  • Full Gunzerker
  • Weapon Damage
  • Dual Pistols
  • Dual Revolvers

The Gunzerker is perhaps the character class that needs the least amount of explanation. All you have to do is to take out your biggest and baddest gun, then start mowing down fools with your Gunzerk and massive firepower. Here are builds to maximize Salvador’s offensive prowess.

Overview

This build is all about using your Gunzerking skill for as long and as often as possible. Just like with the Berzerker in the first game, you can regain your Gunzerk and use it again in the middle of a big fight once you have filled up the skill trees as indicated. You will use no Gunlust skills whatsoever since it won’t matter when you’re Gunzerking all the time. Shotguns aren’t as viable for this character like with the Berzerker in the first game, so

Strategy

There isn’t much strategy to this other than to rush in, turn Gunzerk on, and fire away with both weapons and watch your victims fall by the dozen. It must be noted though that while your ammo regenerates during Gunzerk, it will not do so fast enough to be virtually unlimited as you shoot away, especially if you’re using automatic weapons.

Weapon Damage

Skills

  • Locked And Loaded 5: Reloading your gun gives you +25% Fire Rate for a short time.
  • Quick Draw 5: +35% Weapon Swap Speed and +10% Critical Hit Damage.
  • Divergent Likeness 2: +12% Damage when Gunzerking with two of the same type of guns. +12% Accuracy when Gunzerking with two different types of guns.

  • Lay Waste 5: Kill Skill. Killing an enemy gives +40% Fire Rate and +25% Critical Hit Damage with Guns for a short time.
  • Keep It Piping Hot 5: While Gunzerking is in the process of cooling down you gain +25% Gun Damage, +30% Melee Damage, and +25% Grenade Damage.
  • No Kill Like Overkill 1: Any excess damage dealt to an enemy that kills them is transferred to the next enemy fired at.
  • Filled to the Brim 5: +25% Magazine Capacity and +15% Ammunition Capacity for all weapon types.
  • All in the Reflexes 5: +30% Reload Speed and +20% Melee Damage.
  • Last Longer 5: +15 seconds Gunzerking duration.
  • Steady as She Goes 1: +80% Recoil Reduction and 30% chance to improve Accuracy on hit when Gunzerking.
  • Incite 1: Taking damage gives +6% Movement Speed and +5% Reload Speed for a few seconds.

Overview

This build is all about offensive power and should only be attempted by those with patience and skill to survive gunfights. Having massive weapon damage doesn’t mean that you can go straight in with guns blazing and no regard for personal safety since that’s what the Full Gunzerker build is designed for. This build is for those who have the ability to land shots to the head accurately while sustaining minimal damage. You will also need very good items for this build to maximize its effectiveness.

Strategy

You will be using a lot of cover with this build since you don’t have as much health to go around in. Even with Gunzerk on, you are still somewhat vulnerable, so plan your approach and take out enemies in quick succession. You can mow down cannon fodder quite quickly, so you can focus on them while staying out of range from bigger enemies. Once the little fish are dead, you can then concentrate your fire on the bigger ones, making sure to aim for the head until they’re dead.

Dual Pistols

Skills

  • Locked And Loaded 5: Reloading your gun gives you +25% Fire Rate for a short time.
  • Quick Draw 5: +35% Weapon Swap Speed and +10% Critical Hit Damage.
  • Divergent Likeness 5: +30% Damage when Gunzerking with two of the same type of guns. +30% Accuracy when Gunzerking with two different types of guns.
  • Lay Waste 3: Kill Skill. Killing an enemy gives +24% Fire Rate and +15% Critical Hit Damage with Guns for a short time.
  • Filled to the Brim 5: +25% Magazine Capacity and +15% Ammunition Capacity for all weapon types.
  • Last Longer 5: +15 seconds Gunzerking duration.
  • I’m Ready Already 5: +25% Gunzerking Cooldown Rate.
  • Steady as She Goes 1: +80% Recoil Reduction and 30% chance to improve Accuracy on hit when Gunzerking.
  • Yippie Ki Yay 5: Increases the duration of Gunzerking by +3 seconds every time an enemy is killed while Gunzerking.
  • Get Some 4: Shooting an enemy decreases Gunzerking cooldown by –2.4 seconds. Has a cooldown of 3 seconds.
  • Keep Firing 1: While Gunzerking, you gain up to +88% Fire Rate and +25% Reload Speed depending on how long you hold down the trigger.
  • Incite 1: Taking damage gives +6% Movement Speed and +5% Reload Speed for a few seconds.

Overview

Perhaps the best balance between firing rate and accuracy, dual pistols during Gunzerk is pretty effective in other things aside from just making you feel like an action star in a John Woo movie. Since you get bigger magazine capacity thanks to Filled to the Brim and some speed in part of Incite, it’s all about laying down fire while being quick getting from cover to cover.

Strategy

You will be doing a lot more circle strafing with this build as you take out targets one at a time. While not in Gunzerk, you have to utilize cover more as you wait for it to fill back up. Make sure that your stronger pistol is in your main hand so you don’t get caught with a weaker weapon.

Dual Revolvers

Skills

  • Locked And Loaded 5: Reloading your gun gives you +25% Fire Rate for a short time.
  • I’m Your Huckleberry 5: +15% Damage and Reload Speed with pistols.
  • Divergent Likeness 5: +30% Damage when Gunzerking with two of the same type of guns. +30% Accuracy when Gunzerking with two different types of guns.
  • Money Shot 5: The last bullet fired from any gun does +40% damage per magazine size, up to +400% damage.
  • Inconceivable 1: Up to 10% chance for shots not to consume ammo depending on how low your health and shields are.
  • 5 Shots or 6 1: Grants a 5% chance to add an extra round of ammunition when firing instead of expending ammunition.
  • Yippie Ki Yay 1: Increases the duration of Gunzerking by +0.6 seconds every time an enemy is killed while Gunzerking.

Overview

This one is a bit like the Dual Pistols build, but with more emphasis on Gunlust skills. Even if you can get more than 5-6 shots per gun thanks to Filled to the Brim, you still have to make each shot count in order to use Yippie Ki Yay to the fullest extent until everything is dead.

Strategy

Almost like with the Dual Pistol build, but with more use of cover. Remember that you have grenades, so use them to damage enemies that are bunched up together or the more stubborn ones.
