It’s time to go back to Witch School with Bubble Witch Saga 2. Help your character clear bubbles, as well as free friendly ghosts and other cuddly – and not-so-cuddly – creatures. A good aim and strategic placement of bubbles is essential in order to score more, earn stars, and graduate with flying colors. A little bit of chance comes in, as well, in the form of lucky bounces and cauldrons wherein dropped balls will add more to your total points. Here’s our guide on how to play this immensely addictive bubble shooting game.
Gameplay
Bubble Witch Sage 2 is a bubble shooting game where in players can shoot bubbles and match them in strings of three or more. Each stage requires different objectives to be met, and players are given a set number of moves to complete the round. Additional effects such as balls bouncing off “nice” spiders and having them fall into cauldrons will further add to your score, and powerups are available within the game to help you out during the tougher stages ahead.
Currency
Gold bars are the main currency within Bubble Witch Saga 2. Gold bars can be used for a variety of purposes such as buying additional moves, refilling your number of lives, as well as buying powerups. Gold bars can be purchased using real money, and the more you are willing to spend, the more gold bars you would get in return. Don’t worry, though, as using gold bars is completely optional as all stages in the game can be beat without using this resource at all.
Lives
Players are given five lives, and these are required for players to be able to play. Should players fail or quit a stage, a life will be deducted, and they will either have to wait for it to replenish or use gold bars to refill it so that they may be able to play again. They can also connect the game to Facebook in order to ask for, receive, and give lives to and from friends as gifts so that they would not have to wait long in order to play again.
Powerups
Powerups come in the form of items that can be used in order to help players out if they feel as if they are stuck and with limited number of moves left. Powerups include being able to use a ball that can match with any two bubbles of the same color, as well as a fire bubble that will clear all bubbles that it touches in its path. Powerups will unlock as players progress through the levels, and they will be given a handful each time they are made available.
Powerups come at a limited supply, though, and using more powerups will mean that you will have to exchange gold bars for them. Thus, use powerups wisely and only if doing so will guarantee that you will be able to clear the stage.
Stars
Players can earn up to a maximum of three stars during each level, and this will depend on how many points players are able to score. Players can try to get more points in a variety of ways, and this includes being able to make matches consecutively as this will trigger a mode where in points scored will be double its actual value. Making matches will also make spiders appear, and bouncing fallen bubbles over them will cause players to score more points. There are also cauldrons at the bottom of the screen, and players can earn extra points by dropping bubbles on pots with higher scores on them.
Lastly, it would be very advantageous for players to finish puzzles with more moves left as this will have excess bubbles shooting out and falling into the aforementioned cauldrons, and dropping more bubbles will certainly be beneficial especially if spiders are in place.
Stages
Stages within Bubble Witch Saga 2 are linear, and only by finishing the last stage will the next one open up. Players can repeat previously completed stages in order to collect all stars or to beat their personal or friends’ scores. Requirements within each stage will vary, but these range from clearing a certain number of topmost gems, as well as freeing ghosts or other animals.
Tips and Tricks
Connect the game to Facebook if you can. Not only will you be able to see and try to beat your friends’ scores, but you can also use this channel to get extra lives so that you don’t have to wait or pay for having your lives refilled. With that, make sure to conserve your gold bars as you wouldn’t be getting a lot of this for free. Use them only when absolutely needed, and don’t waste these on lives that you can simply wait for to get.
Good aim is very essential within the game. Aim for bubbles higher up, and try to look for bubbles that, when removed, will have lots of bubbles attached to it fall as well. This will allow you to score more points than usual, especially if you have Hot Pot mode on. Don’t make high risk shots, though, as this might close up openings that you may have had. However, do practice bank shots and use the guide lines to improve your shooting, as this will help you clear stages where in accuracy is of utmost importance.
Take note also that you can switch between your current shot and the next on the line. This can be a pretty good strategy especially if the next bubble will not allow for any possible matches and you are trying to maintain your combo. If all else fails and you have to let go of a shot, have the bubble attach to a cluster that can be removed with one or two shots so that they would fall and to your score.
It is also recommended to check up on your remaining moves from time to time in order to see if using a powerup would be a good idea. Also, you might get so focused in getting high scores that you’ll forget the main objective of the level, and this would cause you to lose the round regardless of how many points you’ve already collected.
Lastly, be mindful of the ghost stages, as your shots will cause the entire structure to rotate. Other stages behave differently once you make your moves as well, as some bubbles will retreat upwards or shoot downwards depending on the situation. Use these to your advantage so that you will be able to more easily clear each stage and earn all stars.
