There are many different arenas in Ryse: Son of Rome that you can play the
multiplayer in. Typically, these “Arenas” are a playlist of levels, with
different objectives being constantly thrown into the mix as you go along.
===========
HOW TO PLAY
===========
There are a few basic objectives that are recycled repeatedly throughout each
level in the multiplayer Arena. This is a basic explanation of what you can
expect to see from the different Arenas.
One objective is a simple one of simply killing all the enemies necessary in
order to proceed. The amount of enemies needing to be killed will be
determined by a bar on the bottom of the screen. Fill the bar and the next
objective will pop up. Sometimes after completing other objectives, the game
will still ask you to clear the area of all enemies, so if you are stuck and
can’t figure out what to do, it is likely that there is an enemy nearby.
Another objective type is dumping cauldrons to destroy enemy fortresses or
smashing gears to destroy other enemy fortifactions. These objects will glow
yellow. That means to destroy them, knock them over, etc., simply walk up and
press Y.
When capturing areas from enemy leaders, first you need to kill the initial
groups of enemies there. Then stand in the center square until the meter at the
bottom of the screen as filled. As you wait there, more enemies will continue
to spawn and attack.
Scattered throughout the maps are large buttons on the ground. The picture on
the button indicates what will happen if you step on it. The buttons can cause
spikes to rise from the ground or cause flames to shoot up from the ground as
well. They are traps that are used to kill groups of enemies that may be
following you around the Arena.

LEVELS
======
You can choose pre-set playlists of levels that will all be contained in one
theme. Furthermore, you can choose to play “Round to Round”, which means that
you and your co-op partner will take turns deciding what the next level will
be.
If you want to play solo, four different snippets from the arenas are availbe
to play. They are as follows:
Courtyard
Ruins
Sandstorm
Oasis
These levels and others make up the different playlists, which all have their
own names, strategies, and objectives.

2. Customization
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
The character that you play as in Ryse: Son of Rome in the multiplayer is
basically created by you. The character’s armor, weapons, potions, and
costume can all be edited.
=============
BOOSTER PACKS
=============
In your first multiplayer battles, your character will be pretty much naked
in the battlefield. However, winning battles will earn coins that can be
used to purchase Booster Packs. Booster Packs contain different items of
varying worth and rarity, but you never know quite what you’re going to get.
It’s like blind packages for trading card games.
After you purchase these packs, the items will become available in the
customization screen. It is here that you can choose what armor and weapons
your gladiator uses in battle.
Furthermore, you can also choose between three different costumes (though the
other two have to be purchased), and what potions your gladiator will be
bringing to the fight. Potions can refill your health and focus.
Equipping different armors and weapons as well as leveling up will improve
your gladiator’s stats. These are the different stats that can be improved
throughout the game:
Crowd Bonus
XP Gain
Health Regen
Health Amount
Health Capsules
Focus Gain
Focus Amount
Focus Capsules
Focus Time

ALLEGIANCES
===========
Before each multiplayer match, you have to choose which of the four different
gods to pledge allegiance to, which can have various effects on your time with
the multiplayer.
By playing multiple matches under each god, you will eventually unlock a
special item that can only be equipped by completing matches while pledged to
that god.
——-
JUPITER
——-
If you pledge allegiance to Jupiter, you will regain Focus every time you
perform an execution.
Furthermore, you gain the ability called Time Storm. This slows down the
enemies, allowing you to repeatedly attack them without having to worry about
countering their attacks or having them block or dodge your own.
—-
MARS
—-
Choosing Mars as your god will cause you to get a damage bonus every time you
perform an execution.
The Focus Ability assigned to Mars is called Fires of War. Activating the Fires
of War will simply damage enemies that are in range with fire.
——
APOLLO
——
Executions while aligned with Apollo will all you to regain your health when
performing executions. Like the Jupiter ability, the Solar Stun ability tied
to Apollo slows down time.
—–
DIANA
—–
Performing executions with Diana will allow you to gain an XP boost with each
execution.
Diana has the special ability Hurricane Blast associated with her. If you
perform the Hurricane Blast, you will knock back the enemies that are
surrounding them.
In all honesty, Diana’s ability is the most useless. The best ones to use are
Apollo or Jupiter. Their time slowing ability is the most useful in battle,
and the benefits you get while executing enemies with them are the most useful
in the Arena.
