2. WALKTHROUGH
————————–

==============
A. Double Drabobo
==============
PARODY: Double Dragon
The first screens will tell you how to control this particular section of the game, which functions as a side-scrolling brawler. Use A and S to punch and kick respectively, and use the arrow keys to move. The way this walkthrough will work is that I will take you screen by screen and explain what you need to do, or offer up strategies.

Defeat the enemies on the first screen. The game will then tell you to GO to the right. You will find a young child walking back and forth called a Ransomling, a parody of River City Ransom. If you attack the Ransomling, Abobo will rip its head off and eat it. This will replenish Abobo’s health, so keep that in mind for later.

On the next screen, a group of Kung Fu Huggys will come out of the building in a line. Stand still and just mash on the attack button as they get near until they are all dead. When they’re defeated, a new enemy on a skateboard will race back and forth across the screen. Wait for him to get close, and then hit the attack button. He will always come out of the right side if he disappears to the right, and to the left if he disappears to the left. He will just take two hits to defeat.

Continue. Donkey Kong will appear on the balcony of the brick building with a bunch of explosive barrels. Defeat the regular enemies on the street while avoiding the barrels. The shadow of the barrel will appear on the ground to warn you that the barrel is about to come crashing down. When the enemies are defeated, ladders will descend that lead up to DK. Climb the ladders and beat the hell out of him until his health is depleted and he’s dead. The doors below will open and Donkey Kong Junior will appear, freaking out because his dad is dead. If you want, give him the boot and send him flying, and continue to the next screen.

At the next screen, you will have to fight a bunch more enemies. When they’re defeated, the red barrel at the end of the screen comes to life as Beardy Barrel. Kill Beardy Barrel and then move on to the next screen. At this screen you will find more enemies as well as a Ransomling to replenish your health if need be. Kill everything, then the factory doors will open, allowing you entry.

Inside, you have to fight a boss Shooter Gavin. Run up to him and punch him in the face repeatedly. He will roll away and then start shooting. Wait for him to be done shooting, and then return to mashing on him again. Repeat this process until Gavin is killed…via forklift.

B. Super Mabobo
============
PARODY: Super Mario Bros.
To escape the pipe, mash on the A button. Free of the pipe, start swimming. You need to constantly push A in order to swim, and press S to use your tongue to eat enemies. Launch enemies by pressing S, which will send them into other enemies. It’s easier to just kill them off than dodge them, so just swim through the level and try to kill all the enemies along the way.

You will come across a robot fish with electric jellyfish blocking the way forward. Swim forward and then descend so you are descending directly in front of the green structure, with your feet even over those sprites. This will be enough distance for you to avoid being hit by smaller robot fish that the big one shoots out of its mouth. Snatch one up with your tongue, and when there’s nothing in the way, blast the fish. Repeat the process until it is destroyed.

Swim forward and you will find a door reminiscent of the doors in Super Mario Bros. 2. Inside you will find a mermaid. You have options. You can hit the mermaid, which will increase your Rage meter. You can mate with the Mermaid for an achievement. You can eat the Mermaid, even. Do whatever you want with the Mermaid to continue.

Kill the few fish along the way. You will then come across a narrow space with pink seaweed that is electrified blocking it. It is nearly impossible to avoid taking damage from the seaweed. It’s smart to just purposely run into one and then be momentarily invincible so swim by the seaweed without taking damage. You will have to swim through even more electric seaweed. Do your best to avoid taking damage, but if you do, use the momentarily invincibility to traverse the seaweed successfully.

You will then come across a Mega Man wannabe blocking the way with bubbles that block the path. He fires bubbles, so snatch them up, and then fire the bubbles at him. Keep doing that until he dies. When his health meter is gone and he’s defeated, all the bubbles will disappear.

Keep swimming. Avoid the swordfish, then keep going until you find Karnov. In case you couldn’t guess, Karnov will throw stuff at you, and the path behind him is impassable unless you throw his projectiles back at him. Keep towards the top of the screen. This is a good way to avoid his attacks, while also eating the fish that he throws. Throw the fish back at Karnov. When he dies, the path will be come passable.

You will come to an enclosed area. Kill the fish and then wait. A shark will start swimming back and forth. This is Jaws. As he continues to swim back and forth, skeletons of dead fish will float along the screen. Grab them, and then wait for Jaws to swim by. Shoot the fish skeletons at Jaws. Do this a few times to deplete his health and he will die.

With that shark dead, a much larger shark will replace him. He’s gigantic and he’s got a freakin’ laser beam on his head. Avoid the lasers as you swim towards the giant shark. He will aim towards the sky and start firing, which will cause Tetris blocks to fall to the ground. Avoid the Tetris blocks. When fish skeletons swim by, eat them up and then fire them back at the giant fish. Keep doing this until he dies.

C. Urban Chabobo
=============
PARODY: Urban Champion
This is a quickie. Just punch the guy repeatedly towards the street. When you reach the end of the sidewalk, you will knock him back and across to the other sidewalk. Then continue to punch him until you punch him across to the other sidewalk. Then punch him to the end of that sidewalk, and you will be instructed to “FINISH HIM”. Do it by mashing on the A and S buttons.

E. Pro Wrabobo
============
PARODY: Balloon Fight/Pro Wrestling
This level is separated into two different primary parody games. The first is Balloon Fight. You scroll across the screen from the right to the left, with two balloons attached. If an enemy or a projectile hits the balloon, it pops, which takes away half of your health, and leaves you with one balloon. Green balloons that are floating around can be acquired to replenish your health.

Avoid obstacles and take out potential threats by either popping their balloons or landing on their head. Ignore Amazon in the jetpack, as you can’t do damage to him at this point and you just need to dodge his projectiles. There are floating platforms of grass that can be landed on and can alleviate a serious amount of pressure if you land on them, as you don’t have to worry about constantly pressing buttons to stay floating.

Eventually you will reach Death throwing scythes across the screen. Avoid them, and then when you fly out into black space, Amazon’s jetpack will fail and he will fall to the Earth. This is where the second part of this level begins. Looks like the battle between Amazon and Abobo will be settled inside the squared circle!

Just button mash for this section. Get up close and button mash the hell out of him. Eventually Amazon will use his tongue to throw you outside of the ring. On the outside, you can grab the steel chairs leaning against the barricades by pressing A to deal  a bit more damage than your typical strikes and grappling moves.

In case you didn’t notice, your attacks on Amazon deal barely any damage. In order to defeat him fast, you have to build up your Rage meter. When it is filled up, use it on Amazon to finish the battle.

F. Mega Mabobo
============
PARODY: Mega Man
Fall down the hole. Wait for the enemy to finish its attack, and then it will drop down into the hole. That’s your cue to continue and then drop down the next hole. Kill the duck, and then drop down. Move Abobo towards the next hole to avoid the giant lasers that will shoot across the screen and kill you. Keep dodging the lasers and killing the enemies until you land in an area with a small dinosaur robot that shoots flames. This is a checkpoint. If you died before this point, you would have had to start at the beginning in true Mega Man fashion.

Kill the enemies and push forward into the darkness. As you move through the dark, if you find yourself not making any noticeable progress, that means you probably need to jump. Ignore the flying balls that shoot projectiles, by the way; they are just a pain in the ass to defeat. To destroy the penguin factory releasing Dr. Mario viruses, fall into the hole that’s in front of it and jump, shoot it, jump, shoot it, jump, shoot it. When it’s destroyed, move forward. Shoot through the wall to kill the pumpkin, then continue until you are back into light.

In this next section, you will be doing a lot of falling to avoid the laser blasts. Just always move towards the ledge so you can avoid being hit by the lasers. When you reach solid ground again, defeat the enemies. Move forward through the set of doors to reach the boss, a robotic version of Abobo!

Mash on the fire button. His attacks include throwing Dr. Wily at you, throwing a saw blade at you, and fire colorful blasts at you. All his attacks can be avoided simply by jumping over them. He will also jump across the room sometimes, and that can be avoided simply by moving to the opposite end of the area. When you deplete his health, a bigger version of him will be your reward.

This guy can only be hurt by firing at his face. His rapid blasts are somewhat hard to dodge, so try to time it so you can dodge his blasts by jumping and still be able to shoot him in his ugly mug. He will turn into a puddle and move from one end of the room to the next, which just means you need to comply as well. Keep laying into him until he is defeated.

G. Contrabobo
===========
PARODY: Contra
This level is EXTREMELY hard. You start off with only three lives, and you basically have to push through the first level of Contra, albeit with interesting enemies such as Jason Voorhees and Toxie added to the equation. Just move from the left of the screen to the right of the screen, killing enemies, picking up power-ups, and avoiding any and all attacks since you are killed in one hit.

When you die all your lives, you will be given an opportunity to input the famous Konami Code. The code is slightly modified to accommodate for the Abobo’s Big Adventure controls: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, S, A, (start is done automatically). When the code is inputted, you will be given a lot of lives, but be warned that the code only works once, so you need to be cautious throughout the rest of the level.

Eventually you will reach Krang. Krang will move back and forth across the screen and shoot his arm at you like a rocket. When Krang is on the right side of the screen, drop down to the middle of the mound and get into a prone position to shoot him while safely being able to avoid his rocket arm. When he moves towards you, move to the right of the screen, get prone, and blast the hell out of him. Repeat the process until Krang is defeated.

Unfortunately, Kirby shows up and then Krang grows to an immense size with Kirby at the controls. Get on the top platform and shoot the hell out of his arm. Jump over the arm when it fires, and jump over the alien fetus that Kirby shoots. When Kirby recalls the fetus with his breath, you will be able to avoid it from the top platform. Keep firing until his arm blows up.

Then turn your attention to his head. Stay on the top platform. Without his arm to fire, it’s a lot easier to just have to dodge the Alien fetus. Keep firing at his head and jumping to avoid attacks until his head blows up. Then move to the platform right in front of Kirby’s face. Fire repeatedly into Kirby’s face, but be sure to avoid the Alien as it is recalled with Kirby’s breath. If you are prone, Kirby won’t be able to hit you with it when he shoots it out of his mouth. Keep firing until an explosion occurs, Kirby escapes, and the level turns into a vertical Contra level.

Now this next stretch is very, very difficult. Basically, you have to get to the top. Try VERY hard to get to the top with still 9x lives left. The Kirby boss battle is quite the pain, and not having your 9+ lives will make it even more stressful. I will give you strategy on that in a bit that will hopefully increase your chances of winning considerably. But at any rate, just fight your way to the very top of the screen to fight the final boss.

This Kirby boss is quite hard. You have to aim upwards to damage him. Blast the hell out of him as soon as you can. He will then start sucking in air. Move against the air current, and stick to the right side of the screen to avoid being hit by debris, all the while firing upwards. Occasionally Kirby will suck something in from the right side, but most of the time the stuff comes in from the left.

There are three different items that Kirby can suck up that will give him various powers. The first is a rock that will let him puff up to giant side and then smash at you. You can’t hurt him after he’s sucked this up. Wait for the shadow to the be on the ground when he floats in the air and then move out of the way. He will then come crashing down to the ground and return to his position behind the screen a bit.

Kirby will also suck up a fireball. This is when you can deal the most damage to him without having to worry about him sucking you up. You can still deal damage to him during this attack as opposed to when he sucked up the rock. He will shoot a bunch of fireballs into the air, so avoid the fireballs and then keep blasting at him.

His final attack is when he sucks up an ice ball. When he does this, this provides you another fantastic opportunity to attack him during his attack animations. He will shoot a missile made out of ice that will follow Abobo around. It’s slow and easy to dodge, so don’t worry too much about it. When Kirby’s health has been drained, he will vomit and die. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!

H. Punchabobo
===========
PARODY: Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!
If you haven’t played a Punch-Out!! game before, you just need to remember to watch for patterns, move out of the way, and then strike. You are versing Little Mac, and he will have two attacks. He will flash, and then immediately spring up for an uppercut. As soon as you see the flash, dodge to the left or to the right, then attack with A or S. His other attack, he still flashes, but he charges his punch. Wait a little bit, then dodge as he’s coming up, then punch him.

You have to do this a lot. If you get Rage, don’t be afraid to use it. If Little Mac happens to take you out, you have to mash on the A and S buttons to recover. When Little Mac has been knocked down a bunch, he will obtain a bunch of power-ups from a hidden block and attack. He will have a bunch of attacks now, but the best strategy is to just spam punches on him. Knock him down a couple of times when he’s in beast form and he will revert to normal and resume the old pattern. When prompted, press A and S at the same time to finally put him down.
