The world has ended, and the people have been replaced by soulless oil creatures that would like nothing more than to convert you into their cause. With limited supply and resources, your main goal is to survive with whatever you can scrounge up. The Drowning features next generation graphics and a very innovative control system that should interest all fans of the genre. Let this guide help you make the most out of this post apocalyptic world by giving you insights on some of the basics of the game.

Gameplay
The Drowning is a first person shooting game where players can participate in two different types of campaigns in order to move around different locations. Weapon upgrades are also available so that players will have an easier time destroying enemies. Components for vehicles and weapons play a very important role in the game as these must be crafted before they can become accessible.

Controls
The game offers two different kinds of control scheme. The first is the traditional method where there is a control stick that can be used for movement and firing, with a cursor signifying where shots would be made. The other method is an alternative option where players can tap on where they want to go, and swiping at the screen will have players look around. There’s also a dedicated button if players want to turn around. Lastly, two finger tapping will have the player fire at targets, with the shot taking place between your fingers. Players can choose as to which method they want any time in the game with the latter method being the default option.

Currency
Gold is the premium currency within the game. This can be used to purchase additional energy as well as other resources necessary to move forward in the game. Gold can also be used to purchase premium items that are not normally available. Gold, like most premium currency, can only be acquired through in-app purchases.

Other forms of currency include black, gas, and flare guns. These can be used to travel, craft equipment, or get components necessary to build items and vehicles. All of these resources can be normally acquired through regular means, but can also be purchased using gold.

Energy
Energy is another resource that is required to play the game. Energy is required to go to different spots and perform missions. Energy is constantly being replenished over time, but it can be refilled instantly using gold if you do not want to wait.

Missions
Missions basically fall under one of two categories. Attack missions will have players destroying as many enemies as they can within a time limit, while Defense missions will require players defend three points of entry. Each location in the map will have different missions and different rewards, and the better your score, the more items players will get, mostly in the form of black, components, and other special items. In order to do this, players must kill as many enemies as they can and perform headshots, as this will give bonus points. Also, killing many monsters within a short amount of time without getting damage will enter players into Frenzy Mode, where in points awarded are higher than usual.

More missions will be made available once vehicles have been crafted. This will allow you to travel to different locations where there are more missions to do and more items t find. However, players should take note that previously completed missions can still be played again, especially if you haven’t acquired the component found in that particular area yet.

Weapons
Players can use and equip different types of weapons of varying stats. Unlike most games, weapons are found rather than bought, albeit in a broken state. In order to fix weapons and make them available for use, players must find the necessary components indicated in the menu. By clicking on these components, players can know as to which location, or locations, these pieces can be found.

Weapons can also be upgraded in order to increase its firepower. To do this, players must use up parts, which are found in missions as well, and black in order to increase a weapon’s XP and level, making it a better all around weapon.
