Health diminishes as players get shot at, and this will carry over towards the next battle. Players can spend coins to heal themselves when not in a gunfight, as well as use first aid kits when it battle to replenish health.

Thus, it is very important to keep an eye out on your health bar and to try and avoid getting shot at as much as possible. This entails moving around and making sure that you have adequate cover once enemies start shooting. Make sure also that you have a first aid kit for emergency healing purposes.

Experience

Different weapons also have different ammo capacities, so be on the lookout for when it’s time to reload.

Reloading is done manually, and players can tap on the screen so that the reload meter will stop at a desired spot. This will make reloading faster. However, tapping too early or too late will delay reloading, so proper timing is a must.

Players can purchase both primary and secondary weapons, and although same weapons may be offered from time to time, these differ in statistics and price. Some weapons even have enhancement slots that will allow players to provide weapons with additional benefits. Players can refresh offers by waiting a couple of hours or by paying coins.

You will also have access to dynamite which can destroy multiple enemies at once. This resource is infinite but will take some time to recharge. Using this armament as well as whatever weapons you can get is essential in winning tougher gunfights. Keep in mind also that players can only keep a limited number of weapons in their inventory with additional slots available for purchase.

Rage
Rage is a meter that increases each time players kill a bandit and decreases if your character gets hit. Should the player get the Rage meter filled up, then they will enter Rage Mode. Once Rage mode is activated, shots will be more powerful and bandits will move slower, among other benefits. This will allow you to take down more enemies faster and rake in more coins. The Rage meter’s progress carries over to the next stages, so don’t worry if you don’t get it filled up as you will have the chance to do so in the next fight.

Stages
There are different areas that players will get to encounter bandits. Each stage will increase in difficulty, which means that enemies will be tougher and they will get to deal more damage. Players will be able to see the difficulty level of a stage before they enter, which is why they should be properly equipped before beginning. This intro page will also display the number of enemies that you will get to encounter as well as the number of first aid kits and secondary weapon ammo that you currently have. The difficulty level will reset once you die and a new character is introduced.

Missions
Like most games, Western 1849 also has a missions section where in players can try to complete quests in exchange for cash. Examples of quests are buying a total of four weapons, firing two hundred shots, or finishing five stages without losing health, among others. All missions will progress regardless of what stage in the game you are currently in, and prizes will have to be claimed manually before you will be able to use them. While missions will eventually be completed via regular gameplay, it is recommended that you check up on the list often and try to complete easy missions first so that you will be able to get more coins at a faster rate.
