Angry Birds Transformers Walkthrough [Guide]

In this new incarnation of the popular Rovio game, Angry Birds Transformers has the bitter rival birds and pigs – now known as Autobirds and Deceptihogs – join forces as they battle new enemies, the Eggbots. There’s still that old Angry Birds flavor infused within this title, but with shooting and upgrade systems thrown in. Of course, the game wouldn’t have any right to have the Transformers term in its title if your characters wouldn’t be able to transform. Here’s our comprehensive guide on how to save the island from invaders, and to unlock everything quickly as quickly as a bird moves – in robot form or otherwise.

Gameplay
Angry Birds Transformers is a side scrolling game where in movement is automated, and controls are limited to shooting and triggering abilities such as transforming and using special skills earned as players do upgrades. Players will also be able to unlock different areas as well as new characters to play as. There’s also a social function integrated within the game so that players can call upon allies in order to help them out in events. Upgrading characters is as essential as collecting them all, so having enough currencies and popping lots of pigs is necessary to complete these two objectives.

Currency
Coins and crystals are the two currencies available within Angry Birds Transformers. Coins are basic currencies which can be earned by popping pigs and destroying as many structures as possible. Some areas in the island will also provide you with coins from time to time. Coins are used for upgrades, which would make your Autobots and Deceptihogs stronger, as well as to unlock new areas for you to explore.

Crystals, on the other hand, are the game’s premium currency. Crystals can be used to speed up upgrades, and it can be acquired either via in-app purchases or by having friends use you as allies in their own events.

Pigs
Pigs are the game’s standard enemies. Pigs can be shot at directly, or they can be destroyed by letting them fall from their perches or having blocks fall on them. Pigs serve also as a type of currency as different amounts are required in order to unlock new characters. The best way to dispatch of pigs is to let them fall rather than shooting at them directly, and hitting critical spots as well as boxes of TNT will make popping them a lot faster.

At latter stages of the game, players will get to encounter pigs that will shoot at your character, as well as flying pigs and pigs wearing armor. Players must dispatch of them quickly as well as to aim their shots carefully in order to do maximum damage so that they are not able to exhaust your character’s health.

Health
All characters have limited health and are represented by hearts. Taking damage such as shots from pigs and falling towers will diminish your health. Should your health run out, you will fail the event. Health regenerates outside of events over time, but players can spend currencies in order to refill this faster. It is therefore recommended for players to either wait or pay to have health replenished so that they would not have any problems with clearing an event despite having lots of dangers along the way.

Characters
Characters within Angry Birds Transformers features both Autobots and Decepticons represented by birds and pigs, respectively. Characters may be unlocked using popped pigs, and each differ when it comes to speed, shot, and other statistics. Some attributes may be upgraded using coins, and leveling up characters in this way will also unlock special abilities exclusive to that particular character. These skills can be activated during events but would require a cooldown period.

Upgrading a character will take some time to complete, but players can choose to spend premium currency so that leveling up becomes instantaneous. Characters also have the ability to switch between robot and vehicle form, and this is necessary especially whenever speed is required. Transforming, like abilities, will have a meter, and this will define how long you can stay in vehicle form.

There are over twenty different Autobirds and Deceptihogs to collect, and this is important as different events will require players to use specific characters. More characters will be available for unlocking once sections of the island have been explored.

Events
Events are stages within the game, and only by clearing the event without getting defeated will allow players to earn pigs popped. However, players will still get to collect coins earned even if they get defeated. Specific characters must be used for each particular event, and players can expand the island through exploration, which would require coins to do so.

Previously cleared events would take some time before it can be entered into again, but players can spend crystals to make it available once more. Completed events become more difficult the second time around, featuring more numerous and more powerful enemies as well as more complicated structures. Of course, the number of pigs and coins to be earned will be better as well. The chances of success will be displayed before players enter the event, and this will depend on the current level of your character.

Social Function
Angry Birds Transformers also features a social function where in players can team up with the Angry Birds Transformers of other players. The selection of an ally that you will be paired up with is completely random, and players can spend coins if they would like to change the friend teamed up with them. In battle, allies can be called upon for a limited time, and there will be a cooldown period before they can be activated again.

Likewise, other players can also use you as allies in their own games. If this is the case, you will get rewarded with prizes, mostly in the form of crystals. Connecting to Facebook will also provide additional rewards, so doing this is certainly a must if you want to get the most out of your playing experience.
