Nuclear Dawn has been in development for half a decade — so long that many people thought it would never come out. Now its developers hope to prove people wrong. Built using Valve’s world-famous Source engine, the game is soon to join a distinguished group of titles that began life as Half-Life mods but eventually transmogrified into boxed commercial products. Banking on a slick, post-apocalyptic look and a number of interesting ideas, the game’s creators hope that Nuclear Dawn will become the next Team Fortress.
Gameplay is built around five-man teams, which are comprised of four mutually-assisting first-person specialists and one commander, who views the battlefield from a godlike, RTS-style perspective. The emphasis in the game is therefore on a careful teamwork, which is always a challenge. In order to better surivive the Nuclear Dawn, we’re preparing a full walkthrough. Check back on release day for the first updates.
