There is a building on the left side of the town behind the ammo supply which has a turret on the roof. Use it if you need to.
An enemy plane will drop an airstrike on the base, so make sure you are in cover. After the air strike, Knox will command all teams to fall back. Follow Knox, and join the defense. Stay with everyone while you are defending. Use the building in front of the helicopter landing zone for cover. There is a sniper you can pick up in that building for long range defense.
The Chinese will move into the base, and they will try to push forward into the primary landing zone. Suppress them. Once the fire team objective is completed, move to the helicopter that landed in the landing zone. Board the chopper, and exit the area.
You find out that you’re the only ones that made it out of that fight. You survived your first PLA battle. Get ready for your next encounter with the PLA, it will be soon.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Work Your Bolt’ for completing the mission ‘The Wrong Way’.
Be Careful What you Wish For
This mission is a stealth mission. If possible, use a weapon with a thermal scope and a silencer. The silencer will keep you from drawing too much attention, and the thermal scope will help you see enemies in the dark. Also, at the beginning of the mission there are anti-tank weapons lying around near the ammo supply. You will need one later, so grab one.
You will start out in a Humvee, at night. This is your first night mission. Turn on your night vision so you can see in the dark. You will be fighting the PLA again. Exit the vehicle and grab a weapon and some ammo near the trucks. Follow Alpha and Charlie team towards the objective.
Look towards the east, there will be enemies. Suppress them as fast as possible. This is a stealth mission, so you don’t want to draw a lot of attention. Once they are all suppressed, move with Alpha and Charlie team forward.
Regroup with everyone on the road located in the middle of the field. There will be some enemies walking to the north east, and some enemies on patrol. Suppress them quickly.
Follow everyone down the road, and move towards the objective. If you come across any enemies on the way, quickly kill them. There will be some enemies walking to the north, so kill them. Keep moving towards the objective. To the north east, there will be a machine gun nest with some enemies in it. Eliminate it, quickly and quietly.
You may want to start moving fast, you have a limited time before your airstrike assets will not be available. Keep moving towards the objective. Move to the top of a building, and look towards the secondary objective. Call in a JDAM CAS mission on the objective. Now, the PLA response units will be on their way. Keep an eye on for contacts, they know you are here now.
Move towards the red arrow on your screen, and regroup with everyone else. You have now broken through the first PLA defensive line. You will need to cover Alpha team now, so follow them. If you come across any APCs, avoid them.
Look for any enemies, machine gun nests, and vehicles. As said before, avoid any APCs. Eliminate any enemies, quietly. They know you are here, but they don’t know where you are. You can still be stealthy. Keep following Alpha team to provide them with cover. You will get a fire team objective complete, and you will come across an orchard.
Move through the orchard, and secure it. There are not many enemies, so once they are all suppressed you will get another fire team objective complete. Go back to covering Alpha team. Move forward, and suppress any enemies near Alpha team. There will be a few enemies to the north west and east.
You will get another fire team objective complete. Now, you’ll have to secure another area. Move towards the objective, but stay at a distance. I recommend securing the area from a distance with a scoped weapon. Once most of the enemies are suppressed, move forward to clear out the rest. Command your team to secure the building to take care of any enemies that are still in there. Once everyone is gone, the fire team objective will be complete.
You will need to go back to securing Alpha team. Behind the building you secure, there will be more enemies. Suppress them quickly. Once Alpha calls the all clear, you will need to secure another orchard. Once again, I suggest using a scoped weapon to do it from a distance. If you do use a scoped weapon, remember to account for weapon drop. A good place to snipe from is the top of the building you previously secured. Move into the orchard to finish off any enemies that are still alive.
Once the orchard is clear, keep moving forward. You will need to clear another compound. Move north and take out any enemies you see. Move towards the buildings and continue covering Alpha team. After the compound is clear, Alpha will call the all clear. Move North towards the next objective.
You will need to secure another compound. Regroup with Alpha team and hold the position after all the enemies are suppressed. Move to the top of the building, it is a good place to shoot from. There will be enemies at a distance to the north and east. Use a scoped weapon to kill them. You will get a checkpoint complete. Move to the ground and listen to Knox.
Your new job will be to move up the east side. Knox will suggest two ambush locations. Follow the arrow on the screen to ambush location 1. If you scope in towards the objective, you will see enemies. Pick them off with your rifle or sniper, and move in. Alpha team will get compromised, and you will begin another fire fight.
Suppress all the enemies and keep moving forward to ambush location 1. You will hear orders on the radio to destroy a supply truck. Alpha team will destroy the lead vehicle. You can destroy the vehicles with mines, a grenade launcher, or an anti-tank weapon. Do it before the enemy helicopter arrives.
Once you complete the objective, a voice on the radio will say that the mission is accomplished. Now it’s time to fall back to the extraction point. There will be an enemy attack helicopter. Turn around, and head to the extraction point. Use buildings and cover to avoid the enemy chopper.
Keep moving up the road towards the extraction point. The enemy attack chopper will continue to come back around, so keep taking cover. You should get a checkpoint after the second time it passes. Each time you are clear, Knox will get on the radio telling you that you’re clear to move. Be fast, it will come around again. Keep moving towards the extraction point repeating this process.
While going to the extraction point, be aware of enemies. They still attack you in between helicopter run bys. Evading the chopper should be your main priority though. After evading a few times, you will get another checkpoint and a fire team objective complete. Start moving towards where you need to regroup. There will be enemies ahead of you, but the chopper is gone for now.
Move up the road that goes up the hill. On that hill, you will regroup with everyone else. There will be ammo next to the building if you need it. Knox radios in for extraction. You will need to hold your position, so command your team to defend. There will be enemies and vehicles attacking you. You will have artillery available, so use it wisely. I recommend using it on groups of enemies or vehicles, kill as many enemies as possible in a single artillery strike.
After a few moments, Alpha team will fall back. They are the first to fall back. After a few more moments, Charlie will fall back. You will need to hold them off for a few more moments. Knox will order you to fall back, so turn directly around and head up the hill towards the red arrow. You will come to a small ruined town. Order your team to defend the position. You will have no more air assets.
There will be multiple enemies that will attack from the north and east. You will get a fire team objective completed. You find out you’re fighting Chinese special forces, who are extremely deadly. Fall back to the new objective. Follow the red arrow, and kill the enemies ahead of you. Go to the small building and command your team to start defending again.
Continue defending that building. If you see a helicopter, they are dropping off more enemies. Watch the helicopter, and kill the enemies as they get out of the chopper. Wait until the fire team objective is complete, you will need to continue to the extraction point.
You will now need to provide cover for Charlie team as they move. Remember to avoid open areas, try to stay in cover. Once Charlie team is in position, Alpha team and you will have to move to the extraction vehicle. Charlie team will provide cover fire. Turn around and head towards the extraction vehicle.
Follow the red arrow on your screen to the Humvee, and mount the vehicle. After everyone is on a Humvee, they will start to drive away.
You survived your second encounter with the Chinese. You destroyed enemy supplies, so they cannot be used against you. Then, you’ll realize you don’t actually know what Rule #3 is. Keep wondering, and continue to the next mission.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Devils At The Crossroad’ for completing the mission ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’.
Line in the Sand
Your main objective in this mission will be to stop the PLA from crossing a bridge to continue into Tajikistan. You start out on a Humvee, just wait for it to stop and exit the vehicle.
Move to the Humvee to the left, and get in. Follow Alpha and Charlie team down the road. You will have to drive the Humvee. Follow them down the road until Alpha and Charlie split at a compound. Move into the compound.
Search each building in the compound for enemies. There will be enemies, so be careful and beware of confined spaces. After the compound is secure, get back in your Humvee and continue down the road to the next location.
Continue down the road until Alpha and Charlie stop again. Get out of your vehicle and look to the north west. There will be a group of enemies. Engage them. Suppress all of the enemies. Stay back near the Humvee until it is mostly clear. Once all the enemies are dead, get back in your Humvee and follow Alpha and Charlie team again.
Move down the road until you reach a small village near the bridge. There will be enemy contact. If you need it, there is a mounted machine gun near the building on the left and right side of the road. Suppress all enemies trying to move towards the bridge. Soon, Alpha team and Charlie team will arrive.
Continue to defend the town. You will hear that two PLA choppers are inbound. Provide cover for the town. A helicopter will fly over the town, and an APC will move up the road. After Knox tells you to, fall back to the village. Get in a Humvee, and drive to the next location.
Before you enter the small town, turn left and help the other marines defend the road. There will be another mounted machine gun you can use for defense. Once your fire team objective is complete, there will be explosions going off where the PLA were attacking from. Fall back towards the town.
Take cover in one of the buildings. On the left of the main road, you will see a blue car. Next to that there is an ammo crate with a sniper next to it. Resupply, grab a sniper, and move to the roof of the building that it is at the base of. Continue defending the town from the PLA forces.
You will hear your support helicopter crash on the radio. You will need to offer support. Get off of the building, and get in a Humvee. Move south east towards the red arrow on your screen that should say ‘Destroy’.
Continue south east towards the objective. Avoid any APCs that you see. You will get attacked further up the road, so turn around and head across the land bridge that goes across the river. You will pass a bunch of destroyed trucks. Stop there, and suppress all the enemies in the area.
Once the area is clear, get back in the Humvee and continue towards the objective. After everything is clear, move out of the area. Drive your Humvee back down the road to where everyone else is. A chopper should land. Exit your Humvee, and get in the extraction helicopter.
Listen to Knox talk about what a good job you just did, so congratulations. The war isn’t over, so continue to the next mission.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘The Alamo, Vahdat’ for completing the mission ‘Line in the Sand’.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 50G achievement called ‘Operation Unbroken Resistance’ for completing Act 3 of the campaign.
Act 3
1st and 10
You’re on a helicopter, again. Listen to what Knox is saying, so you can get an idea of what your main objective is. When the helicopter lands, exit and board the Humvee in front of the helicopter (not the one on the road). Ride in the Humvee until you get shot at. Exit the vehicle, and clear the PLA forces at the base of the tower.
The tower is hard to miss, head towards it and clear it out. Move towards the tower with your team, and make sure you take cover along the way. Suppress any enemies in or around the tower. When you reach the tower, they should start to fall back. When Knox tells you that everything is clear, turn back and head towards the Humvee. Meet it on the main road, and mount up.
Further up the road, you will start to get shot at while you are in the Humvee. They will pull off to the left of the road. Alpha team will give you suppressing fire. Move forward into the town, taking cover on the small broken walls along the way. Suppress all the enemies in the town. When you get to the center of it, the PLA will start to retreat. If you need more ammo, there is ammo in the middle of the compound. When Knox gives the all clear, turn around and move towards the Humvee.
Get on the vehicle, and ride down the road. After you reach another compound, the vehicle will stop. Exit the Humvee and move to the cover on the left side of the road. There will be heavy fire coming from the compound. Take cover using the broken walls and vehicles scattered around the field on the left of the road.
Not long into the fight, Knox will call in an airstrike on the PLA soldiers. An airstrike will hit the compound, but all the PLA are not dead. Now, you will have combat support available. Call in an artillery strike on the compound.
Most of the PLA should be dead now, so move into the compound. Continue to stay in cover, and suppress everyone you see. Once Knox gives the all clear, turn around and move down the main road back to your Humvee. Board the vehicle, and continue down the road.
The Humvee will come to a stop after there is more enemy contact. Exit the vehicle, and move to the right side of the road near the trees. Continue towards the compound. There is not a lot of cover here, so be careful and try not to get shot. If you do get shot, treat your wounds quickly.
Continue toward the compound. After most of the enemies are suppressed, you will get a checkpoint and a fire team objective complete. There will still be enemies in the compound. Move forward, and continue to clear it out. Go in the same direction as Charlie and Alpha team.
Go through the big gate that you pass. There will be more enemies in this compound, and a PLA attack helicopter. Turn left at the fork in the road, and grab the anti-aircraft launcher next to the ammo supply. There will be an enemy helicopter that comes in from the east, use the launcher to take it out.
Continue down the road into the compound. There will be a mounted machine gun directly ahead, suppress it quickly. Keep going in that direction. This area will have close quarters fighting, so be aware. Suppress all the enemies in the compound.
Once Knox gives you the orders, turn around and head to Charlie teams position. Once that is all clear, you will get a checkpoint. Your next objective is to destroy the PLA transport helicopter. Follow Charlie team towards the gate. The PLA helicopter will take off. Use your anti-air launcher to destroy the helicopter. Continue to the main gate after it is destroyed.
Go through the gate and take cover using the building to the left. Spec Op teams will attack from the hill directly ahead. Defend, and suppress all the Spec Ops that try to attack. After they are suppressed, you will get a fire team objective complete. Move up the road and head up to the hill to clear it out.
Turn south east and follow that road up the hill. There will still be Spec Op teams on the road, so suppress all of them. You will get a checkpoint, and you will reach a PLA base at the top of the hill.
There will be many enemies in this base, and it is heavily defended. Prioritize your targets, and kill everyone you see. Take cover as you move forward. Keep moving through the base, and beware of close quarters. There will be ammo at the front of the base, along with an anti-air launcher. Resupply before you dig into the base.
After everyone is dead, there will be an all clear on the radio. Head back to the main gate and join Knox for a mission debrief.
Congratulations, you are now the eastern most force in Tajikistan, and you have defeated a base full of Chinese Special Forces. Continue to the next mission.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Keeping It Simple’ for completing the mission ’1st & 10, Let’s Do It Again’.
Vantage Point
You start out in a Humvee (surprise, right?). Knox is talking to Outlaw Actual on the radio. Listen to them, they explain the mission. When the Humvee stops, get out of the vehicle and move up the road.
There will be enemy contact almost immediately. Clear out everyone in and around the building directly in front of you. After there is an all clear on the radio, follow the curve in the road up the hill. You will get a checkpoint.
After the checkpoint, there will be enemy contact again. Suppress everyone near the building up the road at the first defensive position. Once most of the enemies are suppressed, move up the hill and kill anyone who’s left. After the first defensive position has been cleared, proceed up the hill.
You still have more defensive positions to clear. There will be enemies up the road, but nothing significant. Suppress anyone who gets in your way and continue up the road. Knox will inform you that you’re coming up to the last defensive position before the main base.
When you reach the next checkpoint, do the same thing you did before. Stay at a distance, and suppress any enemies. There is not a lot of cover, so use any rocks or hills you can find as cover. After most of the enemies are clear, move forward and suppress any enemies that are still at the defensive position.
When there is an all clear on the radio, you will get another checkpoint and a fire team objective complete. There is ammo scattered around the defensive position, so resupply. Continue moving up the road to the main PLA base.
Not far from the last checkpoint, you’ll reach the PLA base. Move forward to the chain link fence, and start suppressing enemies. There is not a lot of cover here, so use hills as cover. You can use buildings as cover if you move around the perimeter of the fence.
Keep moving into the main base. There will be a broken fence, so walk over it. Take cover in buildings in the area, and continue suppressing all enemies. Keep moving, and you should see a statue in the middle of the base. There is a building to the right of the statue with multiple enemies in it. I suggest focusing on that building first.
There is also a smaller building to the left of the statue, so make sure you clear that out too. Once most of them are clear, keep moving forward and clear the section of buildings to the left. Once everyone is dead, you will get a fire team objective complete.
More PLA will be attacking, so now you need to defend. Move up the hill to the building right of the statue. Order your team to defend that position. Use that building as cover, and look to the east where the enemies are attacking from. There is a mounted machine gun on one of the windows facing the east, use it to suppress the attacking PLA.
After all of the attacking PLA forces are dead, you will get a checkpoint and a fire team objective complete. You will also receive a new objective. Now, you have to destroy the AA weapon and clear the observatory. Exit the building you were defending. There will also be a PLA attack helicopter.
A Humvee will move up the hill with anti-vehicle, anti-air, weapons, and ammo. Move to the first road in the barracks and resupply next to the Humvee. Make sure you grab an anti-air weapon because there will be an enemy helicopter. After you are done resupplying, move back up the hill.
The first thing I suggest you do is destroy the PLA attack helicopter. Now, start to clear the area. If you don’t want to be stuck with an anti-air launcher, then move back to the ammo supply and get an anti-vehicle launcher.
There will be two arrows on your screen with areas that you need to clear. If you don’t want to walk to them, take a Humvee and move up the hill to the first objective. This objective will be marked with a grey arrow, not a red arrow. When you reach a sniper nest at the top of the hill, there will be Spec Op soldiers. Stay in cover, and clear them all out.
After everyone is clear, start moving back down the hill. There will be two more objectives. You will have to clear another area, and destroy an AA weapon. Move towards the AA weapon first. Clear out any enemies that are near the missile..
There will be an APC defending the missile. Destroy it. Use your anti-vehicle launcher to destroy the missile. Knox will get on the radio telling you to clear out the rest of the PLA. Start moving towards the red arrow on your screen that says ‘Clear’. There will be some PLA and an APC on the way, so suppress all of them.
Continue moving up the hill, and suppress anyone you see. Move into the nearby compounds and clear out everybody. Once everybody in the area is suppressed, Knox will order you to get to the extraction point. Move towards the red arrow on your screen that will mark the extraction point.
Wait at the helicopter landing zone for the helicopter to land, and board the vehicle. There is only one mission left, so get to it Marine.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Freeing The Eagles’ for completing the mission ‘Vantage Point’.
End of the Beginning
You will now start the last push against the PLA. You will have to take and hold a town, and clear it out. Wait until the Humvee stops, and exit the vehicle.
Move up the road with Alpha and Charlie team. Make your way to the overwatch position. The town will be directly ahead. After Knox is done talking, start suppressing the enemies in the town.
Move forward towards the town. There will be heavy PLA defense in the town, so take your time as you suppress the enemies. Secure the town one building at a time. Remember to use your squad commands to get your team to secure buildings.
Once the compound is secure, Knox will call in for support. Keep moving into the town towards the arrow that says ‘Clear’. There will be more PLA defense up the road. Continue suppressing any enemies you see. After all the ATT teams are neutralized, vehicle support will move in.
Continue into the town towards the arrow that says ‘Hold’. Move ahead out of that compound down the road until you reach more PLA defenses. Suppress them. Make sure you kill anyone that gets on the mounted machine guns. Once the support helicopter is inbound, press forward into the town.
You will have combat support available. Use mortars on the enemies to help clear out the compound. Keep pressing forward into the town, and keep clearing out PLA forces.
Command your squad to secure buildings in the town. Watch out for snipers and riflemen on the roofs of tall buildings. Clear everyone out of the large building in the center of the compound. There will be ammo scattered around in the front of the compound if you need it. Move into that building to clear out any PLA that are left.
Once everything is clear, you will get a checkpoint. Someone will come on the radio saying there will be no air support because of all the AA teams in the area. You will need to go north and take out any AA and PLA defenses you can find. Move towards the red arrow that says ‘Clear’.
There will still be PLA in the town, so be careful as you press forward. You will see another large building similar to the first one you cleared out. There will be snipers and riflemen throughout the building, so clear them all out. There will also be AA teams in there, which are your main objective. Command your squad to secure the building, and move in to clear it.
Once everyone is cleared, you will get another checkpoint and Knox will come onto the radio telling you to hold that position. Continue to suppress enemies and defend that position. Knox will order Alpha and Charlie team to fall back. Keep defending, and make good use of combat support. Once Knox tells you to, fall back to the building where Alpha and Charlie team are.
After you fall back to the hotel, you will need to start defending again. Defend this building from PLA forces for a few minutes, until your support arrives. While you are defending, remember to use combat support, it will help greatly. Once you are done defending, you will have to escort LAV to the ore refinery. Get off of the building and start moving back into the town.
Follow the vehicles into the town. There will be multiple buildings you need to secure, all of which will be marked by an arrow on your screen. There will be heavy resistance by the PLA in the town, so take your time while you advance. First, eliminate all the enemies out of the factory. When the factory is clear, keep moving towards the refinery.
When the LAV asks you to, go back behind the factory and secure the next building. If you need to, use combat support (mortars or missiles) to eliminate enemies in the building. When that building is secure, advance with the LAV. Continue towards the refinery, but stop at the next compound on the left of the road where the LAV are advancing.
Completely clear out the area near that building, but take your time. When the LAV says the compound is clear, move towards the refinery. This is the last building you have to secure. Move to the very back of the town, and start suppressing all enemies near the refinery. There are a few buildings that are a part of it, so clear all of them at the back of the town. When it’s all clear, set up a defensive perimeter using the buildings you just cleared out.
Take position at the refinery at the east of the town, and look towards the huge field in back of the town. Grab a rocket launcher, because there will be multiple APC’s advancing the town. There will also be tons of PLA infantry and Spec Ops attacking. Take cover in the buildings, and keep defending for the next few minutes. There will be multiple ammo supply crates in the buildings if you need to resupply.
The PLA will start to retreat, and Knox will call in to inform that the PLA are falling back. You will be told to not pursue the PLA forces. Regroup on the roof of the refinery, and wait for the chopper to pick you up. When you get up there, wait for Knox, Alpha team, and Charlie team.
Knox will give a touching speech, and you will all talk about how messed up war is. Knox will talk about how bad war is, but it is necessary. He will talk about how it was all necessary to save innocent people. You also find out what rule #3 is. Congratulations, you forced the PLA out of Tajikistan, and saved innocent lives. Be proud, Marine.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 20G achievement called ‘Shock and Ore’ for completing the mission ‘End of the Beginning’.
ACHIEVEMENT:As soon as you complete this mission, you will receive a 100G achievement called ‘Operation Dragon Slayer’ for completing Act 3 of the campaign.
