Disco Bees Walkthrough [Guide]

Bees are not known for their dancing skills, but after playing Disco Bees, you’ll be accepting it as a fact of life. Disco Bees is a classic puzzle game that dances a different tune, as it is played in a hexagonal grid instead of the usual four-by-four board. Everything is pretty basic, as players have to concentrate on clearing boards by making combo matches and, with the help of some very Super friends, try and get the highest scores possible. It’s a very enjoyable game that you can tap your feet to, and here’s our guide to get you started. Bee prepared!

Gameplay
Disco Bees is a match type game where in the goal is to make matches of three or more bees of the same color. Matches of more than three and in different groupings will also be awarded with Super bees that can clear boards in more effective ways. All of these will count towards allowing players to meet objectives, such as clearing all honey from the board, and to have a higher score. Each level limits the number of moves that players can make in order to reach the required goal, which is why each turn should be thought of very carefully.

Lives
Players start off with five lives. Each time players fail a stage or quits prematurely, they will lose one life and should players run out of it, they would no longer be able to play. Lives regenerate over time, so players can simply wait until they can try a stage again. Players may also choose to pay real money in order to get a full set of lives or to ask these from friends.

Stars
Each stage allows players to earn a total of three stars. The number of stars that players can earn will depend on their total score at the end of the level. Making more combos and clearing more bees with less moves will yield a higher score. Collecting a certain number of stars will unlock bonus levels, so make it a point to try and collect all stars by going back to previously completed levels to catch them all.

Super Bees
Super bees will be added onto your board should players make matches outside of the usual three of a kind. For example, making matches of four will create a ninja bee which would clear entire rows of bees. On the other hand, making matches in the shape of a V will create a boxer bee that will clear all the bees within the general area. There are other bees such as those that will clear all bees of a specific color, and many more.

Super bees may also be combined by switching them with each other. Different combinations will have different effects, so take note of these so that you can perform matches at the right moment. Additional bees may also be purchased using in-app purchases, although all levels can actually be solved without the use of this.

Waggle Dance
Should players be able to complete the objective with some moves still remaining, this will activate Waggle Dance mode, which randomly transforms remaining bees in your grid into Super Bees, with the number depending on the moves that you have left. These Super Bees would in turn activate, clearing even more bees on the board.

Waggle Dances are a great way to further add to your score, and this should serve as added motivation so that you would try to complete objectives with the least number of moves possible. Take note that all Super Bees left on the board will be activated even if you do not have any moves remaining.

Social Function
Disco Bees does not have a multiplayer function, but players can link the game to their Facebook accounts so that they can see how their friends who are playing the game are faring with regards to the stage that you are currently playing. Players may also give and receive lives as gifts. In addition, simply logging into your Facebook account for the first time will reward you with some great rewards. Thus, linking Disco Bees to social media will yield a ton of benefits that you should definitely not miss out on.

Tips and Tricks
As with most puzzle games, make sure to make every move that you make count. Usual strategies include working at the bottom of the grids so as to increase the chances of combos cascading from above. Of course, don’t miss out on the chance to earn some Super Bees should the opportunity come your way.

Players will be awarded with Extra Moves at the start of the game. Extra Moves will, obviously, add extra moves to the stage, so players should use this only if they are very near completing a very tough level. Otherwise, it would be much better to sacrifice a life and retry the puzzle rather than waste this very precious resource and probably spending real money for extra ones. Similarly, don’t waste money on Super Bees as you can create them for free during regular gameplay.

If you find yourself stumped, wait for hints from the game. This is signified by tingling bees that will show you a next possible move. Feel free to ignore this, however, if you find a better match somewhere else. There’s no time limit within the game so feel free to think things through. Remember, each move must count towards reaching the objective.

Sometimes, it would also be wise to make matches outside of your main objective. This is for the sole purpose of putting bees in a better position to make matches. Don’t fool yourself into making moves that do not yield significant progress, however. As stated over and over again, you should make each move work by either scoring you tons of points or putting you in a better position to do so. Always try and remember what the specific objectives are, as well, whether it be clearing honey or scoring a minimum number of points.
